Pretty grim actually. Got my prescription from Specsavers but didn't like the price of their frames...so hawked my prescription to George Asda opticians. Its been sorrowful. The Burnley staff don't se... See more

Exceeded my expectations
My requirements for varifocal lenses are fairly demanding due to my occupation, needing correction in 3 zones. I have specs from an independent opticians (Zeiss lenses) which were great but expensive. I tried ASDA (High Wycombe) to see if I could get another pair of the same quality at a better price, and the experience way exceeded my expectations.
The staff were always helpful at every stage of the process, from booking (and needing to rebook) and appointment with the dispensing optician, all the way through to delivery.
Naz (the dispensing optician) took her time to explain the Essilor options available for my requirements and was happy to use an existing recent prescription.
She spent a considerable amount of time helping me choose suitable frames, and was thorough taking measurements to ensure the lenses were exactly right.
Dabinder was also welcoming and helpful when I arrived to pick them up, and Naz was again really helpful ensuring the fit was correct.
The final result was a pair of glasses that were easily as good as my pair from an independent but around half the price. A very happy customer.
My wife ordered two pair of glasses on…
My wife ordered two pair of glasses in the Perth branch on the 8 July and was told they would be delivered within approx. ten days.
We called after over two weeks and were told that one pair had arrived and would we like to pick them up.
My wife said that she would wait until both pairs were there before picking them up
We waited another week and I called them back to be told they had not arrived and that they would phone the lab for an update and call me back later in the day.
That was yesterday and still no phone call.
In total that is now 23 days we have been waiting, not an eternity but they are quick enough to get your payment upfront and then it's anyone's guess when they will arrive.
Needless to say that we will not be going back to this opticians.
Can say that the staff were helpful and polite and it is no fault of theirs for the company's faults.
Update...got a phone call at 5pm on 31 July to be told that the store has been calling the lab but can't get a definite answer regarding the glasses.
Shocking way to treat customers.
Update...day 28.
Still no glasses.
Absolute Mickey Mouse outfit, who as I said previously, want your money upfront and then you can wait and wait and wait.
I wonder if we could cancel this and be refunded the total.
Update....phoned the shop on four occasions today with no one answering the call...called back only to be put onto the answer machine.
Totally regret dealing with this outfit.
I hope other intended customers take this on board and have a good think before dealing with this lot.
5 star service at Peterborough Asda opticians!!
I had an eye test on the 15th July at Asda opticians in Peterborough, and chose rimless frames which I had always wanted but would never pay the prices at other opticians. The price included varifocals, thin lenses and anti reflective coating. I got a text 8 days later saying they were ready for collection. Picked them up today and must say they are fantastic!!!. I've ordered some transitions glasses now with lower cost frames for driving and sunny days.
The staff have all been fantastic and would highly recommend going there for your next pair of glasses. Thank you
Avoid
Avoid, had an eye test and the prescription is way higher than my usual prescription. Received the glasses and can't wear them as can't see anything clearly and the glasses give me a eye strain headache. In touch with them via email to see if I can return glasses at the cost of £120 for a full refund. Had to wait weeks for an appointment also. My advice save your time,.money and effort and use an independent optician.
The staff couldn't have been better
The staff couldn't have been better, from start to finish! Excellent service.

I had an eye test in Asda Kirkcaldy...
I was bowled over by the friendliness, and helpfulness of the team.
Great team who were caring and customer service was out of this world. I was assisted with choosing frames..
Last comment - extremely reasonable prices too. Got x2 pairs of glasses - one pair of shades, and another pair... both varifocals.... under 160 quid.
Way cheaper than other opticians I've dealt with!
Eye test incompetence
Wife had eye test a few weeks ago at the Dunfermline store, got word to make an appointment to pick up glasses.
Went in today and a complete waste of time, she couldn't see anything out of one of the lenses as prescription was reduced so much.
Person serving said this is the second one today, seemingly on eye test the plus and minus buttons are close together and he must have pushed the wrong button she explained.I think he should go for an eye test if he cannot push the correct button. Now have to make another appointment and go through the process again, the cost of glasses maybe cheaper, but if they can't get it right is it worth the hassle involved, lifes to short.
ASDA Chandlers Ford - Terrible, avoid
ASDA Chandlers Ford. Booked an appointment for a standard vision test, arrived and waited over an hour for the optician. Had already been phoned the weekend before by ASDA to encourage me to upgrade the test to OCT which I declined as I'd recently had a diabetic eye screening. Optician didn't apologise for the wait, tried to upgrade the test to OCT again and was quite short when I explained I didn't need or want one. Somehow it was decided without trying 2 different lenses that my prescription had changed slightly in one eye and that I'd need new glasses. Perhaps I should be impressed that an optician can just know without the usual better/worse/same check that I need a different lens... Being cynical I think this was an attempt to get me to buy new glasses even though my vision hasn't actually changed. Have been coming here for 15 years, but I won't be returning after this terrible experience.
Great service
First time here at sefton park store after a horrible experience in Specsavers, all the staff were amazing polite and knew there job, Louisa was amazing taking me through everything from start to finish couldn't recommend her more or the staff
Thanks
Tony
Fantastic service and value
Took a prescription in as I had been tested elsewhere. I was surprised by the choice of frames they had and even more surprised by the low cost. My eyes as quite bad and they offered me thinner varifocal lenses at no extra cost so I ended up getting 2 pairs od designer frames with thinner varifocal reactions lenses for under £200. I was quoted £550 in boots and £300 in specsavers for one pair. Lovely and friendly staff with no hard sell. Booked my husband in for next week. Definitely recommend. This was asda kingswood, hull.
No communication or updates
I was used to same day dispatch, but having tried to use Asda opticians, the website does not let me know if my order has been dispatched, or if it is going to be, no idea. The automated email said the system would send me an email when the order had been despatcher, but days later - nothing. I'm not sure if they are going to arrive, if they are still on order, or what?
Asda Coryton Cardiff
Asda Coryton Cardiff, Excellent service, good value and very helpful staff, Glasses returned in 8 days from when ordered.
Not good customer service
Didn't make contact with me to say my glasses were ready because the person concerned did not realise that landlines had to be rung. Not everyone has a mobile phone. Picked up my new glasses and when I got home realised the lenses had finger marks all all over them. Does no one train them in customer service.
Do not use opticians asda hessle road
I was told my glasses would be ready in 2 weeks, after 2 weeks i was told the frames was out of stock, nearly 5 weeks later i still have no glasses...i would NOT reccomend asda hessle road opticians to anybody...i'm getting really bad headaches & eye strain
Awful experience from my 17 year-old…
Awful experience from my 17 year-old she went for an eye test at the Grimsby branch being in full-time education and 17 shouldn’t have paid for eye test When she told Julia the lady at the desk that she was on a bursary but not the type of bursary that you pay your eye test for she was pretty much bullied, patronisedand spoken down to before being told (and made) to pay the £24 for it. What an awful experience for someone doing it for the first time on their own. Julia needs to learn some serious customer service skills and perhaps listen to the customers. Disappointed to say the least as I’ve been using Asda opticians for years.
Great experience this morning
Great experience this morning in Llandudno Asda— a very, very helpful person, very professional, very attentive, and she managed to solve all my problems. The person in question is Sarah.
Glasses not fit for purpose
I purchased two pairs of glasses from Asda Opticians in Dunfermline on in July 2024. I had various issues with both pairs and had to return on 6 occasions to try and have them rectified. It was eventually discovered that the prescription was actually wrong which caused all the issues. I have still not been able to wear either pair since and have relied on my previous glasses up until now. I have now purchased new glasses from Vision Express with no issues. This was a complete inconvenience and waste of money (£208) and I would therefore not recommend Asda Opticians to anyone.
Awful service and like a cattle market experience
Optician was good and the length of time for new arrival of glasses was quick.
The member of staff i dealt with whilst she gave me the new glasses was awful. All she did was ask me to put them on and she even walked off whilst i did it! Didn't ask me if they felt good, didnt check if they were tight behind ears etc.
The whole experience was like a cattle market and to top it all off, the arm is very loose on the pair i received. Will never be going back.
The most terrible glasses I've ever…
The most terrible glasses I've ever bought,I had to wait a month because the staff sent me a text to say they were ready, it failed to be delivered and they don't follow up if they haven't been collected, Poor customer service.
They are varifocal lenses, the distance and mid range parts are very small areas and the bottom half of the lens is wasted, completely out of focus, making stairs hazardous and busy areas difficult, driving is ok distance wise but trying to read gauges or sat nav requires to much effort as the lower part of the lens is so blurry and at motorway speed dangerous.
I have glasses from Specsavers that are 4 years old and out perform these in every way,in particular the way that the lower half of the lens is actually useful, especially when driving or coming downstairs.
I won't be coming back, I will stick with Specsavers in the future and these will be left in a drawer in case of emergency.
Great service. Used for several years now
Used for several years now. Great service and very helpful indeed at my local branch in Long Eaton.
