Quick to charge, complete silence when they owe you money!

I transferred internet provider at the beginning of September. Orcon still charged me after this date, in September, and then they did it again in October knowing I had shifted provided. I have spent ALL of November trying to get the refund that is showing on my account paid. Bounce from one customer specialtist to another everytime. And everytime they say it's going to get paid - but still chasing. NOT GOOD ENOUGH ORCON!

Was on a power and internet

Was on a power and internet bundle for 12 months as a contract, was meant to get 10% of because of the bundle, towards the end the power was costing $880 a month with 10% of bringing it down to $800, changed companies two bill cycles ago and power has been $400 a month since. Not sure how they were charging me but i saved 50% to change companies

Exceptional customer service from Colline

My sister had a rocky start when she first called and someone answered, pretended they couldn’t hear her and hung up. Frustrated, she called again, and that’s when I got connected with Colline. What a positive difference!

Colline was absolutely lovely, professional, efficient and genuinely helpful. He listened carefully, understood the issue right away and resolved everything smoothly. He made her feel like a valued customer, not just another number. Thanks to Colline’s exceptional service, we are going to stay with Orcon no matter where we move. Internet is important, but great customer support is everything and Colline truly delivered.

Paid two extra months after closing account

Switched service providers to Simply Broadband on April 11th. Received a full bill from Orcon for April 3rd to May 3rd, then received ANOTHER full bill from Orcon for May 3rd to June 3rd. Called up to explain the situation and I was informed I had to give a month's notice to cancel. Since the month's notice started on April 11th (when I switched) ... I had to pay for April in full and June in partial. Disappointed this kind of scam still exists. Orcon should be ashamed.

I had Orcon come to my home to see if I had termites. The rep stated that I swarmers and needed termite protection which would be around $2000. I asked if he would email a bid and I would let him. He never left his card, and I do not remember his name, and I never received a bid.

Very poor service

Very poor service. My internet keeps cutting off but they don't know how to fix it. They don't have enough people to answer the phone. I asked for a supervisor and they said that they can't contact me back.

Expensive & poor service.

After being a customer of Orcon for more than 15 years I have left. I can no longer justify paying the most expensive monthly rate for fibre service, on top of that I found out after more than 3 years under my current contract that I am required to return the modem - which was not mentioned anywhere in my contract.

Expensive, poor customer service - there are better options for internet providers.

TERRIBLE COMPANY

TERRIBLE COMPANY! do not join Orcon. Our internet cuts off every night without a doubt and they do not credit us or offer anything to help. They are actually trash and I would rather sit on a hill with a rabbit antenna than piss any more money away on this POS company. Writing this review on my data because the wifi is down yet again

Worse company I ever dealt with. Customer service has been so bad, I had to cancel my account just to stay sane and not deal with these fools. I cancelled my number and account.

Was with Orcon for over 8 years

Was with Orcon for over 8 years. Over the last 3 years I had constant disconnections and poor speed as low 2.4mbps on VDSL and also price increases. I have now cancelled my connection but they still charge me have rung them 3 times and they still have not stopped the taking of my money even after waving the 1 month notice. How do you get them to stop? All operators have said it has been sorted yet I still get billed.

Absolutely poor customer service

I realised that Orcon is one of the most expensive provider. Therefore, I decided to switch to others.
In the past, I did have bad customer experience but this time, I wonder it's because they already knew that I was switching to other, it took me over 5 emails and more than a week to reply to my inquiry.
I switched the provider on the 5th of April but they gave me an invoice for after 8th April. I asked why they are charging me and finally after so many attempt, they finally replied to say that apparently you must give them one month notice otherwise they will charge you even you are not using them.

Since when you need them to help you, they just ignore you till it's too late, and they charge so much more than others and their connection is poor, I will never ever go back to them.

No trust or confidence in Orcon

Completed form for moving house. After submitting form with a cheaper connection for the move, received email offer for the connection I had on a 12 months fixed term. Couldn't change the move order online. Then got a fixed term offer for the move order connection. Contacted Orcon. They called, said they changed the move order to take advantage of the first (and faster connection) discount offer and then sold me power as well that was discounted and with 2 months free broadband. The power was connected on the agreed date. The broadband connection was not the one agreed but they have locked in a 12 months fixed term on the lesser connection and have not credited the first month free broadband. I've emailed them a few times to get things sorted and there has been no response to any of my emails.

Orcon rip off

Had 12 month contract I couldn't cancel without paying $250 which I was never informed of as I signed up over the phone, after 6 months they automaticly increased thier charges changing it from the agreed pice and wouldn't change it back to the agreed 12 month contract price! so dont trust these cons,

Charged for more than 12 months

We were on a 12-month fixed term contract. However, we have just been billed for a 13th month?? My flatmate called to cancel our account 25 days ago and they said it can take up to 30 days which is questionable and in that time we received the 13th bill for a 12-month contract. Which we are absolutely not paying. They said they would call her back tomorrow and took no immediate action.

not reliable service

We have left the property May 2022; notified orcon and returned the modem. Also I have not resided in NZ since we left. Year January 2024; I have received an overdue payment of 5000+ nzd?? Very difficult to contact them too.

Unreliable service and not recommended; do not put yourself in this kind of situation.
