Efficient, explained everything and my inner porch composite door and side glass panel looks amazing. It replaced an old 1970's/80's wooden one that wasn't very efficient on keeping heat in. The new d... See more

A seamless and professional service from beginning to end. I highly recommend Otter Windows, their installers, their surveyor and the person who coordinated the whole project, Debbie Green. Faultless!

No hesitation in recommending - we had 10 windows, patio doors and 3 external doors done. Great team who did exactly what they said they would do when they said they would do it with minimal fuss and mess. House is transformed. Special mention to Bob and Terry the fitters who were very entertaining but polite and respectful of our home. Top marks all round.

Extremely happy with the service received from this company from the speedy response to our initial email enquiry to the final expert fitting of our lovely new door. A visit from Andy was quickly arranged - no hard sell just a careful explanation of our options and the process. Andy created a design there and then along with us and gave us his best offer on price. We followed this up with a visit to the local showroom in Honiton where we met Steve and were able to try out some doors. Their quote was the cheapest of three but we would have gone with Otter Windows anyway as we preferred the composition of their doors. Having placed our order Steve then visited to undertake the detailed measurements and a few weeks later the lovely Ian arrived to remove the old door and fit the new. It was a pleasure having him here and he did a brilliant job removing the old and fitting the new door. Debbie in the local office was helpful throughout and the phased payment process was efficient and easy to use. We are absolutely delighted with our new door which looks great, feels solid and works well. We are looking forward to a winter without a cold wind blowing through the front door! Very happy to recommend Otter Windows .

Local firm ruined by new owner.
Long story, choose Otter Windows as like to support local business. PLEASE note this is no longer a local business and it is Britannia Windows as they bought.
Simple job, install French doors, remove some brickwork, and our builder would tidy up.
First visit, measure up, agree on what we want, and receive a price and agree.
Second visit, surveyor visits, second measure, and they order glass/doors etc.
Third visit they come to fit, take down bricks etc and then measure what materials they came with. They don't fit, and either the surveyor or the manufacturer made them incorrectly. The fitters were not local and didn't care, rude to me and the builder when the builder explained what Otter had agreed to do. The fitter stood smoking in the garden with zero respect or interest. Left with wooden board, no daylight and mess in garden.
They leave, had to go to Bristol to get materials, that is another day and then someone arrives with glass but forgot the handles/keys.
Finally, a local fitter is used (great guy), worked all Saturday, but they sent him with the wrong trim, he has to drive for an hour to get it (but can't get all of it), and then works to correct all original brickwork errors and refits the door as work is so poor. Due to the orignal work being poor, lots of brick dust so another full clean of kitchen needed (not this fitters fault as did great work to correct initial mess).
We then wait another week, and the trim arrives and is fitted. There were numerous calls and emails, and the project took 5 weeks from start to finish.
This is a small job and not complex. After a long delay and shocking work, we received the final invoice. No offer of reduction, registered a complaint, and offered £145 off if accepted within 7 days. I think around 2.5% reduction, they make you pay nearly all costs upfront.
Does the management team call? Of course not, we received great support from the local office throughout, but they get left to deal with customers when management makes mistakes.
I run a business, and when things go wrong (they do!), I will call my customers and discuss a resolution and say the magic word sorry.
100% would avoid at all costs, my local window fitter came this week to adjust patio doors at a different property and explained he is currently fixing lots of Otter Window issues.
Always sad when a local firm with an excellent reputation is ruined by a larger corporate company.
As unable to reply, I would point out you have sent a long reply but not called.
16 weeks is a joke, the initial guidance from Otter was 1.5 days! Enjoy hiding behind T&C.
Management should call as they get the £, I doubt Debbie is getting the profit. The owner of Britannia is based in Jersey and enjoying the £. Someone should call and make a sensible offer. The job was a disaster and Britannia are taking the money and clearly nobody really cares.
The £145 is more of an insult. The company employs local people but is no longer local, it is owned by the elite in Jersey and the customer care comes after profit.
I will be advising all to avoid the company and suggest that someone in senior leadership learns how to use a phone (after the job is finally completed).

My windows were fitted late last year. I had no problems with any part of the service, the quality of the products, the price or anythnig. Until I got home to find that they had fitted a large fillet around all my reveals including the cill, without discussing this with me first. This meant that my blinds no longer fitted and need replacing at a cost of over £1000. The cills now look ridiculous as the are not flat and cannot be used to place anything on. (They offered to replace them at a cost to me.)
I was told repeatedly that when replacing sash windows with casement that they ALWAYS do this as it's standard because of the gap left. I argued that in that case they should have discussed this with me first to give me the opportunity to do something different, which I absolutely would have. They failed again and again to acknowledge this which is disgusting.
I am left with a bill for probably 2k to get new blinds, fix the cills on all three windows and still have stupid fillets ruining the look of my period window revelas. So upset by all of this.

We are very happy to be the proud owners of a lovely new front door.
This is the second time we have used Otter Windows and throughly recommend them.
Thank you to Andy for his initial advice, to Ian and Chris for expertly fitting the door and to Debbie who keeps everything in order and is a joy to speak to.

Mark replaced three windows, not a straight forward job on our old cottage. We are very pleased with the look and finish. This is the third time we have used otter windows in sixteen months, previously having a new front door and sunroom.

This is the second time we have used Otter windows, the first many years ago.
Everything from start too finish was a pleasant experience.
Mark arrived on time and was very professional, polite and friendly.
Fitted a new back door and window, along with the front door.
Showed how the front door mechanism worked and explained everything along the way.
Cleaned up afterwards so absolutely no mess was left behind.
Would highly recommend them to anyone.
The service is still as exceptional as it was the first time we used them.
Well done.

Paul turned up when promised and did a great job replacing a door. He cleaned up afterwards and showed me how the locking mechanism worked. Delighted with both the quality of the product and the trouble-free installation. I’ve bought from Otter Windows before and remain a happy customer.

The salesman made three commitments during his visit - none of which transpired to be correct (possibly this is the nature of sales). Follow up had a couple of minor errors - easily forgivable.
The entire experience was salvaged by an exemplary installation by Paul Kwidzinski who carried out the work in a very thorough and professional manner. Always polite, working cleanly and competently to achieve an excellent installation.

John and Debbie were very helpful and knowledgeable throughout the process, and we're also the most competitively priced of three quotes we received. The sash windows we bought are well fitted and high quality- solid and smooth in operation.
I would recommend Otter Windows to anyone interested in fairly priced and nicely installed windows.
