If we could give them a zero we would.

If we could give them a zero we would.. recently signed up to this programme and have had absolute terrible lack of response.

Buyers remorse, I am thinking that this could be the worst decision we have made.

Matthew Jones …Come Clean!!!

The Founder and Managing Director Matt Jones once Tweeted this in 2022
“Helping others improve their lives motivates me. I believe everybody deserves a fair chance, irrespective of their circumstances”
Well Mr Matthew Jones do the right thing and communicate what the hell has gone on at Oxbridge Home Learning to the thousands of students and loyal tutors who you have completely let down …you owe it to them to come clean!!!

Fight for your money back!

Do not be a victim and fight back against those thieves. We enrolled our daughter to the GCSE in Media Studies and the reviews seem to be good. Hours after making the payment, my husband went back to check the reviews again and we saw many new comments saying that tutors had not been paid for 2 months and that students got no assistance. WE read some students had worked hard for a year on their A-Level and in the end, they had not even been registered to take their exams and they entry to university was compromised. We immediately checked their terms and conditions and it says we could change our mind within 14 days. We followed the instructions to cancel the payment, only hours after having made it. The following morning, we tried to call them but no answer. By miracle, they replied on the chat and said that we needed to forward that cancellation request to another email address, which we did. After that, they no longer replied. We pretended to be new customers and guess what, they immediately called us back to take our money!! My husband told the sales person on the phone that what they were doing was illegal. They could not take people's money while they know people have been made redundant, they have no tutors and they are being put in administration. The person hang up on us!!! I had also registered so they also contacted me, to talke more money from us but when they realised it was to get our refund, they stopped communicating. We contacted the bank very early on, when the payment was still showing as pending but they said they needed to follow the process and give them evidence that we had requesteda refund and communicated with them. Make sure you keep all your evidence, I took screenshots of the chat exchange and my many attempts to contact them. You will need it for the bank or a complaint! The bank told us we would have to wait until the 26th of Sept to formally raise a dispute and get a chargeback. On the 15th of Sept, by miracle, they replied to our daughter and said we would get a refund within 10 working days but that it will probably take less. We waited until this week and 13 working days later, still no refund.....we called the bank and sent our evidence. You MUST request a charge back from your bank for them not delivering the courses, even if it is past 14 days! Keeo evidence of them not communicating as well as all the comments here on Turspilot. If you have contact with tutors, see if they would accept to send you an email to testify of what is going on there. Also, our payment was taken by the Barston College so make sure you tell the bank they are the same. Also, PLEASE report them to Trading Standards and contact the CITIZEN ADVICE to find out how to get your money back. As someone else said before, make sure you did it ASAP before there is nothing left. Investigate if it is possible to go after their director, maybe in a civil suit, as he seems to be behind both Oxbridge and Barston College and I do not see why he could enjoy the money he stole from hard-working people while his companies made so much damage in the lives of thos kids and students. He should pay every single one of you back!!! Stay positive, keep strong and all the best of luck to all the families, kids and parents!

Overall good, poor communication

Overall my course was good. I took my level 2 gym instructor course with oxbridge and found it to be good. However. I completed the course in June and it is now October and I am yet to receive the certificate. It seems like a very long wait? Also unfortunately my tutor does not respond to me which isn’t helpful.

Do not use

I enrolled with this mess of a company in late 2024 and started 4 A Levels. Originally their services were of standard, but early 2025 onwards it was just terrible. The assignments are a complete waste of time and the stuff they made for you to learn from are glorified PDFs that are of no substance. I sat my exams this year and I knew I would fail because of this, so now I am resitting but I've been told the exam centre is refusing to work with Oxbridge due to exam issues so now I have had to get a tutor to do my History NEA so thats another £350 gone!!!

Absolute scam, no wonder the exam centre isn't working with them - I certainly wouldn't. Just buy the textbooks and google youtubers, save you thousands instead of going with these. It's utter fraud what they are doing to us who are trying for a better career.

No Support. Has Oxbridge Gone Bust?

My daughter is in her second year of GSCE with Oxbridge. For some reason the tutors and not marking work and not responding to emails. She has had no support for nearly a month and our complaint is being ignore. Avoid signing up for any new courses with them. I note on Companies House there is a charge against them through an equity company so they may be going bust.

Oxbridge bought by Barston College

I am nearly finished with my Early Years course and it ends in November. Like many others I have the same issue, no respons from Customer support or tutors. I had the idea of looking up one of my tutors on Linkedin. I found her and after talking to her about it she informed me that everybody from the Early Years branch has been made redundent without notice this month ( September). None of the tutors could warn the students etc. Oxbridge has been bought by Barston College, which didn't have a good Trustpilot review either. Good luck to all of us. We will follow a lawsuit soon if we can't finish the course in good time.

HORRIBLE SO INCREDIBLY DISAPPOINTED

HORRIBLE! I’m trying to transfer my course and I’ve called over 60 times over the past 2 and a half weeks, emailed, emailed support, left voicemails and requested call backs and asked for an investigation because they don’t pick up the phone. They don’t get in contact and they make you feel like they will be there for your studies (which you’re paying for) and nothing. I can’t tell you how disappointed I am with this college, I use to have nothing but praise but now disappointment and I’m still paying for a course that’s pointless of doing. I just need help and they couldn’t do that and you’d think they’d call back considering the course I want to transfer to is higher and more expensive.

Avoid

I can only echo what many others have shared. Paid for 3 A-Level courses using a loan from Omni Capital. Now we have no tutor access, can't progress with the course, and to top it off, Omni Capital have informed me the loan is unregulated and I'm still liable for it. The fact that Oxbridge have set up another website 'Barston College' using the same company number, and they're still taking people's money, just shows how corrupt some people are. I'll be seeking legal advice.

My experience with Oxbridge was pretty dreadful

My experience with Oxbridge was pretty much a disaster from the get-go! The initial sales operative falsified how much support you receive on the program. He was more preoccupied with payment than course content – it really was an anything for a sale conversation! After I stupidly committed, I was directed to the “portal”; a confusing screen of boxes that redirected me, the “learner” to YouTube videos. The tutorials were mainly American content creators barnstorming through subject overviews. And then the assignments, or units, or modules or components. I was never really sure what they were or how they were structured. An assignment is part of a unit and unit is part of a module etc. Whatever you call them, the work you submit would most likely be returned as wrong! Incorrect citation, not enough detail, structure etc. For somebody with two degrees, and being a teacher and assessor myself, I found this a little patronising. I was however, told I could have an extension at the end of the course, if I wanted to re-submit the work…as long as I was prepared to part with extra cash for the privilege. No thanks! And then there was the online tutorials. Oh please? The tutorials are an essay in their own right, cancellations, no shows etc. When I phoned to complain I was on hold for 15 – 30 minutes and finally spoken to like I was a five-year-old. I was also threatened my conversation would be terminated if a dared to record the dialogue. And then, as if by magic, “bang” they have gone into administration without any explanation to their paying customers and learners. Not even an acknowledgment of learning, nothing. Complete silence. Even the worst companies that go bust, advise their loyal customers of what to do next. Not Oxbridge, oh no. It really is astounding that Ofsted torture schools and colleges over learner experience and education quality. Oxbridge have got away with being a complete exploitative shambles. Avoid them at all costs. Word is they are looking to start up again under the new name “‘Barston College” – its another scam. Leave them well alone. I’m still waiting for them to contact me with a certificate or refund, nothing! Absolutely shameful!

My course is coming to an end within a matter of weeks and I have received no communication, marking, answers to my calls, nor can I even access my final assignment. I have reached out to the company on multiple occasions but to no avail and will have no choice but to file a dispute with my bank. I have get to hear if anyone has been successful in pursuing legal action against this company but I’m hoping that there someone has been.

No communication

I am currently enrolled on a level 3 animal care course. For the start of my course I had good communication with my tutor and my first assignment was marked on time and given feedback which I resubmitted and was marked again on time. However in the last two months communication has been close to non existent, whether this is on live chat, phone calls and emails to my tutor all being ignored and unanswered. My course expires in two months and I have already completed all my assignment however my third assignment cannot be submitted until my second one is marked. Very frustrating and disappointing as I shouldn’t have to wait over a month for an assignment to be marked with no explanation at all. Very unhappy.

No support

Delayed my enrolment due to the lack of a payment plan, once I had been set up and they took the first installment it took over a week to get login details whuch I had to really chase, and still nothing about tutor contacts after that. Sent several emails, tried the live chat several times, dozens of unanswered phone calls and now no response to my cancellation email.

Don't Use - Avoid At All Costs

Started a Level 3 animal care course on the 25th June, and everything came ok. Completed the first module and submitted my assignment on the 6th August, and I did not receive anything back (They state 14 days for this to be done) so emailed on the 26th Aug said they were behind due to staffing issue. Now were on the 24th Sept and I'm getting no reply to emails, chat, and they are not answering the phone either.
Sent an email to cancellations the other day asking for a full refund but looking at the other review on here done recently I'm not confident I will get a reply. I paid for the course in full on credit card so I am going to go through them if I have no reply soon to see if I can recover the money paid.
Not a Happy Bunny !!

No reply from them..

I am having the same experience as all the recent reviews. They re not answering phones, the chat is not working, no reply to emails for over 2 weeks.
The response from the AI email has just stopped replying too,.it was the only thing I was able to communicate with!
Yes, the Oxbridge ltd case board site shows it going into administration. Thank you to the user here who posted that.

Edit:
I suggest getting advice from CAB, they have been really helpful. I am paying in installments and the loan company pay assist are still taking payments. The thing is if I cancel this and use chargeback it will go to debt recovery from them to me. I pay with debit card so section 75 does not apply.
It's not showing yet on Companies house ,but it will. When it does I will write to the administrator with all my proof, emails from them and request refund of monies paid as they have not fulfilled purchase, and ask them to cancel my course so then cancel payment assist contract.
I phoned companies house, and when it finally shows on there I must OBJECT ( object to the company closing as they owe me money, if they close there's no chance of debt recovery ), via a tool on gov website, it's easy to find. The information is all on there.

Good luck guys
