Excellent Software. I absolutelly recommend it !!!

While it might do what you need it to do, its cumbersome to navigate and searching/filtering does not give you what you expect.

Best product for network visibility and management by far. Great maps and UI

Troubleshooting fixes the issue, however, knowing where to start troubleshooting results in fixes the issue efficiently. my IT team have been experiencing this for the past 3 years through the enhanced capabilities of PRTG channels with their associated sensors.

PRTG Does SOOOOOOO much. The free version is extremely generous and gives you so much capability. Costs for upgrades is up front and easy to see. Nothing that I need to get weird quotes for or figure out different service plans.

By far the easiest product to setup for networking monitor that i've used.

Since we purchased PRTG our monitoring has been rock solid. The amount of historical data i can pull especially with network ports has been above and beyond helpful. The Ease of use and stability is by far better than any other monitoring program we have had in the past. Excellent product!

lots of information but misses out on basic monitoring, not intuitive to customize

I'm confused how a NetMon product could be this bad. I downloaded PRTG, installed, and scanned my home network with a Win Credential. Not only did this not find and manage my 10 or 12 Win Laptops, nor my 4 iPhone, my iPad, my MacBook, the Alexa, or other IP devices pingable directly from the laptop I installed PRTG from. I gotta believe I did something wrong, but other NetMon tools I've demo'd worked fine. The devices PRTG actually found don't even allow you to see mouse over to it's IP address, even when you drill down, because it's DNS name is listed.

So weird. I expected a lot more. I was really hoping to see all the services it found on the laptop it installed on (CPU, RAM, HDD, etc) on every other authenticated Win device, but nothing. Granted I did ZERO training prior, and never used this product before, but I'm a 30 year network admin, and out of the box I expected more. The User Interface is cluttered and confusing list of drop down categories with a basic list, nothing which could be manipulated into a network map. Disappointing.

The software largely is reliable and does what it says it will do. I can get quite slow when you're parsing a device with 100s of interfaces etc, or if you add too many SNMP MIBs to its library.

While you can extend with custom scripts etc, we've found several instances where it is hard to make PRTG parse and alert in the right way.

For simple use cases, it works well.

When you need to talk to support we get really annoyed with the constant "its designed to work like that" or "that's only a feature to get you started"

Customer support and attitude are terrible - if we weren't already using it I'd pick something else, but the pain isn't sufficient to justify the time and effort against other business priorities yet to do this.

PRTG is living on borrowed time here.

PRTG is one of the best monitoring, diagnostic, and mapping tools I've ever used. And it's so much more than that.

Great Tool to use and monitor infra

PRTG is a great tools for all size shops. 100 sensors come for free so even small shops can implement it. By monitoring network traffic and workstations you can be alerted before users start complaining.
