Awful delivery serice & damaged item

I ordered a Breadmaker through Panasonic Direct: The purchase was birthday present. Ordering was easy.

Now onto delivery. DHL eCommerce. Sent a message by DHL eCOM UK Friday - item out for delivery, a signature is required, must be in - can change delivery date. So I changed delivery date to Monday. Time given was when we were out so I changed delivery date to Tuesday when I could be in all day. Message received from DHL eCOM UK saying parcel delivery between 11:33-20:00. Parcel out for delivery - I waited all day - no parcel arrived. I then received notification that the parcel delivery had not been made and it would be delivered the next day (Wednesday). I therefore cleared my schedule and waited all day for the item to arrive - again the item did not arrive. During Wednesday I called both DHL customer service and Panasonic direct customer service. I spoke to a customer service representative and I asked DHL to change the requirement for a signature to either deliver to a ‘safe place’ or deliver to neighbour if no-one in. I was told this was not possible due to the arrangement of Panasonic Direct. I was told to speak to Panasonic. I phoned Panasonic direct customer service - initially told there was nothing they could do, but finished the call saying they would speak to DHL and phone me back - they never did call me back. I was then told the parcel would arrive on Thursday (on the day of the birthday, so now late). Message received from DHL eCOM UK - parcel out for delivery between 17:51-18:51. Parcel did not arrive all day. Finally I received a message on the Friday - Parcel out for delivery between 10:00-20:00. It did finally arrive, but when I unboxed the item it has a dent - presumably from being loaded/unloaded in the DHL van so many days in a row.

It is obviously completely unacceptable to be asked to be at home to receive delivery with a signature, 5 days in a row.

I usually order from Amazon, where I receive excellent customer service and delivery logistics. I thought I would help support the supplier directly with this order, but I will never repeat this process. Panasonic Direct your job is to supply the ordered product, intact and in new condition and DHL eCOM your job is to deliver this at a time specified. You have both failed in your jobs. The worst was not being able to change the delivery requirements, to allow the item to be delivered in a safe place or to a neighbour. Your policy is seriously out of date. Your service is only acceptable to people who are housebound (the minority of the population).

Very poor returns experience

Very poor returns experience. This was the return of a camera bought from Panasonic Direct. I have had to chase and their systems clearly don't know what's going on. They even said I hadn't contacted them days later when I had received acknowledgement directly from them to show I had. Best avoid, but if you do use them, keep a clear record of any correspondence as they are clearly very poor at customer service.

Further to the above, Panasonic have provided responses to some of the issues raised. I provide their response after my question:

Qu: The lens fitting seems defective, requiring excessive force to attach the 1.8 lens to the body

Panasonic's answer: This is not a defect, in some cases it requires a bit of force, and the attachment is not necessarily smooth.

Qu: The main camera body exhibits shaking, suggesting loose internal parts

Panasonic's answer: This is confirmed to not be a defect, as when the camera is in a POWER OFF state, some components appear to be loose, but this is the correct operation of the unit.

This is deeply worrying. You need a bit of force to fit the lens!

Steer well clear of Panasonic

This is my experience having bought a Panasonic OLED TV, model Number TX-42MZ800B.
(Note that this product had 3 faults with it: 1. The Freeview TV guide App repeatedly crashed and required a full TV restart to get it back. 2. It was unable to smoothly transition between video frames. 3. It had periods of very slow running where the video and sound were considerably out-of-sync. This latter fault alone made the TV unwatchable.)
I reported the first of the above faults to the Retailer within 30 days of buying it. The Retailer stated that the fault had been reported by other stores, that Panasonic were aware of it and pointed me to Panasonic Customer Support.
“N****” from Panasonic E-Commerce advised that I needed to do a Software update (It turns out that an Online software update isn’t possible on this TV!!) and said an Engineer call would be needed.
I then discovered that Panasonic UK sub-contract their support to “The Repair Guys”, who I duly called. They were very helpful and asked that I send proof of Purchase, Name, Address, postcode and description of the problem, which I did. They texted me an appointment for an Engineer to call, which I confirmed, and got a Response saying “We’ll confirm the time of the appointment by 7 p.m. the day before.”
That confirmation text never came so, not wanting to waste a day, I texted to cancel the appointment. I received a call back from The Repair Guys who told me that Panasonic UK had advised them that the fault couldn’t be fixed via a software update and to call Panasonic UK Customer Service!!
(Note: Later the same day, I got a call from an Engineer from The Repair Guys saying he had to come and do a software update! Perhaps the left hand should check what the right hand …. etc. etc.?)
I called Panasonic UK Customer Service. I spoke to “A******” who took all the details and requested a photo of my Purchase Receipt, advised that they were aware of the problems and that they needed to refer “upwards”, but would email with suggestions.
I then received an email from “A****” at Panasonic UK Customer Service asking for photos and a video of the problem, the software level, and the signal strength level. I explained that as the problem was random I couldn’t say when it was going to occur and thus it would be difficult to video. I supplied the other photographic evidence.
I then got another email from “A****” stating that they definitely needed video evidence before they could assess the problem.
Having finally managed to capture a video of the fault, I uploaded it to Panasonic UK Customer Service. This was an acknowledged by an email from “A****” saying: “Thank you for … providing us with the required video. We do apologise if this has caused you any inconvenience. Regarding your concern, we confirm that your enquiry has been raised to our team and we will update you as soon as possible.”
I then received an email from “D****” in Panasonic Customer Care which said: “..kindly refer back to the retailer for a one-time exchange or return as per their availability and policy. We recommend asking for a refund as the replacement with the same model can lead to the same error again in the new unit until the issue is addressed by our team.”
I then logged a Complaint with Panasonic Customer Support, stating the inconvenience caused by their faulty product and seeking:
1. An acknowledgement that the product (OLED TV) should never have been sold as it had software faults which meant it was not fit for purpose;
2. An acknowledgement that their after sales Customer Support organisation had been less than efficient and asking for assurance that they would take steps to improve;
3. Monetary compensation for wasted journeys.

A reply from “O******” apologized for their delay in replying, and stated that their complaints team would be “looking into the case” and would respond “as soon as possible”.
A further reply from “O*******” stated that “Panasonic were unable to offer any such acknowledgments or compensations”.

In summary: Panasonic most likely shipped and sold this TV with known faults, and their Customer Support just didn’t want to know. From first contact with Panasonic Customer Support to their final “rejection” email was nearly 6 weeks i.e. not quick. My experience is that if you buy a Panasonic TV product don’t expect it to “perform as it says on the box” and don’t expect any sort of support from their Customer Service.
Thankfully the Retailer, having initially hidden behind the Panasonic “Warranty” (lol), has refunded my money.
If I could give zero stars, I would.

There should be option for zero stars…

There should be option for zero stars as panasonic dont deserve even 1 star. I wish I had checked review before I bought there products which will never happen again. Microwave less than a month broken. Started with the front glass door broken to pieces from closing it and they were quick to say I caused it and its not covered by warranty completely ignoring the actual complain that it cuts out after its been working just fine without the glass door a while. When I called that out, they mentioned the broken glass is the reason the microwave cuts out after 2 seconds. Since it was misuse of the product according to them, I will have to pay for repair of microwave that cost £200 when the one I had before the was £69 which lasted for over 6 years and was okay except I thought since I was moving to a new house to buy a new one.
I am never using anything Panasonic as when I complained to family was told its norm for them to try avoid taking responsibily of faults which always happen early into purchasing your products. Meaning your products and warranty can not be trusted.
I will never use your product and make sure no one around me does as well as on social media.

Not fit for purpose

Bought a Panasonic television for my main room which completely died less than THREE MONTHS after it was purchased. As it was still in the warranty, it has been taken away to get repaired. That was 9 days ago. Just called the contractor to be told it will be at least another week before it’s returned. Meanwhile I don’t have a television in my living room. Moral of the story - don’t buy Panasonic.

I purchased a CD player and radio

I purchased a CD player and radio just before Christmas 2023. I was so busy that it was a while before I tried to set up the unit but then discovered that I could not receive the DAB/FM radio signal in my house. I wanted to return the item and contacted them on-line just before the end of the 2 week return period. I didn't receive a response so phoned customer services a couple of days later. They said they didn't receive the Outlook email and declared I was outside the returns period. I emailed the manager to complain and they referred me on to Customer Services Europe - I emailed a complaint to them and didn't receive a reply. I have just had to contact customer services again this morning as the CD player wasn't working again! They talked me through a process of re-setting it. I said wanted to return it under guarantee but was fobbed off. My experience has been very bad, the product is not reliable and I cannot use the radio. This company is giving very poor service. NOT RECOMMENDED

Avoid - warranty on a £3k TV is worthless

Having been loyal Panasonic customers for years we will never again purchase a Panasonic product. Our 4k £3k TV developed a fault that there outsourced service centre could not fix. Had a call from Panasonic service to say if their technical department could not fix we would see a replacement or refund.... Months and months later we have it confirmed they cannot fix but they will not offer a refund or exchange.

Warranty is worthless. Greedy corrupt company. AVOID

Customer service is diabolical

Customer service is diabolical. I purchased a microwave in Feb 23 and the oven and grill no longer work properly. The appliance was eventually taken away for repair and now I am being told I purchased the item in May 2022 and it's out of warranty.
Panasonic you need to get your advisors and repair people to read documents properly. Also get your advisors to escalate issues to management when the customer requests a manager call back!!
It would also be helpful if your advisors didn't put the phone down on customers. Finally your automated feedback needs attention as it woul not record a satisfaction score of zero or one.
I am utterly dissatisfied with your customer service and the quality of your microwave.

I recently purchased an epilator from…

I recently purchased an epilator from Panasonic based on their website description, but unfortunately, the product I received did not match the advertised quality. Despite my attempts to return it, the company refused, leaving me dissatisfied with their customer service.

This experience has been disappointing, and I want to share it to caution others. The lack of responsiveness from Panasonic regarding the return issue has made me reconsider choosing their products in the future. I hope others take note of this and carefully consider their options before making a purchase from Panasonic.

Avoid Pansonic products as post sales support is dreadful

I'm learning that hitting Trustpilot before you buy is becoming essential.

Today Panasonic refused by warranty claim and are trying to tell me I need to buy a new shelf for £100 on a Combi Microwave that cost £450! that is a year old.

As part of the interaction they told me the Microwave wasn't clean enough therefore hadn't been looked after and that was the reason the shelf failed so quickly ... laughable.

Well likely off to small claims court for me, why, it's a matter of principle ...

Abysmal customer service

Bought a Panasonic bread maker in April 2023. The machine was ok at first but after a couple of months light use developed an intermittent fault. One loaf could be good, the next like a brick! Tried all new ingredients, different types of flour and yeast, different stores. Nothing made a difference. Contacted Panasonic and it seems I have to arrange for a local authorised services to look at it. If they cannot find the fault I will have to cover all costs myself! This is not what you would expect for a product well under guarantee. Panasonic customer service non existent. Have purchased many Panasonic products in the past but will never purchase from them again. Avoid! Update - Just spoken to service centre. Cost of collection and examining machine Is 108 GBP! This I would have to cover myself if the intermittent fault could not be found. Looks like a trip to the local tip!

You usually only see reviews of…

You usually only see reviews of negative experiences. Mine was actually positive. My old Bowers and Wilkins p7 headphones broke and I replaced them with some Panasonic Technics ones. In around eight month they'd broken at the hinge. I read the reviews of Panasonic here and elsewhere and expected a nightmare but they pleasantly surprised me. I found the website difficult to navigate, the first phone contact was not great to be honest, but once I sent pictures of the broken headphones and a few emails with purchase dates etc. they picked them up free with the offer of full refund or replacement. I took the refund, regrettably I used that on a pair of B&W PX7 headphones, won't consider B&W anymore but will definitely consider Panasonic Technics.

Wonderful Television

I recently bought a Panasonic TX-40MS490B
Panasonic 40" LED Full HD Smart TV, and i am over the moon. Every thing is great, the sound is not tinny, and the quality of the picture is fantastic. I spoke to a lovely lady called Hado, who was very helpful and friendly, a credit to Panasonic. I highly recommend this TV

I have a Panasonic NN E27JWM microwave

I have a Panasonic NN E27JWM microwave, just over two years old, the rust where the door closes is now so excessive I am having to buy a replacement, this can’t be right surely this has to be a manufacturer defect, I had other microwave 7-8 years with no issues, be aware if you considering buying a Panasonic product.

Panasonic support

I bought two expensive Panasonic Aircon units. Badly made parts broke within a year and when I called Panasonic they told me to make the parts with a plastic 3d printer!!! Completely unbelievable!!! They wouldn’t sell me the parts and wouldn’t tell me where to get them. It have had much better experiences with other brands.

Great Tv good value and delivered on time

Ordered TV and it was delivered within two days, arriving just before the 1 hr time slot I was sent. Set up was easy, and it includes google, Apple TV and Now which is excellent for under £400. I like Panasonic tv’s so bought this over an LG or Samsung. Just wanted to reassure people as I panicked after reading all the terrible reviews here!
