This was a fantastic course
This was a fantastic course. It really helped me to understand and manage pain. I would highly recommend it to everyone. It has great resources.

** UPDATE : due to the information in the reply from Pathway Through Pain below, I would increase this to 4 stars. Thanks for the response.**
The course began well, the first half was undoubtedly helpful, however once those skills were shared, the modules in the second half weren’t very helpful for me and there was a definite lack of useful content. The resource library is useful but I’m not sure how much I will dip back into it moving forward as I have to find my link to the log in page each time. An app running alongside the course offering the library within easy reach would be very beneficial.

I had a good experience and I am enjoying the meditation
I had a good experience and I a enjoying the meditation
easy to follow and helpful
i found the pathway easy to follow, some sections more relevant than others but overall very useful
Useful knowlege !
I was skeptical at first but as you go through the course i found it has some very useful information and relaxation methods. I find the videos really helped me find that calm place focusing on other things you can feel or hear rather than whats hurting.
It showed me i need to pace myself better as im guilty of trying to do too much. Distraction is key for me doing some crafts projects or listening to music.
I do think It would be good if you had a mobile app so you could recap the course and meditation videos any time even without internet connection.

Extremely helpful
I have attended a few courses to manage my chronic pain so I approached with trepidation but I needn’t have worried. It was so helpful and very well paced. All the speakers were so professional and kind and willed me to take control of my back pain and with their help I know it is up to me to do my best and to keep up the exercises of course. Thank you hugely
Physio referral was a godsend
I’m glad I was given the opportunity by my physiotherapist to complete this online course.
It has guided me through looking at my pain from a different angle, the pain is still there but I feel better prepared to challenge how my mind and body respond to it.
The stretching exercises are good to incorporate into daily life and many can be done from a seated position which can help if mobility is an issue.
The video clips are interesting and engaging with lots of useful information and presented in an easy to understand format, doesn’t feel like you are being spoken at, more spoken to.
The relaxation videos are good but I found them lengthy initially as I’m very anxious so set aside a more appropriate time to revisit them and found that easier once I was prepared for that time period.
Self help is a great tool and I will revisit the course often over the coming weeks to refresh the techniques I have been shown.
Division one in pain control
Extremely useful and not just left afterwards follow up at 1/3 & 6 months would recommend
Pathway to Pain
This was a good course. More for people in the earlier stages of chronic pain. Almost like a pain management course. Very good, clear to hear and lots of explanations.

It's mostly relaxation techniques and a few exercises. Some people don't like mindfulness they'd rather concentrate on a brighter future than the terrible present and I think it's been developed by people who have never personally experienced a high level of pain for a prolonged period of time. It's impossible to relax when you live in pain so you don't truly benefit from meditation. The physical excersises don't consider foot to knee stretching and feet flexing that's the most useful exercise for pain of the back, stomach and legs and it's one I do several times a day and night to relieve pain and help mobility.
It does talk about medication but in a way that I think says, do you really need it? At this level of pain where someone has to attend a pain clinic I didn't find it very helpful, it's obvious that we have to have medication, I can't move without it, it's like being in a hot room with no windows and just a tiny fan on, it feels useless but just try turning the fan off for a few minutes and see how useless that fan is then.
I'm not optimistic, I don't know what follows this online course, if anything I'm exactly the same as I was before and I don't know if this is the only thing that can be done. It's seems futile but you get a certificate to download and print off when you've completed it.

Not made any difference all reddy now…
Not made any difference all reddy now all of it I'm still in pain and cramping up
Good but didnt take me far enough
This course is well structured and presented by specialists in pain management. I learned a lot, though I would really have liked a backup manual or even access to the slides. The "meditations" were the weakest bit, sometimes more like travel fantasies or hypnotism. I suspect this is a digest of an in person course which would be better for achieving real change.

This course makes you think differently…
This course makes you think differently about your experience of pain. It provides in depth information about chronic pain and ways in which you can help improve your ability to deal with pain on a day to day basis. You do need to be open minded before committing to the course and also be prepared to try the various strategies and methods suggested. I found it enlightening and helpful. Your pain isn’t cured by undertaking these actions but you will find that your mindset and experience of pain isn’t so overwhelming.
