Happy customer

The whole process of creating my store, creating my albums and moving my photos into various albums was effortless. The sale process seems easy, if only I could get sales! I keep working at it. On my wishlist: Albums within albums.

Second thoughts.

I was an early adopter (Day 1?) but have not had a single sale for a long time now. I don't know who Picfair buyers are, or what they are looking for. I am a nearly retired hobbiest, not a professional so no studio or model work. I never really hear from Picfair.. about anything .. except renew your subs. Is Picfair worth it? Convince me. Even this questionnaire is a bit vague. "Date of Experience" ... when did you first start?

Thanks for sharing this, and for being with Picfair from the very early days! Back then, Picfair worked more like a traditional marketplace. Over time, we shifted to giving photographers their own independent store instead. That change gives every photographer a beautiful home for their images, but also requires a bit more proactivity from the photographer's side in promoting their store. There are lots of resources with expert guidance on how to do this on focus.picfair.com.

On the questionnaire point, the wording you mention comes from Trustpilot’s standard review template rather than something written by Picfair!

On not hearing from Picfair; we've checked, and you're not subscribed to our mailing list, so it may be that you've unsubscribed from Picfair emails, which would explain why you don't hear from us!

Please do let us know if you'd like to subscribe again so you hear more from us.

Thanks again for taking the time to leave your review.

Picfair is great but....

Nothing to complain about Picfair.
Probably the problem is me.
I should probably keep pestering people to go there and buy my images. After an initial good fortune, as I did just that, as of late my Picfair portal has been completely dormant. Then again, I find it uncomfortable to keep asking people who follow me on social media to go there and keep buying my images. After the initial intensive campaign I did (asking for customers) I generated some sales, and it was great. I am just a bit weary to keep doing it. How long is a piece of string? Having said that, the print on demand system is great, and I never had any problems with it, nor did the customers. I'll probably upload some more new images soon and see what happens. If that fails, perhaps it's time for me to say goodbye.

Thanks so much for taking the time to share such a thoughtful and balanced review.

You’re absolutely right that Picfair tends to work best when photographers actively promote their store, especially early on. Many people see an initial lift from a focused push.

We’re really pleased to hear that the print side worked smoothly for you and your customers, and that you had a positive experience when sales did come through. Uploading new work and letting things run for a while is a very reasonable approach, and often fresh images can make a real difference.

Whatever you decide next, we genuinely appreciate you giving Picfair a fair try and sharing such honest reflections. If you ever want guidance on pricing, promotion, or portfolio strategy, our team and resources are always here to help.

I am happy with the Customer support at Picfair. It is very responsive. The only think I am not happy with Picfair is that the only use PayPal to pay royalties outside the UK. I don't like dealing with PayPal and their fees are high. Today there are many better options.

Thanks for taking the time to share this, and we’re really pleased to hear you’ve had a positive experience with our support team. We give it our all to help our photographers!

We appreciate your feedback on royalty payments as well. At the moment, PayPal is used for payouts outside the UK because it allows us to pay photographers globally in a consistent and secure way. We understand that fees can be frustrating, and feedback like this is helpful as we continue to review our payment options over time.

Thanks again for using Picfair and for sharing your experience.

It still surprises me that even though…

It still surprises me that even though I had two images make Picfair’s Top 25 for 2025, I’ve never had a single sale on the platform. What’s even stranger is that I was the only photographer with two images in the Top 25—yet no sales to show for it.

I regularly sell work on other sites, and many of my images on Picfair have received stars, but for some reason, that hasn’t translated into a sale there. One of those photography mysteries, I guess.

Thanks for taking the time to share this, and congratulations on having two images featured in our Top 25. That’s a real achievement and speaks to the quality of your work.

We understand how frustrating it can feel when recognition or engagement does not translate directly into sales. Picfair works a little differently to traditional marketplaces, as it gives photographers their own store and the tools and guidance to manage it independently. This means you have control over how your work is presented and priced, rather than it sitting within a central marketplace.

Stars and collections are intended to highlight strong work and help with visibility, but sales can still depend on a range of factors, including pricing and how a store is shared.

We genuinely appreciate you sharing your experience, and we are always working on ways to better support photographers in turning visibility into sales. If you would ever like guidance on your store or portfolio, our team is happy to help.

You may also find focus.picfair.com useful, where we share a wide range of expert-written guides on building and growing your Picfair store.

Thanks again!

Thanks for sharing your perspective. We understand that selling photography online can feel challenging, particularly in the early stages.

Picfair is designed to give photographers their own store, full pricing control, and an easy way to sell image licences and prints, rather than operating as a stock marketplace. Income can vary widely depending on subject matter, pricing, and promotion, and for many creators it builds gradually as their portfolio and audience grow.

You may find focus.picfair.com helpful, where we share a wide range of expert-written guides and practical advice on building, promoting, and growing your Picfair store.

We really appreciate you taking the time to leave feedback, and we wish you every success with your photography going forward.
