I recently had a frustrating experience with Pictory.ai that I feel I need to share. First off, the stock footage available on the platform is of very poor quality, which forced me to create my own footage. This was disappointing, especially since I expected a more comprehensive video creation tool.
When I ran into issues, the customer support was virtually non-existent. I encountered a live bot that only directed me to submit a ticket, but I never received any response. This lack of support was incredibly frustrating, particularly when I needed help.
After spending hours working on a project with multiple edits, I was shocked to find that the entire project disappeared the next day and was nowhere to be found in my dashboard. I reached out for support again, but once more, there was no response. It felt like I wasn’t receiving the service I paid for with my subscription.
When I finally decided to cancel my subscription due to these ongoing issues, I found the process to be cumbersome. I had to interact with a bot again, and despite my cancellation request, my subscription remained active. This added to my frustration and dissatisfaction with the service.
The only positive aspect of Pictory.ai was its ease of use, but unfortunately, it didn’t deliver on any other fronts that matter for a video creation platform. Overall, I cannot recommend Pictory.ai based on my experience, as it failed to provide the quality and support I expected

I subscribed three days ago and have been trying to reach customer support ever since—no luck. The chatbot claims to have created a ticket, but won’t show it to me or send it via email. It just says “trust me”... Seriously? In 2025, and you can’t even send a confirmation email?
Maybe they need their own AI to handle something as basic as customer service. I’ll give it a couple more days to see if they finally respond, but so far this has been a terrible experience.
For context: I’m trying to import a custom ElevenLabs voice into Pictory, which, according to the bot, can only be done by the support team. Yet there’s no way to actually contact them. I’ve been trying for three days like I’m playing the lottery. Really disappointing.

The platform does have some positives. It offers different pricing options, is beginner-friendly, and comes with a large image library.
But the issues are hard to ignore. Support takes days to respond, and when they finally do, the answers are often disappointing. The software is extremely slow, full of glitches, and the image search barely works.
I have been a regular customer for months, but I have decided to give up. If you’re just experimenting for fun, it might be worth a try. But if you need something reliable for professional work, stay far away!

I used Pictory recently and while the core video creation features are decent, I encountered serious issues with payment security, data privacy, and poor customer support that make this platform a potential risk for anyone considering it.
🚩 1. No Transparency on Payment Security
There is no mention of PCI-DSS compliance or any credible payment security standards on their site or during checkout. When adding my credit card, I noticed:
No way to delete card details manually – you can only “edit” them.
No clear statement about how and where your card information is stored, or whether it's encrypted or tokenized.
I contacted support multiple times asking for assurance on card storage and data handling — I received vague, one-liner responses with no real answers.
🚩 2. Declined Payments & Security Red Flags
I attempted to upgrade my plan several times, using different valid Visa cards, and each payment was declined repeatedly. Upon checking with my bank, I was told that Visa flagged the merchant due to security concerns — that was extremely alarming.
Only after I shared this information with Pictory’s support team did they agree to delete my card details manually — again, with no explanation or assurance about why this happened or whether other users are affected.
🚩 3. No Option to Fully Cancel or Control Membership
Another troubling issue is that you cannot terminate your membership early without losing all your saved projects. Even if you've paid for a full month or year, cancellation wipes your data immediately instead of letting you use the remaining term. There is no trash bin or project recovery option, which feels manipulative.
🚩 4. Unreliable App & Cold Customer Support
The app hangs or lags even on high-end laptops (I use an Intel Evo-certified machine).
Requires a fair bit of manual editing, which defeats the point of automation.
Support was cold, unhelpful, and often responded with just half-sentences. No escalation, no empathy, no clarity.
❌ Verdict:
While Pictory may look like a useful video tool on the surface, the lack of payment transparency, insecure card handling, and dismissive support make it unfit for handling sensitive user data or financial details. If Visa is actively flagging payments to this platform, users should seriously reconsider.
I’ve since moved to more secure, transparent alternatives like InVideo and Canva Pro.

I'd give this ZERO stars, but that's not an option. Awful awful platform where they clearly have released it with functionality that doesn't work! Their support team are beyond useless, and don't communicate effectively, nor provide clarity on what they are doing to resolve issues. Avoid, avoid avoid!
Edited to add that Pictory responded to ask me to update my review, after they confirmed that they had released software with functionality that doesn't work!!! Seriously??? The absolute audacity! Absolute con artists!

I signed up for Pictory based on their promise of a 14-day free trial, but I was charged the full annual subscription immediately after using just one voice, without any clear warning or explicit consent.
This directly contradicts what is advertised on their website and across various affiliate channels. Furthermore, the service does not deliver what it promises: the platform does not generate AI-based videos as described. This feature was the main reason I decided to try the service.
On top of that, when trying to resolve the issue, I discovered that there is no direct customer support. There is no accessible help center, no support email, and no live chat, making it impossible to submit a complaint or request assistance.
I request a full refund of the charged amount for the following reasons:
The charge was made during the advertised free trial period.
The service does not include AI video generation as claimed.
I canceled the subscription immediately upon discovering this.
I did not actually use the service in any meaningful way.
There is no way to contact support to resolve the issue.
This feels deceptive and misleading. I expect a full refund. If I do not receive a response, I will file a formal dispute with my bank for an unauthorized charge during a supposed free trial.(Actualizacion se comunicaron conmigo para hacer el reembolso)

was charged $327.60 on May 15, 2025, for the annual plan. I wanted to cancel before the renewal but missed it by accident.
I haven’t used the service since. I followed all the instructions to request a refund, but no one has responded.
I’m disappointed and hope they resolve this soon.

They release their "Improvements" whih actually are never properly tested. Then these "improvements" bring so many bugs that makes the entire program impossible to use.
So many headaches because apparently this company is managed on a way that has no respect for paying users.
They just want to release new shiny solutions to attract new users, that then make Annual subscribers not able to continue their projects.

Allegedly, this can take multiple videos and make a highlight reel. None of their tools worked very well. When I wanted to speak to a live agent, their "Pickford" AI agent kept stalling.
This is a useless product.

I have read that when users want to delete their accounts, they have to email you for account deletion. WTH! This web application does not have an account delete option. It's a useless site.

I thoroughly researched and read the promotional content and details about Pictory.ai before purchasing their $49/month Professional Plan. My primary reason for choosing this plan was their claim of access to an 18-million-content library from Getty Images and Storyblocks, which I believed would enable me to create outstanding content.
However, I quickly realized that this was completely misleading. The so-called "18 million content" library is essentially filled with subpar and unusable materials. From what I could gather, Getty Images seems to have dumped their least useful videos and visuals into this collection. The high-quality videos and visuals you'd expect from Getty Images are nowhere to be found in Pictory.ai.
When I reached out to their support team, the response was even more disappointing. It was dismissive and failed to address the issue.
My advice: Look for other companies offering similar services. The gap between what Pictory.ai advertises and what they actually deliver is huge. Don’t waste your time or money on this platform.

Do not use Pictory. They give a free trial period and I cancelled immediately after trying the software and I did not like it. I paid for a full year and clicked on the monthly plan. They will not return my money and cancelled me after the year is up. There is no support to talk to other than a bot. This is not good service.

It could have a huge potential,but it is full of bugs,it is very slow,you can't work with it,even the simplest things don't work.There are other similar services that are light years ahead,for example the right mouse button has no functions on the platform is very annoying.I won't use it anymore.NOT RECOMMENDED.

I have been using Pictory for not even a month and yes it has some pro's if you are looking to create a quick 5 minute short video and that's about as good as it gets. If you want to create anything longer this is where it goes downhill. I have just finished editing a 13 minute video and at multiple times throughout the ai voice keeps glithching adding random oooo's and ahh's and the odd hiccup. Unfortunately it didn't end there. Due to only having the possibility of using 1 audio looped track, and with it only being 1 minute 30 seconds in length that also unfortunately keeps glitching throughout. So basically I have just paid for a service to create a video that took me hours to edit that has been a complete waste of time. The final point I would like to share is that Pictory allow 600 minutes of video creation time, however they only credit you with 120 minutes of premium ai voice time and anything above that you will have to pay for the privilege to continue to use, and due to the overall quality of the standard voiceovers it kind of backs you into a corner to make the further purchases as there is no other option. There are other issues with Pictory, actually too many to mention. If you are thinking about creating quality professional material then I would suggest that you avoid it. The whole vision of Pictory must have looked great on paper however the final delivery and reality is far removed from that vision.
