Hey Tatulee,

Thanks for the feedback. I want to clarify how the flow works and why it's set up this way.

You can start generating thumbnails immediately without an account, but to view the completed results, you need to create a free account and start a trial. The trial itself is completely free and gives you 100 credits with no payment collected, but it does require entering payment details upfront.

This structure exists to protect us from abuse. Without it, bots and bad actors could generate unlimited content at our expense, which would make it impossible for us to offer a legitimate free trial to real users. We're a small, bootstrapped team and the cost of each generation adds up quickly.

I understand the friction this creates, especially if you just want to test the product quickly. But the trial is free, and you can cancel anytime during the 7 days with no charge.

We've reached out to you via Trustpilot to get your account details and see if we can help you get started.

Best regards,
Nick from Pikzels

I’ve been using Pikzels for my thumbnails

I’ve been using Pikzels for my thumbnails, and overall I think it’s a pretty solid tool—especially if you want something fast and easy. What I like most is how quickly it generates ideas. You just type in what you’re looking for, and within seconds you get multiple thumbnail options. It’s great when I’m stuck creatively or need something last minute.

The quality can be really good, especially if you give detailed prompts. Some thumbnails come out super eye-catching and professional looking. That said, it’s not perfect. Sometimes I have to regenerate a few times to get something I’m actually happy with, which can use up credits pretty quickly.

Very impressed by what Pikzels offers

Very impressed by what Pikzels offers. It's not always perfect and sometimes requires multiple prompts, but that's the case with any AI software. Love that it actually bases it's feedback/designs on best practices, that's something ChatGPT and Gemini isn't great at.

My "7-day" trial lasted less than one…

My "7-day" trial lasted less than one day because the trial is based on credits used. As a new user, I made several mistakes that burned through my credits. In order to complete my project, I had to sign up for a subscription. Very deceptive marketing. Over the next week I worked with the software to create thumbnails, using prompts I received from very experienced users. My results were terrible. Yes I was new but I found the outputs very disappointing. The look of the thumbnails could best be described as AI slop. I gave up and started using another platform that I could be successful with, even as a beginner. Much higher quality, much lower cost. Customer service would not honor my request for a refund. Their deceptive marketing, combined with their very strict policy sets customers up to fail. By the time I used the product long enough to make an informed decision, I was past their 24-hour refund window. I do NOT recommend this product or this company. They are not honest or forthright in their messaging. I am out the money for an annual subscription for a product I will not use again. Shame on me for not going with the monthly plan. Highly disrecommend

Hey Carey,

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. I want to address the points you've raised.

To clarify how our trial works: you get 100 free credits to test the platform with no payment required. The trial doesn't expire after one day, it continues until you either use those 100 credits or decide to upgrade.

Based on your review, it sounds like you used the trial credits, then chose to subscribe to an annual plan to continue your project, and then worked with the platform over the following week before requesting a refund. Our refund policy is outlined clearly on our website and in our terms: subscriptions become non-refundable once a substantial amount of credits have been used, regardless of plan duration. We're a small, bootstrapped team and every generation has real costs on our end that add up quickly.

On quality: Pikzels is purpose-built for YouTube thumbnails in ways that general tools aren't, but it's not a fit for everyone. If the outputs didn't meet your expectations even with guidance from experienced users, I understand the frustration.

We've reached out to you via Trustpilot to get your account details so we can review what happened and ensure everything was handled correctly on our end.

Best regards,
Nick from Pikzels

Extremely helpful and easy to use!

I’ve been using Pikzels for a while now and it has completely changed my workflow. What I like most is how intuitive the AI is at generating high-quality thumbnails that actually look professional. Before this, I used to spend hours on design, but now I can get a great result in just a few clicks.

The interface is very user-friendly and the templates are modern and catchy. It’s genuinely helpful because it understands the style I'm going for without me needing advanced design skills. It’s a reliable tool that does exactly what it promises!

A Serious Upgrade for AI Thumbnails

I was searching for an easy, high-quality thumbnail generator to support my video workflow. I currently use CapCut and Opus for editing, but neither platform offers true AI-driven thumbnail capabilities — especially features like persona/face manipulation or intelligent video-based thumbnail generation.

I specifically wanted a tool that could:

Upload a video and extract strong thumbnail frames

Support persona or face-swap style enhancements

Use AI prompt engineering to improve creative direction

After researching (including recommendations surfaced through ChatGPT), I initially tested Thumbmagic. It was suggested as having video-upload thumbnail creation capability. However, in practice, that functionality was not available — despite being advertised.

I continued testing it, but the platform felt early-stage. The feature set is still developing, and the workflow lacks refinement.

Pikzels, on the other hand, feels like a mature product.

What stands out:

AI thumbnail generation that actually works

In-platform editing and retry options

“Virality score” feedback

One-step Quick Fix adjustments

Strong prompt control

And most importantly — the “Enhance Prompt” feature

The Enhance Prompt tool is my favorite. I can enter a basic idea, click enhance, and the system intelligently rewrites and expands my prompt into something far more optimized and creative. It dramatically improves output quality without requiring me to be an AI prompt engineer.

From a workflow perspective, Pikzels integrates smoothly with a professional content pipeline. It doesn’t feel experimental — it feels production-ready.

If you are serious about YouTube CTR optimization and want more control over thumbnail performance, Pikzels is currently the stronger platform.
