I canceled my Placit membership last year, but I noticed they kept charging me despite my account showing as a free account!!!!!!!
I reached out multiple times and provided clear evidence, including screenshots of free account getting charged, but got no proper resolution. This is ridiculous and feels like a scam.
I’m now taking this up with my bank and consumer protection agencies. Absolutely disappointed with their lack of transparency and responsibility.

They are one giant scam. I cancelled my subscription but was still charged a yearly subscription on renewal. I contacted their customer support and they haven’t bothered to reply. Nearly a week later. I tried cancelling through my credit card company but these scammers still have to agree to it. DO NOT SUBSCRIBE. DO NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT CARD DETAILS. DO NOT USE APPLE SIGN IN!!! They will steal your money.
Devious Placeit
I had subscribed to Placeit on the 29th of June 2024 at a annual cost of $119.99 plus VAT.
On the 30th of May 2025 they informed me that the subscription had been reduced to $89.99 plus VAT, and would be reflected on my next billing cycle.
I wanted to cancel anyway, but postponed, and subsequently forgot to cancel, but then imagine my surprise when they deducted $147.59 on the 29th of June 2025. That was not the $89.99 plus VAT that they had informed me of.
I queried, and Rick M from their support team took my case, and in every correspondence they made me out to be stupid, and that they would do me a favour and lower my plan, and give me a partial refund.....but I first need to specifically beg for this refund.
This company and their support team are an absolute joke, and obviously rely on customers not noticing or not bothering to request refunds.
I am obviously tied into another year of their subscription, but have already cancelled, so the next billing cycle I will be rid of them, and will never look back.
Good but could be so much better
I purchased the annual subscription on offer as I felt it was good value. Its a good platform but has its flaws. For me the filter and search function is very poor and looks like it is lazily managed. Its difficult to find what you are looking for unless you scroll page after page going through non-relevant content.

I’ve used PlaceIt for a couple of years but hadn’t in quite a while. I was caught off guard when a yearly renewal hit my account, so I requested a refund. I was told that, per their terms of use, renewal reminders are not sent — which is not typical of most reputable companies, especially for annual subscriptions.
They offered only a partial credit. Customer Service (Rick) and I went back and forth for several days, but they stood firm, and I eventually accepted the partial refund. I sincerely hope PlaceIt will consider adding renewal reminders in the future rather than relying on fine print buried in their terms. It would go a long way toward building trust and fostering customer loyalty.

On May 31, I was mistakenly charged for an annual Placeit subscription. I contacted support within 30 minutes and received a response (ticket #3896318) confirming that if Envato didn’t claim the funds, a refund would be issued no later than June 9.
Today is the end of June 9 (Melbourne time), and I have received no refund and no follow-up whatsoever.
This is highly unprofessional. The support team is completely silent despite the clear case and ticket confirmation.
If no action is taken immediately, I will file a chargeback through my bank and report this publicly.

If I am going to use a mockup for my brand why the shirt has to be something else that is not my brand and cannot be changeble or like a hat that has nothing to do whit your authenthic brand, also i hate the gym outfits that the legging is changeable but the sport bra or shirt it isnt. we are paying to build a brand and your limitless , right know the best one is mockey hopefully they put gym outfits but there models are legit and is only mockups for puting your brand. Back to place it ,They should only put on mockups hats ,shirts jeans, leggings, shoes accessories ,etc that are changeable if not please give me the option to take it out also anything on the background . I don’t recommend for nobody. The mockup is unusable, very blurry. They have no free plan, and literally the free plan is unusable. I paid 100£ ( they have no offer monthly pay) for subscriptions I sent 3 emails one week ago, nobody responded. What is make me mad they don’t care at all. Take your money only they care, no guarantees , no customer service. It’s worst app ever used
Predatory and scamming behaviour
Absolutely predatory behaviour. I thought I cancelled my subscription a year ago, but then realised that they have been quite charging my card every month.
I've tried to cancel it again and almost fell for the same trap - their flow is designed in a way that's they trick you to staying on the platform, i.e you think you canceled but if you are not careful you actually end up staying.
Do not recommend at all.
I asked for a full refund, they declined it.
Stay away from these scammers.
Predatory Company
Predatory Company - I absolutely cancelled my membership months ago because I found their products not helpful at all. I know for a fact I cancelled, yet today I got charged my last $90!! I haven't even opened this product for almost a year. I emailed their customer service immediately and reported the charge but they have not replied. I went again today to see what went wrong - when you go to cancel your account they have the buttons intentionaly switched to make it look like the button you click for confirm cancellation on any other site on theirs tricky tricky says "keep". So you go through the process to cancel and at the last min they do a bait and switch and you're on the line for the next year. I am reporting this here as well as to the FTC and Consumer Protection Bureau. This is absolutely ridiculous and this company and Envato should be ashamed of the shady business practices they use to rob people of money they don't have. I will be reporting this up the corporate chains via Linkedin as well. I WANT MY REFUND, REPLY!

I forgot to cancel my subscription and haven’t been using it. I emailed their support team a week ago but haven’t received a response. Since I haven’t used the service, and you can verify that on your end, I don’t believe I should have to pay for it. I contacted you immediately on the same day I was charged, but no one has responded. Please address this issue as soon as possible.
