impressive service made by a single guy, some bugs here and there, support from one guy also impressive. Lacks some documentation. can be difficult to understand for non-techy people.

To start things off I just wanna say most of the bad reviews on this service are from people who either cant read instructions for more then 2 seconds or think playit is some magic that will automatically run at full capacity on their trash internet.

Well I think its time to update my review as it is almost 2 years old at this point.
To start things off let me just say playit is a awesome service made by an amazing guy. He is and has been a solo dev developing playit and giving support for over 5 years now. If i remember correctly, Patrick was paying for playit out of pocket up until around mid 2024. That just shows how dedicated to this service he really is and should dispel any doubts about his commitment.

Now for the actual updated review of playit. Playit.gg has been one of my most used services over the last four and a halfish years and let me tell you that is for good reason. Playit offers a way around cgnat and a way to hide your ip while hosting just about any game server, website, or other service under the sun. The client is designed in a clean and lightweight style and never (yes I mean never) experiences any issues. The data centers on the other hand still could use some improvement but are overall very stable and fast and it seems that the days of random playit downtime are almost gone. The playit website looks nice and is intuitive to use and is not as prone to random slowdowns as it used to be.

So far I haven't really mentioned playit premium and the other paid addons so lets get on to that now, starting with premium. Playit premium is, to put it simply, playit, but like 3x better for a very low cost. Premium allows extra ports to be used plus many other useful things such as more firewall rules, ect... The other 2 paid options addons cant match premium for the value per money spent but still are very compelling. For $6 a month you can rent a dedicated ip from playit that allows you to use any ports you could possibly want. Paired with playit premium this is a very powerful tool to have allowing you to give any service/game their default port. This not only gives a more seamless experience but also allows for services without a port specification option to be utilized. Now for the final paid addon, a dedicated playit subdomain. This is arguably the least worth buying out of any of the 3 main playit addons. However, as with everything playit, it is hard to call it totally useless. A dedicated playit subdomain is a good way to get around isp blocking or give your server a unique feel and thats about it. But it is also the cheapest playit addon and will hardly make a dent in most peoples wallets.

You might be thinking, After all the good things you mentioned above there must be at least a few cons right? Well yes sadly you are correct, although they are more of annoyances then cons. First and foremost, even after all patrick has done to prevent this it is still common to find playit domains and ips on malware blocklists. In turn this causes some isps to block playit domains on their network. (THIS DOES NOT MEAN PLAYIT IS MALEWARE) However, there are a few ways around this annoyance. The first and easiest option is to share the ip of the tunnels to your players instead of the domain. This will often work but in the off chance it doesn't you can have affected players use a vpn to connect to your server or you can buy a playit subdomain as those are not blocked quite as often. You can also buy an external domain off of a service like cloudflare and have it redirect to your playit tunnels (this is the solution I use) but there is a cost to this and it will usually come to the price of around 6 to 80 $ a year depending on the domain.

That's the current state of playit today from my point of view.

Extremely Disappointing Experience

High Latency and Connectivity Issues: I experienced extremely high latency, which made the service nearly unusable. Despite repeatedly assuring support that the issue wasn’t related to my firewall, they continued to blame it on my setup. Time and time again, I clarified that the problem was not on my end, but their support couldn’t offer any real solution.
Limited Domain Support: I struggled with getting the service to run on a single port, which was a major frustration. It's clear that the service isn’t as flexible as it claims to be.
Awful Customer Support: The support team was unhelpful and only referred to what’s available in the documentation, offering no real troubleshooting or assistance. They failed to address my actual issues, which I saw in many other support threads as well.
Terrible Overall Experience: Between the poor support and technical issues, this company ranks among the worst I've ever dealt with—along with @nonamen_.
Fazil Malik's Review Is Spot On: After my own experience, I can confirm that Fazil’s review accurately describes the service.
Negative Reviews Are Consistent: Complaints from others, like Harrys, Kernos, and many more, highlight that these issues are widespread and not just isolated to my case.
No Built-In Features: There’s no built-in option to run the service in the background or set it to start up automatically. This is something users are forced to figure out themselves.
Support is Out of Touch: The support team only knows what’s in the documentation and couldn’t troubleshoot my issues. Many of the support threads show that these problems have been ongoing and unresolved.
Limited Compatibility: As Tobias Rodriguez pointed out, "It doesn’t support crossplay for Minecraft natively," and that’s absolutely true.
Outdated Website and Slow Performance: Playit’s website is slow and outdated, and the tunnels perform just as poorly—reliable only in the rarest instances.
Cloudflare Tunnels Are More Expensive, But Reliable: While Cloudflare tunnels are costly to run, they at least work and provide a more stable experience compared to Playit.
If you’re dealing with similar issues, you can reach out to Playit’s support for a refund at support @playit.gg, though I wouldn't expect much help.

In conclusion, I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for a more reliable and professional service.

Playit works great and is easy to setup. Highly recommend this over just forwarding. Patrick is running an amazing service and is good at replying in the discord channels if you need any help.

its a nice app for you if you are stuck behind cgnat or cant access your wifi or want to host a mc server on your home sever but the support isint the best it would be nice if there was a live chat other then discord or an email.

This site is malicious and has no customer support to address queries. I used its service for my NVR, and accidentally accessed that IP from my office laptop, which triggered a security incident. As a result, I was fired from my job. Interestingly, the cybersecurity team did not understand the situation properly.

very bad latency + disconnects me every 10min or so and its just terrible

It's a great proxy provider! I was having a hard time sharing my server with friends, especially, because I can't really forward ports, which would also be insecure. This allowed me to host a Minecraft Server with multiple ports for things like Geyser, Simple Voice Chat, and it all works! The free tier is very fair and usable and pings are not that high, about 30ms in my experience. For more control and options the premium tier is also a good improvement and not even that expensive. Awesome service and respect worthy, especially because they provide such a good free experience! 👍

this sh8t company suck it does not even work i tried all tutorials I found and still does not work can you guys fix this stupid bug ass?

Excellent product, nothing comes close in terms of convenience and price. Customer service and support is excellent. The only issues I have with this service are ones that are unavoidable when using any sort of tunneling product.

I've been using PLAYIT like a year now, its still a W, free hostings are trash, W on playit, BEST HOSTING COMPANY EVER EXISTED!

I love hosting my rat on play.it.gg it is 100% the best for hosting rats there is only 1 thing it crash's the rat a lot but i love hosting rats on here i love you patrick.
