Disappointing experience
Waited nearly two months for the charger to finally be installed. All requested photos were sent across and an appointment for installation confirmed. At that first visit it was established that the main earth cable to the property needed updating before the charger could be installed. I was given incorrect information on who I needed to contact and Plug In said they would deal direct with power company to ensure correct information was provided. I phoned about 5 times before establishing that this wasn’t actually happening and eventually booked an appointment myself with the power company to rectify.
Once completed it was a further two weeks before an available appointment, which was subsequently cancelled during the expected window of arrival, due to engineer delays on existing job.
Finally got the charger installed nearly two months after the initial visit, during which time I was paying a fortune for public charging.

Unbelievable customer service
I was awaiting installation of a charger for my new EV, not filled with confidence from their technical team as they advised I would need wires and an independent consumer unit in places l was very unhappy with. Up comes Jack S, what a ray of sunshine!! He listened to my requests even though I knew they could not feasibly be achieved. He installed the unit inside my electricity box and installed the charger just where I wanted it without a cable in sight. I am blown away, he listened, installed and even helped me with the app and set-up. Customer service at its very best - thank you, I’m a very happy customer!

Excellent Comms but not great commissioning
Communications were excellent for the quote, booking and installation.
For the installation, no CT clamp was installed, which is fine but the charger was left with the setting of CT charger / load balancing set to ‘ON’. Result was defaulting to half charging current. The installers didn’t mention this at the time of installation. This was a charger replacement, where a CT clamp wasn’t already in place. Just incorrect commissioning.

EV charger installation with Plug In Stations was a great experience. Booking in the service was easy enough and the flexible payment option - very helpful. On the day, our installation was performed by Jason who was competent, professional and communication throughout was great to ensure all went smoothly with minimal interruption. He showed us all the work he'd done and provided a detailed rundown of the app to get us setup straight away. Would recommend these folks and the Ohme EV charger to all

Excellent customer service and EV charger installation within days
EV charger was installed within 10days as advertised and committed. Installation took hardly 1.5hrs from scratch to end -charging my EV. Based on my experience, I would recommend Plug In Stations to everyone.

My charger install
The fitter Kareem was very friendly and the charger and associated wiring were fitted quickly and professionally.He helped set up the app and gave me a run through on how to use it.
I set up a new EV tariff which is going to reduce my monthly payments so l topped up the car last night by 30% and it cost just 48pence.Very pleased thankyou.

Unprofessional Install
Install of an Ohme Pro charge point paid for by Manufacturer as part of promotion. Very rushed job, before could even have a discussion about cable placement they'd started drilling holes in the soffits. Pulled up insulation and couldn't be bothered to lay it back down again. Remedial work needed as couldn't get box placement on the wall done properly - even though this is all they're doing all day - just kept blaming his apprentice. When moving the unit, as it was raining couldn't be bothered to get a spirit level just eyeballed it even though was holding umbrellas for him and I offered to get a spirit level, it was "a walk back to the van" - told him to just leave it in the end and I'll do it myself. Wiring in the brand new consumer unit was messy at best with a wago box thrown in, my normal electrician said they've done a messy job as soon as he came back around to sign off the board. Most concerning, after install the connection to the consumer unit was buzzing! Turns out they hadn't done the connections up properly! Fortunately I'd had the prescence of mind to not use it and contact them to come out and fix. Installer blamed his apprentice for all of the errors, was a very odd guy and to be honest a bit abrupt / rude - not necessarily to me but just wasn't very professional. Installer did earth testing wrong, as said we have too high a reading for a PME connection.... but missed the fact that (as national grid have now told me having come back out to check, after their concerns were raised with them) that it's pretty obvious the PME earth hasn't been connected yet to the board. Which, them having shown me, yes it's pretty obvious the PME earth isn't connected... Their (polite) suggestion is the guy didn't know what he was looking at. Overall it's a pass from me. Clearly doing volume and rushed. Pre-install service was all fine, good communication from head office and requirements gathering, I suspect just bad luck with our nominated installer.
