Be careful with this company -poor customer service when things go wrong.m

Be careful with this company. Our experience is woeful. We had to disembark from the Arvia in August, early due to a family medical emergency.
The pre paid restaurants we didn’t use, the unused spa package, the pro rata wine package and being overcharged on the last night (all raised with guest services on board and allegedly cancelled by them) STILL NOT refunded. Totals over £600. Thats over three weeks from disembarking (24 days)! I thought p&o were reputable, but their actions prove otherwise. And this is at a time where my son is still very ill in hospital! It’s stress I don’t need and despite emails and contacting on FB we are no further forward.
P&O you should be ashamed!
Review updated because I finally managed to speak to a human being. They didn’t know what day we had disembarked, despite them providing a letter to the same. They didn’t know why we hadn’t been refunded everything (only a small refund of £43 sent). They blamed the staff on board.
But I dealt with a lady called Esther who appears to have gripped the situation and says we will be refunded within 14 days, now she has personally processed them. I will update further

Once again a brilliant holiday with P&O. This time a short break but we thoroughly enjoyed all we did. We were looked after extremely well from the moment we arrived at the port till we left. The food was amazing and the staff are so nice and helpful all the time. Totally recommend if you are thinking of doing a cruise.

Just returned from a cruise to Hamburg…

Just returned from a cruise to Hamburg and Brugge on Aurora. Fantastic experience from dropping the car off at the terminal, booking in to disembarking. First time using Freedom Dining and it was so easy. However, it made me think that the cruise lines need to offer more tables for 2 as on every occasion we were seated alone on a table for 4 or 6. There’s clearly a demand for small tables!
Two cruises this year as we celebrated our Golden Wedding Anniversary on Azura in April sailing to Croatia and Greece. Both have been everything we could have wished for.

Arvia to Norway - amazing (but watch out for the Moaners)

Just back from Norway, stunning country on a fabulous ship. Third time on Arvia and we love it. Staff are so friendly and helpful, good food, great bars and entertainment. The only down point? Sadly it is the occasional passenger who finds fault in everything. This ranged from someone yelling at a young member of staff to 'speak English better' and the oddest moan I've ever heard - 'the buffet plate is too heavy'. My advice to anyone looking to book on Arvia (and other P&O tbf) is ignore the complaining reviews. They are a tiny minority of people who will never be happy!

first ever cruise to the norwegian fjords

first ever cruise to the norwegian fjords with p and o, what a truly amazing experience, our ship, arvia was so clean and well maintained, the staff were excellent and so polite, the food choice and bar choice were also excellent, considering the amount of people we always found somewhere to sit and chill, we have never cruised before and p and o have made our decision to cruise again with them, thank you to all who made this cruise one to never forget x

Terrible post cruise customer service

My review has been given 2 stars as the cruises are usually ok, mostly with exceptional staff below management level. However, the post cruise customer service is probably the worst I have ever experienced. Since our return on 25 June I have been trying to contact P & O for a response to a horrendous experience on board Britannia. Every message I send says I will have a response within 28 days but nothing further is forthcoming. No help on the phone or by messenger. I have even sent emails to Paul Ludlow not expecting him to reply but hoping someone in his office would make an effort to respond. P & O Cruises make it very clear that they could not care less about their passengers.

The staff on Brittania were incredible

The staff on Brittania were incredible. Nothing was too much trouble. Food was amazing. Smoothest fastest embarkation ever. Only criticism is watch out for the spa. The staff will give you a really hard sell at the end of your treatment.

Baltic cruise

Just returned from a 2 week Baltic cruise. Overall we had no major issues and most of the holiday was fantastic. I have to mention the singers and dancers on the Britannia, they were fabulous and so hard working. The food in all the restaurants we ate was lovely and as I have coeliac disease I felt very safe eating there. It’s all marked on the menus or on little plaques with any allergens present so you just avoid them. Plenty of choices to eat, loved it. This was our 3rd cruise with P&O in 3 years and can’t imagine it will be our last.

P&O cruises are like a well oiled machine. Transport to the ship, boarding process and organisation are at a high standard and they provide good value for money.
Ship was fairly new and was spacious and had good facilities when you consider the numbers of passengers on board. Highly recommend.

Quite the worst cruise experience

Having been widowed 6 years ago I looked forward to returning to cruising with friends. We boarded the ship 'ARVIA' for a week long cruise to the Norwegian fjords on 30th August 2026.
P&O would never have been one of my most favoured cruise companies but previous experiences had been ok. Not this time. I paid a small fortune to travel as a solo passenger in a balconied cabin. It felt like a rabbit hutch, even as a solo. The food was anything from rubbish to good but in the main the former. Once you learned to avoid a cooked breakfast (dried up and tasteless) it was not so bad. Never bothered with lunch, never a joyous experience in the scrum of the buffet and dinner was of mixed offering, (the first in the Meridian was returned dried up, cold and uneaten). Although the Indian was particularly good - so not all awful.
The water leak in the adjacent cabin was disturbing from the noise of the fans used to try and dry it out, and because the water contamination spread to my cabin. Reception was particularly disinterested when I attempted to talk with them about it. "Come back in the morning they said". Most everything was of poor quality with a disinterested and apparently poorly motivated crew. Senior figures were entirely conspicuous by their absence. This was nothing. like any cruise previously
experienced, (and I had done dozens).
ICING on the pretty horrible cake was when I asked medical if they had a particular GSL medicine on board for purchase but they would not do so without an entirely unnecessary consultation that would have scammed another £80 from my wallet. Never did find out what they might have hijacked for the medication.
It has not put me off further cruising......nothing could be worse than this experience and I have only covered some of the negatives from mu P&O experience

Enjoyable Cruise.

Traveled on Ventura for a 4 day trip to Amsterdam, enjoyed our trip but another stop would have been good.
Food, a little hotter in the Horizon but, good choices.
Cabin, all good.
Ship in good condition
Daytime entertainment very good but, Headliner shows absolutely superb
Over all an excellent trip.
My main complaint is not being able to get a drinks package, not even one for soft drinks, coffee etc. On the Horizon news letter, when we boarded, imagine our surprise that a drinks package was available, went to purchase one only to be told at reception, misprint, no package available there, were a lot of not very happy people. This was my only complaint for this trip. We then boarded IONA for a week in Norway superb.

I’ve just got back on Ariva cruise first time for us , from Norwegian Floyd’s what a week we have had, it’s been amazing , all the views have been breathtaking. Our cabin was on deck 15 with balcony it was lovely just to sit and view the ocean. The food was great we had no issues enjoyed where we wanted to eat on the day. The staff were all amazing all around. So easy once at the port at Southampton parked car at cps what a breeze that was, just get out of the car a hand ya keys over , just walk across the pelican crossing and you are at the door to drop off our cases , then straight in we went , to get my dad sorted with wheelchair assistance , they checked us in then straight onto the ship. All within 40 mins !!!!!!

Iona Norwegian Fjords

Just back from Norwegian Fjords on the beautiful Iona. The largest P&O cruise ship, but don't let that put you off. This was our first cruise, we were concerned about it being too busy, but it was fine. Everyone is busy going about their own day.
Deck 5 balcony, was perfect for us. Loved being so close to the sea, the actual cabin was more spacious than we anticipated.
Bars and entertainment were all good. Main dining room menus had a good choice. We used them throughout the week, mainly for dinner, but we did also visit for lunch once and a few times for breakfast. Service was quick. Our only real issue was if we were sat near the waiter / waitress stations, it could become rather loud when they were putting away the cuterley. Sounds daft, but gosh it was loud!
Buffet offered varied choice, we found it a little hectic, but once we knew the layout of the food, it was ok. Considering the amount of people using the food services, the food overall is excellent.
The Quays food we found to be tasty and a little different to the buffet.
Embarkation and disembarkation was efficient and well organised.
Overall, we were pleased with our first cruise and had a wonderful week. We would book deck 5 mid to front cabin again, handy for deck 3 gangway on port days. We were also by deck 6 to access to The Atrium for my morning costa!
All staff were great that we came across and our cabin steward looked after us well.
We would book P&O in the future.
