AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND AVOID…

AVOID AT ALL COSTS AND AVOID MYCONSTRUCTOR who should be never contracting them in the fist place!
I had them allocated for EICR via MyConstructor booking and in line with the rest of reviews, they cancelled and suggested to reschedule the EICR app at 4pm for the EICR app next morning.
Now struggling to get a refund from MyConstructor who needs Polarity to confirm that they haven't attended the app which they delay doing or simply can't be bothered to do.

EICR

Rubbish company. I booked through my constructor. Com and fell into the same trap as others. I expected my EICR to pass but it failed with works quoted at over £500. The engineer did not arrive on the agreed date and I received a text the day before to say he won’t be coming. I also had to chase up for my report which I finally got 2 weeks later. They failed to answer text messages or pick up the phone . AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Awful service. Overpriced remedial work for EICR, shocking customer service

Polarity entice you in with a cheap EICR but then catch you out with over priced remedial work. They completed the EICR inspection on my property, failed it on two plug sockets and quoted £300 to repair! They then failed to respond to me for over a month as I wanted to challenge the quote. I've ended up going with a different electrician to fix the issues and re-do the EICR for less than polarity wanted for the remedial work. Such a joke!

I am absolutely flabbergasted at the unprofessional behaviour of your member of staff.
I was there to get the report and understand if there were any issues.
During the time he said nothing, failed me for things like an unscrewed ceiling rose (as wede painted) so instead of pointing it out he kept quiet and failed me.
In terms of other items that I have no clue what they mean, instead of him pointing them.out he said nothing. He then said all.done and left.
What an absolute unhelpful person. I now have to redo the certificate and.lose a lot of time.getting into the property.
I really do not recommend this company.

2023 experience: excellent

My experience with Polarity has been great. I’m always very nervous about having any work done in my house because I’ve been burned by rubbish tradesmen and poor customer service before. But I’ve been really pleasantly surprised by the work Polarity have done for me. They did a swift EICR report for me when I needed it and more recently replaced all my electric fan heaters with liquid filled electric radiators. The communication prior to the job was good, the workmen were extremely polite and hoovered up after themselves afterwards which was lovely (and unusual in my experience with tradesmen!). The electrician also programmed my heaters for me and took time and patience to show me how to amend the settings myself which really made all the difference to me.

I will definitely use Polarity for any future electrical work if I need it.

Stay away from this company at all…

Stay away from this company at all costs. Booked EICR with this company through Myconstructor.
The quote given for Remedial works was five times the figure any Professional Electrician will give. On top of that when you go ahead with their quote, they will not stick to the schedule agreed. The follow up from their Office nothing but desirable.
If you take up the high cost quote Polarity will blame My constructor. My constructor will wash their hands off conveniently. Basically both companies work without any good practices acceptable to the general public.
I did take it up very politely with both companies about the difficulties faced due to them and net result was Zero. Both are not customer focused.

Don't waste your time with these jokers.

They clearly don't understand how to communicate.

This is a scam

This is a scam. Avoid at all cost. Booked them through mycontructor to produce a EICR. They didn’t produce a certificate but instead sent me a dodgy report (which is meaningless) and followed up with a quote for a £1500 to repair things that were perfectly working. I showed their “report” to a certified electrician, he said this piece of paper worth nothing, doesn’t have any test results and doesn’t have a serial number.
They spent in a property about 20 minutes whereas a proper certificate requires at least a 2 hours of testing.
They even asked me to count the number of sockets in the property. They didn’t check any of them. These people shouldn’t be trusted. I don’t know why mycontructor still have them listed.

HIRE AT YOUR OWN PERIL!!!

DO NOT HIRE!!!
Total scam. The person arriving at the property was completely dirty. I had to clean after him...
They found non-existing issues at the property which is only 8 years old and never modified! The electrician was 18-20 years old and by the way he hold the screwdriver I could tell he has never done any work in his life!!! I have genuine reason to believe he did intentional damage. Total scam.
My background (I am electrical engineer with a masters degree and 20 years experience)
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!

Good reliable service

I have used Polarity Electrics Ltd since 2020 at least on 3 separate occasions. I have found the firm reliable and reasonably priced. I have a very positive experience as a landlord whilst dealing with Mr Haydn, Polarity Electrics and would definitely recommend the firm for EICR and electric inspections.

Avoid at all costs

Had them visit to do an EICR certificate
Ended up with an extortionate quote for unnecessary work
If something is too cheap there is always a reason

Absolute con artists through and…

Absolute con artists through and through. My daughter contacted My Constructor.co.uk for an electrician to do a EICR report. They put her onto this shower! The guy was there for about 10/15 minutes only. He failed on the consumer panel, agreed it did not comply. He also failed on the bathroom light fitting saying it did not conform for its location - zone 2. It does it is IP44 rated. had he looked inside the fitting he would has seen the label that clearly shows IP44 rated. he did not remove any sockets for inspection he did not even open the electric meter cupboard. How could he do a thorough inspection in 10/15 minutes he quoted just under £600 for the replacement consumer panel plus £180 to replace the bathroom light, a new light is about £20, not that it needed one anyway. £100 for an inspection that was as far as we are concerned invalid. Looking at reviews why are they still being used by My Constructor, clearly they have no morals using this bunch of rogues. Avoid both like the plague!!

Exploited my elderly relative

My elderly relative's kitchen fan wouldn't turn off and her usual electrician had Covid so she looked in Yellow Pages and unfortunately chose Polarity Electrics Ltd. They came round on 14/10/21, made the fan stop and charged £96. A couple of weeks later, the fan wouldn't turn off again. She called Polarity again who came round, repeated what they did first time and demanded another £96. On 16/11/21 the fan cord broke and the fan wouldn’t turn off again. They came round again and charged another £96 to stop the fan running continuously. An ethical supplier would have suggested replacing the fan. To the best of my knowledge, Polarity Electrics didn't suggest this, instead preferring to turn my relative into a steady income stream for themselves.

Rip off quotes for entirely unnecessary work

I had 7 Electrical Installation Condition Reports done by Polarity Electrics subcontracted via MyConstructor.com. All 7 were assessed unsatisfactory. The Polarity Electrics electrician took less than 5 hours to do ALL 7 inspections where the Certsure guidance is 3 to 4 hours EACH. The electrician failed to inspect any switches or sockets at all. There followed various exchanges with MyConstructor, Polarity Electrics and its regulatory body NICEIC who confirmed that NONE of the alleged unsatisfactory items were in fact a problem as they complied fully with the 16th Edition of the Wiring Regulations which applied when the installations were done. Polarity should have given 7 satisfactory reports. Instead Polarity had quoted over £1700 do do this entirely unnecessary work, which another qualified electrician priced at £200! Polarity Electrics refused to come back and do the job properly, MyConstructor refused to find an alternative electrician. I eventually had the fee returned but in my view Polarity Electrics are in it to rip unsuspecting landlords off with extortionate prices for doing completely unnecessary work. Knowing what Polarity are like it is frightening that MyConstructor have used Polarity Electrics to do over 500 EICRs and are continuing to use them. NICEIC seem to be utterly useless too in terms of allowing their members to behave in this dishonest way without sanction. I suggest everyone avoids MYConstructor, Polarity Electrics and any other NICEIC approved contractor.

Booked an EICR via Myconstructor

Booked an EICR via Myconstructor, they passed this to Polarity Electrics Ltd, for 12:00 - 13:30 appointment, at 13:30 Polarity electrics texted to say could not attend, tried calling and they did not answer, texted them to call me and they did not call, only text messages. Complained to Myconstructor and they booked me with someone else.
I will not use Polarity Electrics Ltd, customer service is poor.
