An excellent site to host your portfolio.

PosterSpy is a staple in the alternative movie poster scene, working with and supporting the artists and designers in the space to the utmost of their abilities.

In a modern social media landscape which progressively makes it harder and harder to get your work out there and make connections, PosterSpy offers an incredible haven for designers to not only host their portfolios, but to also gain connections and develop friendships with other designers.

I personally would not be where I am in my career without the support and assistance of PosterSpy.

A great platform supporting artists

A great platform supporting artists of all kinds, not only does this platform showcase our work, provide us with an online portfolio, but it also looks after the community of artists & designers, constantly representing and highlighting members' work to the world. They provide a lot of support, content and advice. An incredible team behind Poster Spy and the work they do. Would undoubtedly recommend Poster Spy to anyone thinking of joining as a free member, paid or going to their store. Great community to be part of!

I'm an experienced working illustrator and designer

I'm an experienced working illustrator, designer and creative director and Posterspy is one of those rare folio and community sites that's a great authentic place to be and in promoting artists.

It's got an active community and the Posterspy team do a great job of promoting the site, the artists and in showcase opportunities through art challenges. They also have competitions and paid for projects you throw your hat into being considered for.

BUT! the paid for folio is even better value for a one year folio subscription. There's a few great perks that come with it starting with a bigger folio and unlimited uploads.

I signed up for one year to give it a try and this is my second year in and I won't be cancelling my subscription any time soon. The team are super friendly and respond to quiries directly.

Thank. you Jack!

A great site for poster artists

A great site. I'm a Poster artist, and it was the first platform where posting felt so beneficial! The people who run it keep improving the experience and interface with lots of little additions, challenges, and support on Discord. Now I'm a pro member, and it's nice to feel like you're truly part of a supportive community of artists!

PosterSpy is an amazing platform for illustrators

PosterSpy has been amazing since day one. I've been there close to 6 years now, I think and is now my main portfolio page.
It’s not just a place to host your portfolio, it really feels like a home for artists and designers in the pop culture world. You get to connect with other creatives, see what everyone’s working on, and share your own work. Plus, there are tons of resources, commission opportunities, and projects that actually help you get noticed and find jobs.

They put a lot of effort into supporting and promoting artists, and I’m genuinely grateful for everything they do. PosterSpy is for me the perfect platform to showcase my work.

PosterSpy = 🐐

Easily the best and most creative collection of Alternative Movie posters on the Internet! With an unrivalled interactive community and 24/7 help from the team, it is more than worth a sign up to share your artwork and receive great feedback, all while growing as an artist! Plenty of opportunities for paid work as-well in the form of carefully selected commissions.

Fake free plan & weak explore tool

I designed posters for fun, and I wanted somewhere to upload them, so a poster showcase platform sounded ideal, even though their explore page is a tad faulty (doesnt display every relevant result, get stuck past a point when you scroll down...).

Anyways, PosterSpy offers a free account option but it has to be verified first (to preserve the platform from AI and bots, according to the ToU). That verification is said to take 24 hours at most, which sounds a bit long to confirm i am indeed a human but who cares.

Except they just forget about it. 24hours later and still nothing : I had added details about my life, what tools I use, a profile pic and such all because the website claimed that would speed up the process. Apparently, it did'nt. They did recommend to add a portfolio as well to do so, but as I said, I worked for fun, i am not a professional artist, and therefore I do not have a portfolio (if anything, I'd build one on there).

I sent the team an email to complain about the missed deadline and ONLY THEN did I receive a one-line email saying my registration had been denied. Funny thing is, I could just make a new one with the exact same info. Only this time, denial only took five minutes. So basically there's a free plan but you can't access it - and you have to wait more than a whole day to learn about it? LOL. When I complained once more, they replied that i'm not an artist and I did not submit a portfolio (which at no point they made mandatory).

But if I already had a portfolio elsewhere, why would I need their services - which aren't even optimal? Rebuttal for a free account feels stupid, malicious, and overall, a waste of time.

Edit : the swift response of the website fails to properly address issues raised in my comment (it once again puts the blame on me for not providing a portfolio to speed up a delay…which they exceeded anyway), but also, it… lies? As clearly stated in my present review i sent ONE complain before being denied access, then tried to register again to no avail, and only THEN did i send another email. In their response below, the website claims that it is only after receiving MULTIPLE emails on my part that they decided to reject my registration. I reckon truthfulness is one of the staples of trustpilot, and express my sincere surprise that the user experience could get any worse.

As for the abuse of complaints : I said, and I quote that « to take 24h is a ridiculous amount of time, and that to exceed it makes you wonder if it’s worth it ». My second email says the whole thing was a « disgusting experience ». Calling these abusive is manipulative, but i guess not as much as lying.

Hi Navi

After you sent us multiple abusive emails complaining about the delay to approval and how we operate, we decided to deny your account. You also didn’t include any key information we require. We have hundreds of members who use and enjoy a free membership. There is no “fake” free membership.

The sign up page clearly states that approval will usually be within 24 hours and can be sped up if you supply a portfolio, which you didn’t.

Your application did not include any relevant information about you and you even wrote “I am not an artist”. Our platform is designed for artists.

Part of the approval process includes approving or denying members we feel may be harmful to our community and after reading your emails, in addition to the lack of supporting information when you applied, we made the decision to deny your account in order to maintain a professional and friendly platform.

Cool store, great service!

The Posterspy store is a great place to buy unique art at a very reasonable price, supporting independent artists in the process. Loads of prints and books to choose from, highly recommended!
