We are quite proud of the delivery service we offer to our customers and always appreciate it when someone takes the time to comment on it! We think we are the only company to allow you to pick the week required instead of the month.
There are huge variances in the weather in the UK and so we want each customer to get their potatoes for when they are ready to chit.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and for mentioning the packaging and the fact that the order arrived when you requested. We are proud to offer the delayed delivery service for the week that our customers ask for, rather than the month like most companies.
However, I am a bit confused with your comment "only 5 in each pack"I have had a look at your order and you ordered the Sarpo Pack which is 5 different varieties, each with 6 tubers. So you should have 30 tubers in your order.
It is disappointing that you haven't contacted us to let us know about the damaged tuber. We aim for 100% of our orders to leave us in perfect condition.
We are dealing with fresh produce and transport and so, unfortunately, a tiny percentage of orders will not arrive in perfect condition. As you don't mention whether the tuber was damaged in transit or prior to that, I can't comment too much about it.
We always look into these orders - however we do need you to tell us about this! I have had a look at your order and note that you haven't contacted us about any issue.
We can't put this right until we hear about what has gone wrong. We need to know what your problem is.

Sarpo Axona seed potatoes…
I tried the Sarpo Axona seed potatoes last year and they were much better than varieties purchased from mainstream suppliers. They produced really healthy potatoes, disease free tubers and a good crop which stored well. I was so impressed I am trying the Sarpo variety pack this year plus some top up Axonas to see if there are all as good. Overall a quality specialist supplier - Support them and you won’t be disappointed.

There are many things which can affect how a potato grows. Even professional potato growers will have poor yields in some years, and indeed a total crop failure is not uncommon.
Factors such as the length of time in the soil, the soil condition, location in the garden and weather factors all play a huge part in the growth.
Growing your own vegetables is a rewarding and frustrating hobby in equal measure! One year you can have a glut of something then the following year doing nothing seemingly different you can get very little for your efforts.
We're here to help over the season, so please ask us anything if you are unsure.

There will always be variations in sizes in tubers as they are a natural product. We try to explain this in our FAQ.

Customers’ expectations of what size a seed potato should be can be very different. Some customer like large potatoes to cut and others like the smallest possible tubers. We have 90 different varieties in 4 different net sizes and do not do any further grading due to the work involved and the storage space in our store. If we did do further grading, the price would go up for all our customers.
All tubers will produce a great crop and we are looking forward to hearing how you get on.

I am sorry about the delay in delivery. You ordered on 12th Jan.
We usually dispatch within 3-4 days however delivery can be delayed for a few reasons.
During that time we had sub zero temperatures. We do not dispatch when there is a severe or prolonged frost as frost kills Seed potatoes very quickly. We did not go above zero for 10 days. We know if we send out during these periods we would have to redo 100s of orders due to poor quality seed potatoes reaching our customers.
We try to make this clear at check out and also on your confirmation email. We would appreciate it if you could suggest ways of making this clearer.
We mentioned this on our social media at the time, with pictures showing -6 degrees.
We also had a backlog from before Christmas when we had severe flooding and were getting through that when the frost hit.
We are a rural business and therefore the weather does affect delivery as gritters may not clear our road or trees could be down unfortunately we are a seasonal business dispatching in Dec/Jan/Feb/Mar when storms are at their worst.
