An early positive response from Potato House
I received my seed potatoes on Friday.
The potatoes I received came in a red plastic bag, two of them were sprouting (chitted?) and I have embedded them in my 10 gallon holders.
In my ignorance I didn’t know what to expect but having been contacted by Potato House, I am more in tune with what to expect now and the way forward to getting a good crop.
I’m just a beginner at this but I have watched many videos of ‘how to’ and as such, I have amended my TrustPilot review to reflect my current view.

Thank you for your order of 15th May, which was dispatched 16th May and obviously with you today, 19th. I note that your order also had a free net of potatoes - our May offer.
Your expectation of "ready chitted" seed potatoes is not what we supply and there is nothing on our web to indicate this. No potato company supplies ready chitted potatoes, intentionally as they are too fragile to post.
Our web states that your seed potatoes are kept in cold storage all spring and so are only beginning their waking up process. Potatoes in garden centres will be chitted as they have not been in cold storage since December.
It's great that you are watching lois of videos as well to get differing opinions on things, but there is no better way than to do it yourself. Please also see our growing guide.

I'm disappointed that you did not email us to clarify these matters prior to putting this review up. Quick delivery, some potatoes a bit small
Delivery was quick and packaging good. But disappointed in the size of the seeds potatoes. Some were very small, so I’m concerned whether I’ll get a decent crop. I’ll only know once they have grown!

Thanks for your comments and I'm sorry that you are disappointed with the size of some tubers. The size depends on many things such as the variety and also our overall harvest.
Expectations vary as to what a seed potato should look like and some people like large ones and cut them up, and some request the smallest possible. Potatoes are a natural product and so variation is to be expected.
Expectations and what we offer can be different and we are as transparent as we can be about the size and the variation of size that you can expect in your order.
To manage the different expectations, we have a tab on each variety under the blurb and also a section in our FAQ explaining the size and the variation of sizes of tubers in our nets with pictures. https://www.potatohouse.co.uk/faq/ We ask at checkout if this information has been read.
We have over 90 varieties of seed potato and they are in 4 different net sizes, we do not have the capacity to also grade by size, and if we did, this would push the overall price up.

Our seed potatoes are kept in cold storage and bagged up close to dispatch so are in perfect condition even much later in the season than this! Garden centres will have their potatoes bagged up in December and stored in warmer conditions and so will be beginning to sprout now.
