I would strongly advise anyone to avoid dealing with PRA Group if possible.
Despite clear evidence that a default already registered by Barclaycard has been duplicated by PRA Group on my credit file — which is a clear breach of UK credit reporting laws and FCA regulations — they have refused to take action.
After speaking with two representatives (Nieve and her line manager Jean), I explained in detail that their default was a duplicate entry for the same debt, which is not only misleading, but also illegal under data protection laws and FCA rules. Yet, they completely dismissed my concerns and refused to remove the entry.
Their customer service was unhelpful, dismissive, and uninformed, and they failed to acknowledge even the basic legal standards around credit reporting. I’ve now had to escalate the issue to the Financial Ombudsman Service because PRA Group has failed to treat my complaint seriously or fairly.

I explained clearly to PRA Group that I am unemployed and unable to pay, but they continued to pursue me and even pushed for court action on a small debt. They ignored token payments I offered in the past and now send replies in email formats I can’t even open. Very stressful and unhelpful experience — communication is poor and not customer-friendly.
