Physics by example by Prichard guides has been an excellent help for me. The examples are easy to follow and fully worked out. This makes a change because I can actually follow how the problems are solved. The diagrams are very clear and make it easy to understand the theory. I found the self testing sections useful and a great idea giving space to do the workings. I recommend this book to anyone doing their gcse’s it is a great help.

An educator who understands his students
I’ve just discovered this GCSE revision resource, ‘PHYSICS by Example’, from Prichard Guides. Prichard is obviously able to see inside the minds of his students. The worked examples are broken down into simple components and the book is filled with the thought processes required to work through the questions. As a mathematician myself, I am impressed with the treatment of the many formulae. The formula triangles are a great way of helping the student remember the formula variants. They are also just one of the many uses of pictures and diagrams to enhance the memory process. The guide is simple and concise and very much focussed on the key points in each section. I believe the guide would be a valuable resource for any GCSE student and provides an excellent revision tool.
