PROVIDENT METALS IS NO LONGER A REPUTABLE COMPANY

I bought a roll of silver January 31st. It’s March 15 and I still have not received my coins. I’m told they can’t guarantee I’ll get my money back or the coins until it’s approved by their claims department. So if it’s not approved they’ve taken my $800 and there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ve been doing business with Provident Metals since 2013 and never had a problem. Something has gone terribly wrong. They are not the reputable company they once were. Needless to say I’ll never buy coins from them again. Whatever you do don’t buy from them. If you don’t receive your coins they won’t guarantee anything.

3-4 weeks, to date, and no product.

3 weeks waiting for my order - paid w/ CC - now (this is Sat. eve.) so next week will be 4th week. Meanwhile they have had my money to invest, get interest, whatever. Customer service says it should have shipped last week, but did yesterday.........That's what they told me the week before last week.....They indicate items in stock to get you to place an order then hold your money for their use. Be afraid, be very afraid of Provident and JM bullion - both owned by same guy. Wish I would have done some research before sending them my money!

Terrible company to deal with!

I ordered silver before the boom and shortage of silver and have been waiting for my order for over 15 days, I called a week ago to ask the status of the order and was told it wasn't shipped yet but would be shipped by the next week. I waited till that next Friday and called again to find out it hasn't shipped yet still. I canceled my order and their sales reps are very rude I will be doing business elsewhere this place is very unprofessional and has 0 customer service!

They claim they buy back at xx over…

They claim they buy back at xx over spot. That is BS. 5 years after I purchased I called to see buy back price. $1.50 under spot. Did it rot? Grade less ?
Another crap supplier full of lies. Don’t trust them
And when silver dropped to $13 they charged $8 over spot. F n crooks. Don’t deal with them ever

Ordered around 200$ of silver and it never showed up. They said it was delivered but my mail box takes a key they say someone stole it and it’s my problem. After 5 years of my business and always delivering they refused to help me at all. This is BS I sent them endless customers. Upon further digging I see this happens to more people than just me. I will no long give them any service best of luck to everyone else.

Boycott Provident & JM

First order since the merger. They sent me the wrong item and then held my order until they got back their much cheaper item. Customer service unhelpful, and in no rush to make things right. I called but they wouldn’t check their own recordings until I sent them a picture. Over a week and they still have my money and item. Don’t waste your money with Provident or JM. There are plenty of other bullion dealers out there with just as good prices and much better service.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!

I placed a $250 order with Provident on April 10 (nearly 2 months ago). The shipping label was created and the order never went any further. Weeks after I placed the order, Provident wanted me to call the Postmaster General to report theft, sign and scan a letter certifying that I never received the order, and that they’d send it to their “claims department”. Multiple calls and emails later, they always reply with they’ll follow up with their “insurance company” and that they will get back in touch with me. I never receive a follow up, I have not been offered a replacement of my order, not a refund... despite the fact I have requested numerous times. I have placed several orders with this company in the past, but thank God this was not one of my high purchase orders. I have since placed all my orders through Apmex and SD Bullion. They have outstanding customer service, their customer service reps aren’t cold on the phone as I have experienced when speaking with Provident customer service, and 2 months later I have yet to receive a follow up phone call providing me an update on my missing metals. Save yourself the headache and the chance of this happening to you. This company is despicable in the way they handle their customers. I will be reporting them to the BBB, despite the upstanding reviews others may have left. If you want to gamble with your metals and your money, order from Provident Metals. Otherwise, stick with a reputable dealer.

Have bought thousands of dollars of…

Have bought thousands of dollars of silver from these people. With the recent Covid-19 they started charging totally EXCESSIVE prices over spot price. Price gouging to the EXTREME. Three dollars plus over spot when spot was at around twelve per oz. on even when trying to buy multiple kilogram bars. They claimed they didn't have in stock them they would contact you when available. Then a couple hours later they say in an e-mail they have them. They went for the low hanging fruit. Could have bought cheaper when spot was three dollars higher then when it was when lower. Scumbags. Never buy nor sell to them again. I suggest you don't either. Though they were an upright company. Just scum like so many others. Don't know the law on their sales of US and other government issues as a priveliged reseller but I suspect may have broken some laws and/or they did some fishy stuff. Will be looking into when the laundry comes in and stuff cools off. Think may others will be as well. Never buy from these people. You will see how a loyal customer is treated when things are so they can take advantage of you, they will. Take your business elsewhere. As if they weren't already making enough. A-holes.

What’s going on??

I recently ordered a kilo of silver and mailed my check next day. This order took place in last three weeks. I received an email from Provident stating I owed $31 plus for money owed them. I paid the fee thinking I under paid my bill so as not to hold up my order. Well somehow upon checking my order it showed cancelled?? My check hasn’t been cashed nor returned. If anyone else has this happen please write a review

Excellent price point

Excellent price point! Not only do they sell bullion, they also sell Bullion jewelry. When the price of Spot Gold fluctuates, so does the products they sell, unlike other companies that claim they follow spot prices, Provident Metals stays true to their claim of offering spot plus a small product fee for their bullion jewelry. I highly recommend this company for their honesty and TRANSPARENCY. 5 STARS!!!!!

Ordered 100 junk silver dimes

Ordered 100 junk silver dimes. Received the order relatively quickly once it was processed. Mix of mercury and roosevelt dimes, which was also good. However, also received one 1966 canadian dime, which is NOT 90% silver. This was disappointing.

Capsules came scratched, wouldn't replace, deleted my review

I ordered some clear capsules for silver bars and they were shipped loose in a bag, so got scratched. I let Provident know when I placed my next order (so they could just ship replacements along with the order) but they refused, stating that I had to let them know within five days of receiving the first order (and likely I'd have to pay return shipping as well).

I also confirmed that it is their policy to ship capsules loose in a bag, unlike every other place I've gotten capsules where they put protective paper between the pieces. I left a review with these facts but they never posted to the site, and were just deleted. So reviews on Provident's website are cherry-picked.

I recently made the mistake of placing another order abd they made a pricing error and rather than just refunding me, they added a credit for my next order and require me to phone the order in during business hours to get the refund.
