For the past six weeks I have been volunteering with Proyecto Peru at the kindergarten and primary school, and I have had an amazing time. Everything is well-organized and the staff are friendly and helpful with coordinating timing and events. Also, it is a great way to get to know Cusco better and other volunteers through Proyecto Peru's many social events, from salsa classes to trivia to ATV riding. In addition to volunteering, I also took Spanish lessons which were very informative and helpful, which I also enjoyed.

My experience with Proyecto Peru was super great. I did a project to take care of the wildlife in a sanctuary.
I like having people willing the help me get used to the country and they help solve the problem I encounter really fast.
The weekly activity is super useful to meet new people of the same age and having good times.
I really recommend this organisation

Absolutely loved my time with Proyecto Peru, for anyone looking to experience a new culture and learn some Spanish, I couldn’t recommend it enough. I stayed with a host family and took lessons in Spanish every morning and immediately felt welcomed by the friendly atmosphere and great staff. The array of stuff available to the students is great, from weekly social events to various projects. During my time I made great friends and my Spanish excelled much more than I expected it to. Hats off 🫡

I am so happy I found Proyecto Peru when searching for an international volunteer opportunity. The ability to explore and travel a new country while being immersed within the culture of Peru is exactly what I wanted from my trip and exactly what I got. Volunteering within the country has also allowed me to gain connections with other volunteers from all over the world and open my eyes to wildlife opportunities that graze past my home country.

I didn't do a project, but simply dropped in and the Cusco team (Jorgen) organised private language lessons and homestay - which both started the very same day, as I had hoped.
Maria was a great teacher. We covered a lot in our repaso.
Host family (Norma, Arturo and Yovana) lived a bus ride away, and were very helpful. 3 meals a day included. We spoke Spanish for hours each day, covering a wide range of topics from politics, religion and geography to their experiences of the history of the country. An A+ experience. Hope to be back. Many thanks

You have to choose Proyecto Peru, if you are in Cusco and are looking for qualified Spanish lessons, homestays, volunteer work or tours. They provide a lot of options that will suit your needs for a reasonable price.
I had a great time in Cusco and improved my Spanish skills and got a local experience through my homestay and volunteer work in the afterschool project San Nicolas Urraca.

Proyecto Perú is an incredible organisation. I stayed with a lovely local family for the week and got to experience Peruvian home cooking which was such a treat. Volunteering at the dog shelter during the mornings was a great way of practicing my Spanish and playing with some very cute furry friends. And my one week of Spanish lessons with Miriam has really accelerated my speaking skills.
I had the most incredible five weeks at the language school/volunteering program in Cusco, and ended up extending my stay for another month. The people I met were amazing, and the weekly activities kept things exciting and fun. The staff were super friendly and always ready to help with anything I needed.
Cusco itself is a beautiful city. There's a lot to see and do, I never once felt bored. My medical internship was a fantastic learning experience and has definitely given me valuable insights for my future career.
I'm very thankful for this unforgettable experience. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for a meaningful and fun adventure in Peru!

I spent one month volunteering on the medical project in Peru before graduating medical school. Enrique was so helpful in facilitating a good learning experience to allow us to make the most of our project. The home stay was also great, with such a friendly host family who helped my Spanish to improve. Overall I had a great time here.

My experience with proyecto peru was the first time of travelling for me. I didn’t even make it out of europe before. Naturally I was a bit scared what was gonna wait for me in Peru. Turns out I had the best time of my life!! Not only because Cusco is amazing, but because PPC gave me the security I needed to feel safe in a foreign country:)
THANK YOUU

I have been staying in Cusco for 3 weeks as part of the Plan My Gap Year project, and my final 3 weeks was with Proyecto Peru. Even though we were staying with a host family, Proyecto made sure we stayed in contact with all the other volunteers in the communal building, by organising weekly quizzes and having organised activities such as Salsa dancing and cocktail making classes. The staff were easily contactable through WhatsApp or over the phone, and made sure all our questions were answered. We volunteered for 3 weeks at Cochahuasi Animal Sanctuary, it was so fun and interesting to work with different and unique animal species, and Enrique helped us navigate and make our way to the Sanctuary. Angie was also really helpful in organising weekend trips such as Sacred Valley, Moras Moray and helped us to book Machu Picchu even after the 3 weeks. Cusco is an amazing city, and everyone in Proyecto was really friendly and helpful, we had the best time.

I spent 4 weeks at Proyecto Peru. During that time I met the loveliest people, had the craziest nights and so many memories I won‘t forget. The time at my project was super cute. I loved spending time with the children and playing with them. I always felt welcome at the house. Thank you PPC!

Proyecto Perú has been nothing short of phenomenal. My intentions here were to improve my Spanish for my long term career plans. I spent 4 weeks with the program as a dental intern. I enjoyed the structure that the program provides. I spent a couple hours a day with formal classes, which the professors have expertise in modifying the speed and style of each lesson. I spent most of
my time chatting about pertinent cultural and pertinent topics. My dental clinic experience has been great as well. The doctors and team have been awesome and have added to my personal and professional development. My home stay has been inviting and I’m happy that I was able to live and share my life with my family. Overall I recommend this program because of the comprehensive approach and the friendly and professional staff. A big shout out to Enrique, Cherelyn, Drs. Juliana and Jose, y Patricia. I am thankful for such a great experience!
