This is my experience with a PDS Solicitor and Barrister. (My so called defence team)
Imagine turning to the Public Defender Service (part of the ministry of justice) – the very organization meant to uphold the legal rights of those in need – only to find yourself misled, misrepresented, and left stranded in a web of legal incompetence. That’s exactly what happened to me.
From the outset, the advice I received was riddled with errors. My solicitor and barrister, both part of the Public Defender Service, failed to grasp even the basic jurisdictional issues in my case. Instead of challenging a court order that had been unlawfully imposed, they suggested using a procedural rule meant to fix minor clerical mistakes. Misleading? Absolutely. Negligent? Without question.
Despite clear evidence from an expert witness on my autism, which was never properly introduced to the court, my legal team fumbled at every turn. My rights under the Equality Act and the European Convention on Human Rights were ignored, leaving me to navigate a system that should have protected me.
When you expect professionalism, but receive half-baked legal advice, it’s not just disappointing—it’s dangerous. The Public Defender Service left me in a far worse position than when I started, and for that, they should be held accountable.
This is not just a review—it’s a warning. If you need competent, reliable legal defense, you may want to look elsewhere.
