200% increase for no reason.

I've been with RAA in different forms for my entire adult life. I've had home insurance through them for 5 years, but this year I decided to actually click on the renewal notice, and I find that it's doubled in the last 2-3 years from $900, to $1800 (originally started around $600-ish).

I rang up, and it turns out that they now are a broker for 1 company (they call it "re-insurance") called Allianz. This sneaky behaviour is close to theft, because they do not need to ascertain if we're aware of what's happening. I trusted RAA (most people do), so I didn't bother to look.

They also said that there's no room for negotiation, which is what happens when you sell your customers to another company.

I didn't give them 1 star, because I at least got to speak to a local, which is important to me, because I don't have a good ear for understanding accents. However, I'm not going to fund the greedy's pockets, so I'm going to move on.
