While Rail Europe is happy to assist customers in submitting and following up on such claims, we do not operate the train services ourselves and therefore have no control over service disruptions, compensation decisions or the timelines within which rail carriers process refund and compensation requests.

We recognize that the time taken to receive a response has been longer than expected. Unfortunately, once a claim has been submitted to the rail carrier, we must await their review and decision before any compensation can be issued.

Please be assured that we have been actively following up with the rail carrier on your behalf and have made repeated requests for an update. However, despite our efforts, we have not yet received a decision from them regarding your claim.

We understand your frustration and sincerely appreciate your patience while the rail carrier completes its assessment. As soon as we receive any further information, we will ensure it is communicated to you promptly.

Poor website experience

I wanted to purchase 2 trips. The link for adding a 2nd trip wouldn't work. Very inconvenient to make 2 separate transactions and I guess I probably paid extra fees. Poor. Oh yeah, your mobile app stinks. I downloaded that and was not able to see my tickets.

Regarding the booking fees, Rail Europe applies a flat booking fee per booking rather than per journey. As a result, if two separate bookings were ultimately made, a booking fee would have been applied to each transaction.

We are also sorry to hear that you were unable to locate your tickets in the mobile app. We encourage you to contact our Support Team. Our agents will be happy to review your booking and assist you in accessing your tickets.

Buying TGV Tickets

I'm in the US. Tried to buy TGV tickets directly from French rail company but there's apparently a security software conflict with US systems and EU ticket sales. So my son told me about Rail Europe. It worked smoothly on first try. Allons y a Paris.

Smooth Sailing with Swiss Travel Passes
We purchased Swiss Travel Passes from Rail Europe. The passes were sent to us electronically. They worked perfectly! We had first-class passes. This allowed us to travel without making reservations or planning in advance. Second-class cars were often full, while first-class had available seating. Our passes also covered entry to many museums. In addition, it included some tram rides up mountainsides and boat rides, at no cost or at a discount. Using travel passes simplified our fabulous Swiss adventure.
