I hired a guy called Scott last year and he in the end was abusing, bullying and claimed to be a professional. Didn’t do the work in my kitchen and ripped me off for at lest £500.

I was pleased with Rated people to find Trades. I decided on Paisley Contractors to do the job. I am very happy with the painting done by Steven & Scott. The price was brilliant & the boys did the job in a few hours, very tidy and I will certainly use them again.

Don’t have an issue with the App itself
Have encountered a few greedy tradesmen offering ridiculous quotes
Other than that would highly recommend
Just have your wits about you & do your homework before committing to any job

Easy to add a job, find a recommended tradesperson, they contacted me within the day of posting. All work completed within the week and rating now added.

My experience with Rated People has seriously undermined my trust in the platform.

I used it to find a contractor for a fencing job. The tradesperson recommended to me appeared to primarily work as a painter/decorator, yet was matched to a fencing project. The work carried out was poor and quickly became unsafe, forcing me to pay for urgent repairs at my own expense.

I submitted a detailed complaint with clear evidence (photos, timeline, costs). Rated People acknowledged it and said they contacted the tradesperson, but no meaningful action followed.

The most concerning part is that my honest review of the trader was removed. That raises real questions about how reliable and transparent the platform’s review system actually is.

From my experience, Rated People provides limited protection when things go wrong and its recommendation process did not give me confidence that the tradesperson was suitably matched to the job.

I would strongly advise anyone using this platform to carry out their own checks and not rely solely on the ratings or suggested tradespeople.

After being badly let down by task rabbit to assemble flat packed furniture I turned to the Internet to look for alternatives and came across Rated People . The process was simple and within an hour I had an offer of help and I could see on the app that he had 5 star reviews so booked him . Excellent choice .

In my experience, Rated People stands out when compared to Checkatrade and MyBuilder. I consistently receive at least two leads per day, and the monthly membership cost is easily covered by completing just one job.

Highly recommended for electricians running a small business.

These lot are running a scam site, NEVER give them your bank details otherwise you will have an absolute nightmare with them deducting payments of all kinds when they feel like it. When you eventually get it stopped they think they can pass it on to a bunch of debt collectors to drive you even more mad.
Although i find it hilarious and would never give them a penny this could certainly be a major headache for a poor tradesman somewhere who has a good credit rating and is trying to find work. !! Big old scam.
I’d sooner give the money to a tramp, or throw it in the drain. !! You may be desperate for work but these clowns will multiply your problems. Rated Ltd should not be accredited by the mastercard system because they abuse it.

Matt from Mercer Construction supplied and fitted my garden gate. Very punctual, had actually started the job before I arrived. Everything cleared away when finished. Would definitely recommend.

On the 26 of January I wrote a review regarding a rogue trader who tried to extort money from my son and daughter in law. He made their life a misery, my daughter in law was left terrified.
A reference number from this site was given to me to investigate, information on this individual was provided (as much as we had.) Months later despite numerous emails sent to them asking for an update I have heard nothing.
If they can’t find him they should admit this and not pretend that they care. THEY DO NOT! Will be going to Trading Standards.

I did find a trader to do the job and he did a professional job. The ad is only advertised for a short time though which I think limits the chance to get good quotes from a variety of traders.

An excellent service. Very good and punctual attendance. The person attending cleaned up after him. I am delighted with the result. I can’t recommend Dan more highly. Certainly would use Dan again.

Placed request for work on my overgrown untidy garden on Rated People on Monday 13 April 2026. Lucky of A&L Every Ready Maintenance Services got in touch and after sending photos of my garden we arranged to have the work done on the Wednesday 15 April 2026.

I highly recommend Lucky of A&L for all gardening work. My large garden was overgrown and in a terrible state. I was impressed with Lucky of A&L on Rated People and booked them to carry out the work and was pleasantly surprised at their professionalism, attention to detail and tidiness.
