Rathbones has managed our portfolios for over twenty years, most of that time with Keith MacKenzie as our Investment Manager. I was originally with Investec and was very pleased with their culture. Now they have merged with Rathbones and I haven't noticed any adverse changes. That culture involves a personal approach, getting to know each client, their situation financially and family-wise. Of course what matters in the end is what they can deliver in returns and so far that has not disappointed. They also offer advice on what to do about issues like gifting to family members and so on which are very important. I have dealt mainly with Hector Falconer and Douglas Spence and would thoroughly recommend their people-first approach. It gives me confidence that they put their emphasis on what is in the clients best interests
