Having recently been dealing with a ‘cheaper’ high street optician I was left feeling that my eyesight could be improved beyond what they were able to offer. Having previously been helped by Rawlings in Caterham I decided to pay them a visit;and was not disappointed. My subsequent eye examination and scan was thorough, informative and unhurried, as was my subsequent choice of lenses and frames,
which took account of my screen use (too much) and driving needs. From start to finish my treatment was polite, friendly and patient.

Easy to arrange ear-wax removal treatment, which was carried out on time, effectively and with a friendly commentary.

I first had a hearing test with Bill Mills about 2 years ago but decided not to do anything. More recently with my hearing deteriorating, I had another hearing test and decided that I needed hearing aids.

Bill explained all the options and I was loaned a pair of Starkey Omega hearing aids. At the end of the loan period, I agreed to proceed with the purchase.

The whole experience was very professional with no pressure to purchase.

Bill was also very helpful by agreeing to loan a Starkey TV Streamer to enable me to check that it would work with my TV system.

The audiologist was careful and thorough and explained things clearly, listened to my difficulties and gave helpful advice and made useful improvements to my aids.

This is about today's experience. Which is very disappointing since I have been a loyal customer for many years. I purchased a pair of prescription glasses, and decided I would also purchse 3 pairs of 'off the rack' reading glasses, after being worn twice, one of the pairs of off the rack reading glasses broke, the frame slpit around the left lens. I duly returned this pair expecting a refund for these not fit for purpose spectacles. Instead I received an accusatory tone and refusal for the refund. Giving me a replacement pair of the same clearly poor quality product. No signs indicate no refund policy, no verbal communication upon purchase of this policy. All for a £20 refund, Rawlings have lost a loyal customer. Deeply upsetting.

I have a very strong prescription for my specs which makes the role of the dispensing optician crucial in optimising my vision. It's challenging to get the angles and the fit and the style just right. I saw Bridget (dispensing optician) first on the 31st March. She then took time looking in to the issues that I have and saw me again, after researching my history (going back over several years of notes) on 14th April. I now have reading glasses that are a big improvement on my last pair. I'm looking forward to Bridget being able to help with my distance glasses by taking a similar approach. Nothing was too much trouble for her and all done with a smile! Thank you. JL

It was the first time I used Rawlings in Caterham and found the staff very friendly, informative and listened to what I had to say.
I went there for ear wax removal and would recommend the service there.

I made an emergency eye appointment and the process was very smooth and prompt. David examined my eye and referred me to the hospital straight away, and I received a hospital appointment on the same day. They were very professional and provided excellent customer service. I strongly recommend them.

Fantastic service! Welcoming and friendly service entering the store. My optometrist, Helen, was incredibly thorough and informative, taking care to make sure I understood everything. I then had excellent help from Ursula to choose the right glasses frames to suit me. Great range of different styles and brands to choose from. Very happy I booked my eye test here!

I had cataract surgery and a post-op six-week eye check up. Priscilla Cunningham, the optician who conducted the post-op check up was very professional, thorough, patient and very focussed and dedicated to the quality of her services and role.
I was very impressed as it’s been a very long time that I have had such a great and professional service.
