The practice is a family affair with mum, dad and son working together to provide a friendly and professional service.
My eye test was very thorough using the most up to date equipment. As the examination proceeded everything that was taking place was explained to me.
The choice of frames was good and as I picked up the specs they were tweaked for a good fit.
My second visit was for a thorough investigation into the general health of my eyes checking for glaucoma, cataracts etc all explained in great detail with no rush.
In short a very friendly and professional organisation. More expensive than the High Street chains but for the service you really do get what you pay for. RNH

I have been coming to Ray Lewis for the last 4 years for my complex prescription glasses. They are without doubt the best opticians I have ever been to. Their level of knowledge and thoroughness is unmatched. Not only that, but they’re so friendly and family run. Wouldn’t go anywhere else. Thank you again guys!

Mr PJ Patel and his team take profesisonla eye care and customer service to a completely new level to which all others can only try and follow.
From first meeting Mr Patel some 5+ years ago I was immediately drawn to his experience, enthusiasm and dedication to his own profession, as well as the passion, care and consideration he so freely gives to each and every customer.
Having visited both his practices (Chesterfield & Sheffield) I've always received 5* service from both him and his team. Never rushed, always treated as an individual and with great level of courtesy.
I don't live in either Chesterfield or Sheffield, but more than 90+ miles away. There are numerous opticians on my local high street, all of which I COULD attend,.....but don't.
Instead, I happily book a day off work, travel the 180+ miles round trip for my appointment with one of the very best in the business.
When it comes to eye care, you REALLY can't afford to accept second best, and with Mr Patel looking after your eyes, you know full well you have made the RIGHT choice.

This has been my optician for quite a few years and I have always found that the service you get is second to none. From the moment you arrive the staff couldn’t be friendlier. They have all the up to date equipment and Mr Patel goes out of his way to explain everything in great detail. I would highly recommend.

When Harry Ross retired a long time ago Mr Patel took over the business and I was instantly impressed by his professionalism, his commitment to his patients and his charm. I would never let anyone else take care of my eyes and eyesight. With the latest optical instrumentation you get the same eye care and investigation that only hospitals can provide.
The service is second to none with everyone involved being so friendly and knowledgable.
Recommendations go up to 10 but I give Ray Lewis an 11

PJ has been my optician for some 20 years but this was my first visit to his new outlet, Ray-Lewis Opticians:-it won't be my last.

During the time I spent at his superbly equipped practice on Ecclesall Road nothing was too much trouble for PJ or his staff, as they ensured I was made to feel welcome & comfortable.

As always a very thorough & detailed examination by a very likeable gentleman.

I would highly recommend Ray-Lewis opticians. I made my first visit there along with my wife and two children for us all to have eye tests. The showroom really is state of the art and I was fascinated at the amount of new technology and equipment they have to carry out the examinations.
The staff were really friendly and helpful and looked after us all while we took it in turns to have the eye tests. The examination was thorough and the process was explained incredibly well by Mr Patel. Both kids came out with excellent vision while me and my wife needed slightly stronger glasses. We were given loads of great advise while choosing frames and
will be going back next week to collect our new glasses.

The professionalism was excellent with detailed explanations throughout, and the availability of the latest testing equipment (far exceeded any other seen to date) gave me the confidence it was the best opticians to go to.

Visited Ray-Lewis to check out their range of glasses as I had been looking for a new pair for quite a while, but had struggled to find what I wanted. I found the service I received to be helpful, friendly and informative. There are many high quality frames to choose from, from funky to everyday styles. On each visit to the shop there was never any pressure to purchase a product which I liked.

After a few visits I decided in a pair of frames from TAVAT which I love and had not seen anywhere else.

I would highly recommend the products and service at Ray-Lewis.

Always very helpful and explains everything clearly and understandably. Glasses are of a high quality and have never had any problems at all.

Mr Patel has the latest high tech optical equipment and is always very thorough when you visit him. He always explains the imaging results in full details to you.
