DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY

DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY. They automatically renew your policy with no reminder email at double the price. Once the money is taken they charge a fee for cancelling the policy (£16 for me ringing the same day the policy started) took ages to get through on phone even when lines just opened at 9am half hour waiting to get a grumpy advisor who was not helpful. They have no morals and this is their only way of getting money in by frauding genuine customers

Avoid at all costs

This company is awful. Plain rude. They charge ridiculous fees even during cooling off periods. Charged me for two policies and refused to refund and were extremely rude about it! Absolutely awful. Just go somewhere else.

Do not use Recover Cover or Dynamo Cover

So the same story as many others here. Breakdown cover last year was £30 this year is £50. Never used them at all over the last 12 months. No reason for the increase and guess what, auto-renewal. 55 minutes on the phone, someone answers then cuts the call at their end before I can fully ask my question. Not waiting for another 55 mins, so spoke to bank and cancelled at that end. DO NOT USE THESE COMPANIES.

A company to avoid

A company to avoid as it has automatic renewals which are difficult to cancel. You cannot cancel on line or by email and good luck getting through on the phone. We eventually spoke to someone on the day the new policy started told it could not be cancelled, had no right to a cooling off period and offered to refund less than half the money they took.

Auto renewal scam

Signed up a year ago and never needed to use them. Then last week got an email saying they're automatically renewing my policy using the card I previously signed up with at double the price of last year and the only way to cancel is via phone. I've been ringing and ringing and staying on hold for 30 mins to an hour at a time and no one answers. They also refuse to deal with any queries via email. Feels like such a scam - ESPECIALLY since i never consented to them keeping my card details on file nor to an automatic renewal. Stuck now and unsure what to do.

I wish I had looked on here first

Same issue as most other users.

Received a renewal notice at an inflated price, and simply cannot cancel the auto-renewal, nobody answers the phone! Now I have to spend time calling my bank to block them.

Rubbish service, and I hate to think I had needed them in the case of an emergency!

I had a breakdown cover from this…

I had a breakdown cover from this company under Dynamo cover. They have renewed the cover without my permission and took the money from the account without notifying me. when i raised the issue with them they would not return the full amount. This is a robber company worse than street thieves. Customers beware before getting into their trap.

Utter Rubbish

I had a car breakdown policy with RecoverCover.com, a roadside rescue brand operated and managed by Dynamo Cover Limited.
Unauthorised payment of £15.99 was taken from my credit card. When I queried this I was told it was ‘a cancellation fee as requested via telephone’.
I did not ask them to cancel the policy, merely asked a question relating to another unexpected charge (see previous reviews re inflation linked price increases). They reinstated the policy and agreed to refund the £15.99.I have never been refunded.
Despite twice advising them I wished to opt out of the automatic renewal feature I received an auto renew email. Managed to speak to them and they confirmed it would not auto renew – subsequently received an email thanking me for purchasing a new policy and confirming £38 would be taken from my credit card.
So, when I have managed to speak to them, on both occasions they have used it as a means to take or attempt to take unauthorised amounts from my card.
Net result is I have lost £15.99, spent a total of four hours over several phone calls ‘on hold’ and had to inform my bank to block further payments to avoid potentially losing a further £38.

This company uses auto renewal

This company uses auto renewal. They send you an email with a telephone number to opt out of auto renewal but no body answers the phone making it very difficult and time consuming. They also hike up the price of a renewal.
I blocked the renewal by a phone call to the bank, don't waste your time trying to contact them.
I wonder what would have happened if I actually had a breakdown. Would they have answered the phone?

Same as the others...

Same as the others. Cancelling auto renewal is very difficult and the cost almost doubled up for the second year. Though I managed to get hold of their agent after 40 mins on their phone line the other day, and they did confirm that they have cancelled the auto-renewal and I'd get email notification etc., I never received that email so I doubt if they have actually cancelled it. I tried contacting them again but no one answers the phone call and no response for online forms. So I had to block it via the bank. So don't waste your time contacting them, just call the bank.

Stay away

This company auto renews but makes it so difficult to cancel. Phone lines where you are holding constantly, no answer to emails.

Very hard to cancel autorenewal

They automatically renew your policies (with a noticeable increase on last year's price). They don't allow you to cancel this autorenewal on their website or via email. You have to ring a number that no-one answers, and spend your day waiting in vain for someone to answer the phone.

Appaling customer service & renewal cost

Be very aware: This is the SAME company as Dynamo Cover Limited

You have to phone them to stop auto renewal and wait for at least an hour in a queue.

Try to email them and get an auto response message stating that you have to fill in an online form with limited characters that might send you a response in two days time and does not allow for the stopping of a renewal anyway.

They want to automatically increase the cost of my cover from £22 to £36!!!

Found much better cover elsewhere for less than the cost of last years premium (look on moneysupermarket).

God help anyone who has to call this company for assistance. Even if it was free, this kind of service (or rather, lack of) is worse than useless, it is a hindrance to your life.

USE THIS COMPANY AT YOUR PERIL - YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED!

Update: I have just realised that the regular invoices that I have been getting via email recently are from them! Just like previous posters, they are trying to charge me an additional amount for my current policy (that expires in 3 weeks).
AT NO TIME HAVE THEY EVER GIVEN PRIOR NOTIFICATION.
Fortunately the card details that they RETAINED are out of date as I was issued with a new credit card a couple of months ago.

THEY ARE A TOTAL BUNCH OF CROOKS USING UNDERHAND METHODS TO TAKE PEOPLES MONEY such as taking money without notification and making it as difficult as possible to avoid renewal.

Don't let them use YOUR credit card as a free cashpoint!

Avoid at all costs

They will force you to auto-renew your policy and give no way to cancel. They do not answer their phone and emails bounce back with an automated response. Avoid at all costs.

Don't even bother

Don't even bother, they miss-sell the breakdown cover so that when you do finally break down and need assistance, they can say you need to pay and even have the audacity to say that I don't have a policy despite paying the APR increase a few days earlier (a thing I've never had to do with another company when paying for a year in full)

If you want to be stranded on the side of a road and on the phone for hours then sure thing use these bunch of rouges, otherwise use a good company (literally any would be better than here)

Never again

Same as others. Received my renewal notice, which is now £48 compared to when I joined last year for £35.95. I’ve been on the phone waiting to speak to someone for 20 minutes now. Still on hold with that awful music playing. Nightmare. Never again. It’s Friday at 10.52am, but it looks like they have no staff to take calls. Hopefully I’ll get through soon. I did email them to cancel it, but the email notice said they only take cancellations by phone, hence the call, so I don’t get charged later (my renewal is due to go out 20/05). With so much stress in the world, this is unacceptable. Update: I waited 28 minutes before the call was taken. The man was very polite, checked my details, and agreed to cancel it without question. The call took about 30 seconds if that. I’ve informed my bank just in case.

Awful customer services

Awful customer services. As per the previous reviews, they send you an email to saying that your policy will be automatically renewed. They only accept phone cancellations and then don't ever answer the phone. I have been on hold for 1 hour but no one has answered and no luck yesterday either. Please report them to trading standards

Not worth a star

Not worth a star.
Customer service is so rubbish. None existent. My breakdown cover will auto renew which I don’t intend to do so phoned them up to cancel but no one’s answering, been on the phone for over an hour. Just contacted my bank instead to stop future payments.

Absolutely non existant on customer…

Absolutely non existant on customer services. Nobody ever picks up the phone, I tried on numerous occaisions with the longest non answered wait being 45 minutes! I actually wanted to discuss a better quality of cover, up from silver to gold, but simply no one there!
I have now taken steps to not re-new.
