feedback on recent experience

I have been a loyal customer of Redtag for over 10 years, consistently booking at least two vacations annually through their website. Recently, I was assisting a coworker with browsing vacation options during our downtime, and upon reviewing my most recent invoice from October, I noticed an issue regarding the non-medical cancellation charges. I was billed $250 per person (for two people), whereas the original booking clearly indicated a price of "starting from $97" or something similar, well under $100.
When I contacted customer service, I was told that I should have reviewed the details on the day of booking, and I was accused of providing inaccurate information. The representative also claimed that the final price is always clearly displayed in the summary, which was not the case in my situation. I was only given an estimate, and when I checked the website again, the price appeared as initially listed, but the final statement showed a significant price increase.
Additionally, I noticed that the booking process can be misleading. The displayed price would often change once I proceeded with the booking, increasing by several hundred dollars. These price adjustments were displayed in small text in the top right corner, which could easily be overlooked, especially when booking on a mobile device.
As a long-time customer, this experience has been very disappointing. I would appreciate a resolution to this issue, as I am considering taking my business elsewhere if this matter is not addressed. This is the first time I have encountered such problems with Redtag, and I hope to see a more transparent and customer-friendly approach moving forward.

Will never use red tag again.

I cancelled my family trip Nov.8/24 and was told in writing that I would get 50%refund within 2 weeks. After 2 weeks I emailed the red tag agent (twice) who helped me cancel my trip but he did not respond. After 3 weeks I still hadn’t received the refund. Called Red Tag and they said they would figure it out and call me back. Another week later I hadn’t heard back from them and I called again, was told I had to call back later that day. I did.
I’m the end I spoke with 4 red tag agents and nobody helped me. Will NEVER use red tag again.

First time using redtag.ca and I wish I…

First time using redtag.ca and I wish I had read these reviews sooner.
Horrible experience with making a simple change to a hotel that we paid over $2500 for.
Fee to change hotels even though it was done in less than 24 hrs.
Multiple reps telling me I couldn’t change it, it would take up to 15 days to get a refund for the hotel if I cancelled (hotel was fully refundable up to 5 days prior to travel) - just all around awful.
I will never use redtag again.
Expedia for TD is much better by far.
Advice to anyone who is reading this - book directly with the hotel and airline. Less costly.

Beware of Redtag's Misleading Promotions and High Penalties

I wanted to share my frustrating experience with Redtag’s "Black Friday Blow Out Sale," which advertised "Up to 80% Off Vacations, plus get up to a $300 gift card of your choice." The prices on their website were identical to those on Air Canada, but the promise of gift cards convinced me to book for my family of four, along with two other friends’ families.

During checkout, we entered the promo code "BONUS" as instructed, but were directed to call a number for the promotion. Unfortunately, the number was not working at the time. To avoid losing the deal, we proceeded with the booking and called the next day to claim the gift cards. To our surprise, we were told our booking didn’t qualify for the promotion, despite the lack of clear terms stating otherwise.

We had specifically chosen to book through Redtag because of the promotion. When I asked to cancel and book directly with Air Canada (where I could use my Aeroplan points), I was informed that I’d need to pay over $100 per person in cancellation fees—an unreasonable penalty given the misleading promotion.

This experience felt like a complete scam. I strongly urge others to exercise extreme caution when booking with Redtag. Their promotions appear deceptive, and their customer service fails to resolve issues in good faith. Save yourself the hassle!

Seems like a bait and switch scam…

Seems like a bait and switch scam outfit. Just trying to use their site to search its obvious Redtag is unscrupulous. Everytime I thought I found a package I was interested in I got a message saying the price had changed from between about $700 to $1000 per person! Yet it doesn’t update the prices on their own website. Obviously they blame the providers (Westjet, sunwing, or whoever) but I did a direct comparison of the same package on different sites and found that the prices had not miraculously gone up by 30-40%. Very strange indeed.
After reading the reviews of the poor unfortunate folks who made the mistake of booking with Redtag I’m confident with my assessment that they are a scammy rip-off. I wish there was a zero star option.

fleas in the mattress and old and gray towels even though they should have been white

I bought a trip to the Dominican Republic Punta Cana through RedtagTravel at the Vik Hotel Arena Blanka. The hotel is marked as 4 stars, but considering that the bed was inhabited by fleas and even though I made a complaint 2 times because the towels instead of being white were gray and had fringes from being washed so much, I don't think it deserves even a star! Even if Westget was the direct operator, RedtagTravel sold and became responsible for what it sold! On the way back, they didn't even bother to let us know when they were coming to take us to the airport! Totally unprofessional!

RedTag (Redlabel Vacation) scam

I recently booked a Sunwing vacation on Redtag.ca over $5000, but one of my family members made a mistake on her name. Redtag.ca charged me $28 to correct it. However, when I logged into my Sunwing account, I saw that name changes are supposed to be free. I called RedTag (Redlabel Vacation) to address this, but they refused to help. This feels like a scam to me.

There have been numerous complaints about RedTag (Redlabel Vacation) from customers who have experienced issues with their services. Some common complaints include unexpected charges, poor customer service, and difficulties with booking and cancellations

I want to share my terrible experience…

I want to share my terrible experience with an Air Canada vacation package which i booked from redtag. I booked an all-inclusive package from Montreal to Cancun, but upon arrival, the service was disorganized and chaotic. I had to track down my shuttle from the airport to the resort and back, with no instructions provided. The contact person I had, Doris, was unresponsive to my calls and emails.

When I finally reached her about my return shuttle, she instructed me to go to the facility desk at 8:50. However, when I arrived at 8:40, there was no one from Air Canada there, and the hotel staff asked me to wait outside. Eventually, when Doris arrived, I learned the shuttle had already left. After repeated calls to her with no response, I sought help from the hotel bell staff, who suggested I wait for another shuttle, but it would cost $60.

When the shuttle arrived, I discovered it was also from Air Canada, but the driver refused to take us without the extra fee. After some negotiation, we agreed on $50, only to find the shuttle was nearly empty. This experience felt fraudulent, and despite following all the necessary steps, I was met with indifference. I'm extremely disappointed with Air Canada's service.

Booked economy

Booked economy, then they do the whole smoke and mirrors thing and change you to ultra basic. Confirmation clearly states economy. Then they say "well ultra basic is a class of economy". No carry on, no checked bag and too bad. Still trying to deal with this before we leave Saturday. Save yourself some time book directly with the airline or a reputable travel agent. Terrible customer service. Worst part is the real economy flights from westjet online are the same price I paid redtag. Nowhere on redtags website or on any correspondence I received from them does it state ultra basic anywhere.

Never wrote a review my entire life

Never wrote a review my entire life. Red tag is a scammer and feels like they stole my hard earned money. I bought a family package unfortunately I lost my PR card and had it cancelled. It’s 5 days before my schedule date although I did not purchased cancellation insurance but still penalizing me for almost 1400$ is too much. My dream vacation became my nightmare. I first spoke to the agent telling me they’re going to deduct 615$ from me and it’s fare enough. My call was cut and had to call again to red tag they had agent named Mariano and he doubled the penalty and stated to “ take it or leave it” very rude. Hope no one will get my experience with them.

Beware Red Tag and Pelicanos Club

We booked a trip through Red Tag and West Jet Vacations.
We arrived at our first night at the Pelicanos Club....first night these were our issues.
• Had to carry our bags up three flights of stairs. We watched others have their bags taken to their rooms and we were told they were unable to do so.
• When we arrived in the hallway to our room, the lights were completely off. We were in complete darkness and had to use our phones to find the room number.
• Tried to open the door and the key cards didn’t work. We went back to exchange keys.
• Tried to open the door and the key cards didn’t work for a second time. We went back to exchange the keys.
• A maintenance worker came up because they front desk staff assumed we were doing it incorrectly. They had to open the door for us.
• He returned ½ hour later with only one key, instead of two.
• Our safe had been previously been broken into. We asked them to exchange it which they agreed, but they never did. We ended up having to carry all of our valuables every where we went.
• There was mold on the drapery and the wall.
• The beds only had sheets and horrible small pillows.
• We went for dinner. I was given utensils that were dirty. The tables clothes were stained. I asked for another fork and was told just to grab it from a table. No idea if they were clean.
• The smoking area was disgusting. Used cups filled with cigarettes. Nothing clean.
• The next day we were waiting to check out and the drink hut caught on fire. They used a fire extinguisher and white silt covered the pool and all of us sitting near the pool. After that there was no electricity so no blender drinks or music.

We left immediately.
Offered $400 back in Westjet dollars......that's it.

Horrible customer service

Horrible customer service. I purchase a trip to Panama with Sumwing through Red Tag and added the Worry Free cancellation insurance. Within the allotted time of cancellation I had to unfortunately cancel the trip. I called RedTag, they put me on hold and said they were talking to Sunwing. The representative then came back to me and said all was good with the cancellation and i would be receiving a travel voucher for a future trip from Sunwing. After not hearing from them for a week I called back and they told me that I never cancelled the trip, therefore I would not be getting a travel voucher for future use. I have been back and forth with them now for almost 2 months and they are refusing to settle my claim, they still say I did not call to cancel when I have a record of it on my phone bill and had someone here when I called. I will NEVER book through them again and I will let everyone know what they are like. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

Extremely Disappointed with redtag.ca's Customer Service

I recently booked a vacation package to the Bahamas for my wife's 50th birthday through redtag.ca, and unfortunately, the entire experience turned out to be a nightmare.

Initially, we were excited about the trip, but our enthusiasm quickly turned to disappointment when we started hearing and reading negative reviews about the hotel we had booked. Concerned about the quality of our accommodations, we decided to upgrade our package.

This is where the problems began. Despite numerous attempts to reach our booking agent, Darren, via phone calls and emails, we received no response. It was incredibly frustrating to be ignored and left in the dark, especially considering the urgency of our situation.

When we attempted to seek assistance from other agents, we were met with the same unhelpful response - that only the original booking agent, Darren, could make the necessary changes to our reservation. This runaround left us feeling abandoned and powerless.

In the end, we had no choice but to cancel our vacation altogether. The entire experience was not only unacceptable but also incredibly unprofessional.

I cannot express enough how disappointed and dissatisfied we are with the level of customer service provided by redtag.ca. It's evident that they prioritize making sales over genuinely assisting and supporting their customers.

I strongly advise anyone considering booking through redtag.ca to proceed with caution. Based on our experience, their lack of responsiveness and willingness to help in times of need is deeply concerning.

BEWARE! SCAM!

Yesterday, I booked a flight online with RedTag.ca

Today, I received an email from them and it said it only accepts etransfer when booking flights to high-risk destinations. I'm booking a flight to Toronto, Canada!!!!! Their email said I must send funds by the "Deadline" in the email but there was no "Deadline" even stipulated.

Emailing them back and forth without getting any real answers, they insist I should do it over phone....hmmmm.

I called customer service and they said someone would call me back, no one ever did.

They have my credit card number from my online booking but want me to sent etransfer. No legit business travel business would ask for credit card info and then demand an etransfer.

If I could rate them negative 5 stars I…

If I could rate them negative 5 stars I would. I booked a vacation in Aug. I bought worry free insurance just in case. I was allowed to cancel within 72 hours of the date of travel. I called Nov 7 and spoke with Walter. I asked for the trip to be canceled. They wanted to give me half of my $6000 trip in refund and the other in red tag vouchers. I wanted all to be refunded. They did not refund me anything. I waited until Dec 15 and called again and spoke with Maria. There was no record of my previous call.i had to explain everything all over. I asked for the refund again. Waited for the refund to appear. Wrote the supervisor (Danielle) and no response. Called sunwing and they told me to write a complaint....
I wrote again today. I am beyond angry. Do not book with Redtag. They are the worst company I have ever dealt with and I travel a lot.

worst experience ever had

we were in the Hotel from january 13th until jan 20th. starting off we felt ripped off from them. Our plan was for all inclusive but as soon as you stay there things are a different. First day we went at lunch time to the main buffet and we were told our plan doesn't cover lunch buffer ( which it doesn't make any sense to us cause we are all inclusive. They sent us to another " restaurant at the beach " but over there was only fries , green salad , chicken nuggets, burgers and stop counting, yeah we ate every day fries and nuggets, no variety of food , nothing , always same thing, I spent $4000 for a week , at least i wanna eat good quiality food at least different food. At dinner time we only one menu with a couple things for appetizers and entrees and that's it, you basically eat the same thing at night.
At the end of everything meal, and drink they bring you a recipe with 0$ for sign, at the end of EVERY drink, breakfast, lunch and dinner they bother with the sign.
The pool and the hot tub are dirty, a lot of pigeon swimming and walking in the tables, and no one clean.
The all inclusive only includes local drinks brands, ( not even jhonny walker red label ) basic one in a all inclusive plan . they take care mostly from the people coming everyday from the cruises 🛳 which i would assume they spend a bit extra money daily , I am having digestive issues right know because of the low quality of drinks allowed for us and same as the food , and i am 32 years old never happened to me before , i feel i threw away my money big time. Long story short : not even close to a 4 ⭐️ hotel, drinks and food the worst , too expensive for the service they offer you. i wouldn't recommend this hotelto anyone and I'll make sure this review stay here for a long time.
