Trying to claim warranty on a faulty Sony TV
I am trying to claim warranty on a Sony TV that developed a hardware fault. It has been 5 weeks since the engineer came on site to inspect the TV. Still nothing from RRC/Sony. I will think twice before buying a Sony product/using RRC. Simply unacceptable.
Edit
Dr Vishal Panchal, I trust you will find my details in your system.
Edit 2: I am afraid, you have the story mixed up somewhat. When I booked the job over the phone, RRC did not request for a proof of purchase. RRC were happy to charge me £60 for the callout. I supplied both warranty certificate and proof of purchase to your service engineers when they visited to inspect the TV, as a printout. I then waited about 2 weeks and received a written letter through the post explaining the findings but no further instructions. Another week followed of me waiting with no communication from you, so I called your customer support and they told me you needed proof of purchase to pass to Sony. Why was this not communicated to me? I provided this proof over email immediately. I again waited for another week without any communication, called support and they said they were waiting to hear back from Sony. Another week had gone by with no updates, that's when I left the review.
So I think it is fair to say, RRC has not initiated any form of communication with your customers (except for the initial letter through the post). Your customer has to constantly chase you RRC for an update, despite waiting for 1-2 weeks at any given time.
Regards,
Dr Vishal Panchal

Absolutely no idea why John Lewis would…
Absolutely no idea why John Lewis would use these guys for their repairs. I wish I'd read the reviews here before agreeing for these guys to look at my TV... yes, just look - because that's all they did. Allow me to explain.
Regional Repair Centre booked me in to repair my TV - they kept pestering me and would keep calling despite me working shifts. Initially I thought it was just good customer service - how wrong I was. Anyhow, they booked the engineers in to collect my TV.
When the day arrived, two men popped into the property where I was fully expecting them to take the TV away. However, the spent less than 20 seconds looking at the TV and said it needs a new wiring loom. They didn't open it up, didn't take it away - just had a quick look (didn't even touch the TV) and couldn't wait to leave. The issue with my TV has literally nothing to do with wiring. I questioned them and was given a load of stuttering waffle. They said they'd need to order the part from John Lewis and that if I didn't hear from them to 'call the office' which immediately set alarm bells ringing. Looking at other reviews I can see that people have been unable to contact these guys.
A whole month has gone by and I've had no contact from then - no great surprise. I contacted John Lewis to explain the above and in their own words they said Regional Repair 'sound dodgy'. They attempted to contact Regional Repair to find out why the service has been appalling but couldn't get in touch with them either.
I told them that I'd rather have someone else repair my TV as there is now way I want these guys touching my TV. John Lewis agreed with me and it's now been booked in with someone else. Unfortunately John Lewis confirmed that they've been charged a call out fee - I wonder how many other people have had this issue where they've been charged simply to take a look at an appliance. In fact, looking at other reviews, this has been happening.
There is no way I can recommend this company to anyone. Ever.

Funny that.. I'd expect nothing less from your response!! I have your very own letterheaded paperwork in my hands. Get over yourselves.

Bad service
Scammers - came out and charged £60 even though the fault could have been diagnosed over the phone. "Can't repair as the parts aren't made any more" so they just kept the £60 for a 5 minute visit, even though the parts are available online. Had to chase the office for every bit of communication, said emails had been sent when they hadn't. Avoid.
Absolutely useless
Absolutely useless, lied about calling to arrange collection. Eventually came round turned TV on said no faults were found in 30 seconds, then took. TV away week after first they said no faults were found then in the same conversation said it needed a new board. They lie then bodge repairs.
The Repair was done - thank you
Having slated RRC for their appalling c/s and phone answering I feel it only fair that I also let others know that they repaired my combo recorder which I am very grateful. I decided to collect the device myself and saw their offices. Yes it’s busy and not much room to move around due to equipment and cables. However they did the job. Would I recommend them - I would but don’t try contacting by phone go in and deliver & speak with them. If geographically it’s too far then try somewhere else. They’re a family run business going since 1994 & obviously supplying a service. Though please get your phones queuing systems & c/s up to scratch.
