URGENT WARNING: Attempted unauthorized charge of $1,296 after cancellation
I am writing this to warn other potential users about the billing practices at Relume.
I signed up for a 7-day trial of the Team Plan.
I cancelled the subscription within a few hours on the same day.
I verified via the 'Accounts' page that my plan had successfully reverted to the "Free Plan".
Despite following their cancellation process correctly, Relume attempted to charge my card the full annual subscription fee of $1,296 this evening.
This appears to be a severe failure of their billing system or a deliberate "dark pattern" designed to catch users out. Fortunately, my bank flagged and declined the transaction, but had it gone through, I would be fighting to recover a significant sum of money.
I have reported this incident to UK Trading Standards. If you use this service, do not trust the "Cancel" button—remove your card details immediately.

Awesome and wholesome customer support
Special shoutout to the Relume.io customer service. Whilst technically not a customer I did sign up for their 7-day trial with a credit card as payment method for when this trial would expire. My intentions were to review the functionality of a certain feature, to help out a friend who already had the year subscription from a few weeks prior. Short story shorter, I forgot to cancel before the trial ended and received an email about payment information for my new year long subscription. I went literally pale and thought this would be a fun one to explain at home but quickly cancelled my subscription and contacted Relume's customer support via email to ask for a refund.
I received an update on my ticket in exactly 24 min!
Yes, twenty-four minutes with this reply:
"Hi [..],
No problem at all, the refund has been issued! Please see attached Stripe refund receipt.
..."
