Please don’t use this company

Please please please don’t use this car hire company
We used this car hire company on a recent visit to Sardinia,
They are a complete rip off
Our flight going out from the uk was delayed and we didn’t get to Sardinia untill 10:30 pm , we was supposed to be picked up at a designated location but the minibus picking us up never showed, a rival company ended up dropping us there , when we finally hired the car we was asked to check the there was no scratches or knocks on the car ourselves and to take photos with your phone if any were found , bearing in mind it was pitch black and the car was dark grey , when we took the car back they found an inch long scratch on the bottom bumper which seemed odd because the guy who checked the car over went straight to it without checking any other part of the car , that ended costing us £400 .please don’t use this company they are a complete and utter rip off , It was almost a staged procedure, they never even had the decency to drop us back to the terminal… thieves

I don't recommend it. The company does not exchange deposits

So far, I have not received my rental deposit back. Two weeks pass and the bot is still sending the same message automatically. My bank does not see the release of these funds and claims to have sent them back.

Really good company and amazing staff. I was served by Domenico and Peppe and they were truly helpful and polite. They also gave me a free upgrade. I’ll definitely use this company again!

Bus stop outside terminal quick bus…

Bus stop outside terminal quick bus ride to Rental Plus office. 2 young men, quick efficient no hard sell, and really informative. Car was away getting washed so a wee wait but booked a Puma but was given a qashqui. Perfect condition, and got a great price.

Will definitely use again.

DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THE WORST. THEY WILL PUT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY AT RISK.

I would give no stars if possible.

It took me over 2 hours to get the car from Cagliari, and they supplied a defective car. After 2 days the oil engine light came on, I have tried to contact the office and road side support and had no answer from them.
I had to add 1 ltr of oil feom my own expenses to avoid the engine to blow putting in risk my family.
After another 2 days the light come back again and even trying to contact them several times I had no asnwers.

Finally, just before returning the car, I had an email from them saying they will pay back the money I have spent to add the oil. It has been over a month that I returned the car and they stopped returning my emails and I had no refund.

DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY, THEY ARE THE WORST.
THEY WILL PUT YOURSELF AND YOUR FAMILY AT RISK

THEY WILL REPLY TO THIS EMAIL SAYING TO CONTACT THEM, WHICH I HAVE DONE SINCE THE BIGGINING AND NO REPLY WILL HAPPEN AGAIN AND AGAIN AND AGAIN.

Rental at Rome Fiumicino airport

Rental at Rome Fiumicino airport. No que to the desk at checkin or checkout. A nice new car delivered and its small scratches had been noted correctly. We did honor the pickup and delivery times in our contract and this may have helped for our nice experience (I read some negative ones here).

Worst rental car company ever

The experience that I had with Rental Plus made my vacations a highly stressful time.

I booked a car in Italy and, despite the car was brand new, it presented electronical problems in the 4th day of the rental period. Then, everything became a nightmare.

I had traveled with the car to a remote location in north Italy. So I was basically in the middle of nowhere when I contacted the insurance service (I had selected the best insurance available) and they came to tow the car in only a few hours. The car was towed and then I just needed to contact rental plus in order to receive a new car from them.

I called rentalplus and they said, after at least 6 hours and inumerous calls, that they didnt have available cars to send me. Then they suggested a solution that felt like a joke to me in the moment: "we can cancel your contract for now on, so you don't have to pay the next days of the rental period". How was I supposed to continue my trip and, few days later, get back to the airport?

After other 10 calls, they found a car for me, but the car was 6-7hours far (by car), and they wouldnt take the car to me, I would have to get a 10 hours bus to pick the new car and then come back to where I was.
I politely refused the "solution" since I would loose more vacation time and money.

I told them to refund 100% of the value they charged me (sounded pretty fair to me), and after few more days they decided that the total refund wouldn't be possible and charged for the days that the car actually was working.

It costed me several hundred euros to go back to the airport, plus the stressful hours that I had in my vacation. I strongly suggest not to rent cars with this company, they provide the worst customer service that I've ever seen.

Cancelled car hire.

They cancelled my reservation and refused to give me my car because they said that I arrived at the office more that two hours after the time of the reservation. This despite the fact I arrived there with five minutes to spare,waited while one of the staff dealt with the one other customer in the office and the other staff member walked in and out of the office with a some paper in his hand and refused to make eye contact with me when he eventually did decide to deal with me he informed me that I was too late and that my reservation was now cancelled. Both he and his colleague refused to listen or engage with either myself or my wife after that and were in my opinion both rude and very unhelpful.
I was left with having to arrange a new booking which on a Saturday afternoon in Rome Airport which was extremely difficult not to mention very expensive.

Horrible experience

It doesn’t even deserve 1 star!!! Horrible experience. We arrived a little bit too late at the desk and our car was GONE!!! Unfriendly people without any respect! Also, we don’t get our money back! I DO NOT RECOMMEND

Avoid

Avoid. Communication dreadful. Attitude dreadful. This company's unhelpful and difficult behaviour ruined our holiday in Italy. The details I could list here are endless....but I'm fed up even thinking about these people. Save yourself enormous hassle and pick a reputable company. [I have since seen the company's reply to my review. It doesn't even make sense. We did rent a car from them -- accompanied by many hassles -- we had it for a week -- what do they mean by 'couldn't proceed with the rental'? There you go folks -- that's representative of the world you are entering when hiring from RentalPlus -- best of luck.]

Car rental Venice airport

Due to late arrival of our airline, we arrived at 1945 at Venice airport. Rental plus was supposed to be open until 8, but no answer, tried several times. No pickup service either. No reaction to e-mail next morning. We went there Monday morning and they told us reservation had expired, the car was not available anymore. Extremely unfriendly and arrogant employee, not helpful, not focused on solutions or understanding us.

Excellent service at Pisa Airport

Excellent service. Minimal waiting at pick up . Car was as described, Fiat Panda hybrid,10k on the clock. No dents scratches etc. There was no attempt to sell unecessary insuance etc.
Returned car with no problems and no waiting.

Havning read some alarming comments about car hire scams I was a litle anxious,however my personal experince of RentalPlus was excellent

Extremely Disappointing Service and Poorly Maintained Vehicle

I had a very frustrating experience with RentalPlus when I rented a car from their Cagliari office on 13th August.

From the start, communication was a nightmare. I tried several times to contact the office and roadside assistance, but no one responded, despite leaving messages. This lack of support led to further issues during my rental period. On 15th August, I had to add 1 litre of motor oil to the car to prevent it from breaking down, costing me €10 out of pocket. To make matters worse, the oil light came on again, and I had to add more oil, costing an additional €14.50. A total of €24.50 I shouldn’t have had to spend.

The car itself was poorly maintained. It had no windscreen washer fluid and low tyre pressure, things that should have been checked before renting it out. On top of that, I was delayed over two hours when collecting the vehicle, which only added to the inconvenience.

It’s clear the car wasn’t properly inspected before being handed over to me, and the lack of assistance throughout the rental period was unacceptable. I wouldn’t recommend RentalPlus based on this experience, and I’m still waiting for reimbursement for the expenses I incurred and some form of compensation for the inconvenience and for putting my family at risk with a defected car.

I feel for the staff of this rental…

I feel for the staff of this rental company! Clearly and having read the high percentage of poor reviews around claims it is clear that this company aims to exploit those who have their own private insurance. On collection we were given a car which highlighted absolutely no damage and fuel full. However prior to driving I highlighted to the staff scratches and fuel which was only approx 4/5ths full. The friendly staff member replied with no problem just take photos. We took photos of all body scratches and also of the lower than full level of fuel. However on return of the vehicle the staff member immediately focused on a wheel abrasion. This was clearly an old and weathered abrasion. This was the one area I had not captured fully on video. Our pictures focused more on the extensive body scratches! These were not a focus for the staff based on my log of photos. The result was that the staff member said she must follow process in making a charge for this old wheel abrasion scuff / damage. The company also looked to capture an additional claim as the fuel level was very slightly down although still higher than when we collected. Fortunately I had a picture of this which averted a further claim. Any reputable company could easily avoid these kind of challenges through adequate checking of vehicle with the customer or through an actual video before and after rental. We will not personally be out of pocket as we took out personal rental damage insurance. However until this company focuses on values and honesty it is unlikely to prove profitable in the longer term. Do note the relatively low Trustpilot rating for this company and if you go ahead with a booking take extra care in capturing comprehensive evidence around condition of the car. In closing this review i would highlight that I hire cars three times a year and have done so for the past 12 or 13 years. On a positive note this is the only company I have encountered a problem with. On this basis I would recommend you avoid. Based upon principle I will promote my dissatisfaction directly to their customer service and will update through trustpilot in due course.

Fraud on your rental at FCO

Fraud on your rental at FCO. This game applies when you don't want the additional insurance covers, Here is how it works. You are taking the car after a long haul flight and want to go at the soonest. The car collection takes long time as the rental point is understaffed. You don't pay much attention to the car condition, TRUSTING the rental company. At the return, the car is not inspected with you unless you wait for a long queue and you are in a rush to catch your flight, so you drop the keys and thank-you. they promise a later inspection. You trust, then they charge damages that were already present on the car but you didn't cause. Too many additional damages that are impossible to be made on a car in 48h of drive. They charge you with fees and any reply is coming from a rubber wall. This is a FRAUD.

Update: sent all photo evidences of the pre-existing damages but I got back the typical rubber-wall reply reminding the rule. Conclusion: the fraudulent setup is confirmed and the customer service is useless.

Faulty car

Unfortunately, we had a difficult time with RentalPlus in Olbia. Despite communication in the rental office being friendly and informative, we were given a faulty vehicle. We turned the ignition on, the service light appeared. When we questioned the light and if the car was ok to drive, we were told it was fine, it just needed an annual service check. So, we accepted this and left to start our 8 day holiday. However, not long after we left, we proceeded to experience multiple battery failures and had to find help (the best we could with no Italian) to jumpstart the car on three separate occasions. When we spoke to Rental Plus Olbia over the phone for their help, they simply told us to ring for road side assistance as they couldn't be sure we hadn't left the lights on overnight and caused the multiple flat batteries. This experience took 3 days off our holiday before finally a manager was able to find us another car (which we had to drive, after jumpstarting the car, 2 hours to go and get). I've hired cars in multiple countries around the world and honestly found RentalPlus customer service to be very difficult and frustrating as they persisted to put the onus on us rather than assist us. We lost time off our holiday either stuck trying to get to a destination or driving a lot to reach RentalPlus in different airports across Sardinia. I'm sure they hire good cars and we were unlucky, but I won't be rushing back to hire a vehicle from them again.

Overcharged and Disappointing Service

I rented a car from Rental Plus and had an issue with the windshield, which sustained minor damage. They said was not possible for repairing it, they opted for a full replacement and charged me €1,600, when the market average for such replacement is around €500. Even with the €1,000 liability limit, the charge is outrageous. Clearly, the company is trying to make extra money at their customers’ expense. Very sad. I tried to resolve the issue amicably, but the company was inflexible. I advise others to think twice before choosing Rental Plus for their car rental needs.
