Good experience at Catania airport car rental
This review refers to a rental at Catania airport.
The rental office is in the same building as many other car rental companies. There was no waiting line. There was no pressure to purchase additional insurance. The process very fast.
The car was in a very good condition. The agent gave me his WhatsApp number to call him if I need (which I used to ask how to open the back door). I sent him photos of scratches on the car to make sure I will not be blamed for it. On the return there was a guy on the parking lot that check the car, did not even care about scratches, he closed the contract agreement on the spot and I got a copy by email.

don't get tricked by the low prices
probably my worst car rental experience so far. I arrived one hour late due to a flight delay (the flight number was provided during the booking process, I assumed it was to monitor the flight situation as they do at proper car rental services), when I arrived the staff was nowhere to be found at terminal, so I went to the parking office, which was empty as well. (as FYI, the parking office was left open and unsupervised with computer, child seats, satellite kits and a fake dior in plain sight)
After calling them few times and being left under the lovely 35° italian sun, two really rude and extremely bothered employees managed to get me another car, making me pay a quite expensive extra, but not before making me retrieve le key by myself back and forth with the airport bus. (it happened to hertz as well once that they didn't have the car ready, and the agent went himself back to get the key for me).
What bothered me the most was how unhelpful and stuck up the three workers were, being borderline offensive and acting like they were doing me a favor.

Avoid this company; they are a bunch of charlatans!
I paid three months in advance for my car rental. On the day, they received a customer who paid more than I paid three months in advance. They argued that I was half an hour late (while I was in a queue in front of their office). Their people are so rude and nasty. A man who looked shabby talked to me very unpleasantly. Pay three times more to hire a car from Sixt at the airport.
Stay away from these people!

Tried to charge fake damage - TAKE PHOTOS
Rented a car in Bologna. Vehicle was about a 10min walk from the desk. *THANKFULLY* I took a huge 700MB video of the car before leaving, as on return they predictably claimed damage to the car. They were extremely opaque about where the damage was (they even asked me to provide a full set of my photos before they'd tell me where it was - NO THANKS!).
Eventually I got a photo of the damage and was able to overturn the charge (quickly, to be fair on Rental Plus) as it was clearly visible in my video, however it really shouldn't be down to customers to prove the damage was not their fault, the pre-collection inspections should be done properly and should photograph all damage.
This left a bitter taste in my mouth and ruined my final night in Italy where I spent most of dinner contesting the charge via email. I did not receive an apology.

DO NOT USE. We used rental plus when traveling. They ARRANGED for overnight parking for us in a do not drive zone and said they filed all the proper paperwork for us to drive directly to that parking garage. Once we got to parking, the parking garage had no idea what we were talking about. They made a call to Rental Plus and parked the car but after our travels Rental Plus tried to collect a fine from us for entering the do not drive zone. THEN, they tried to send it to collections. This company is disorganized and shady.

Had a great check in experience with Frederico at Catania airport in Sicily.
I messed up with refuelling the car and got charged 50 euros for what was probably 10-15 euros of peterol but my fault , Would have been happy with 25-30 euro charge but felt 50 bucks punative

BEWARE!
BEWARE!! THIS COMPANY WILL TRY TO STEAL THE MONEY FROM YOR CREDIT CARD MAKING FALSE ACCUSATIONS OF DAMAGED CAR!!!!! I returned the car on the airport in the evening, was told by their staff that the check will be done next day. I made the photos of the car to have evidence that all was good. Next day they send 300€ invoice for the scratch on the car. When I asked for evidence they just keep quiet. I wonder how many customers have they done like that????? NO MATTER THAT YOU HAVE THE PHOTOS OF THE CAR BEING IN GOOD ORDER THEY'LL JUST MAKE SOMETHING UP AND CHARGE YOU FOR IT.... DONT USE THEM AND IF YOU DO BUY THE INSURANCE WHICH COSTS MORE THAN THE HIRE ITSELF!!!
Update... the funds have been returned but bitter taste remains.
Be sure to have as much evidence proving the state of the returned car and if possible insist on having the check done before your departure

Reviews can only be based on the individual experience- ours was excellent! Picking up from Catania airport Sicily we had an initial problem with leaving a deposit as our credit card was declined - unfortunately there was no WiFi in the car hire collection hall and it took a long time to make contact with our bank. It seems they assumed it was a fraudulent attempt so declined the transaction!
The receptionist was amazing, she stayed with us throughout our attempts to get it cleared - she gave us water (no air con in hall!) tried alternative options we could apply (unfortunately too expensive) this all took a couple of hours and she never lost patience!
She eventually took us to our car, helping with our golf bags and even loading into the boot!! She wouldn’t take no for an answer. What a star!! 🌟
Her name was something like Livy? Sadly I didn’t get the correct full name but I’m led to believe she is leaving at the end of this month (this is a great loss to Rentalplus )
The car was excellent and both pickup and drop off went smoothly (eventually)
Terrible access to the returns car park though !

Car was not available - Naples
We arrived at the Rental Plus office on time to collect our car on time. Unfortunately, we were informed that our car was unavailable and they could not provide an estimate of when it might be ready. And we were not the only ones.
The guys did not even tried to try and find a solution, they just did not care at all.
We asked them at least to take us to the hotel and deliver the car the next day, but they did not even consider that.
Our advice is to avoid this company.

Lack of response from customer service. Persistence in humiliation by Rental Plus
I opened a complaint through Rental Plus Customer Service regarding an event on 15/09/2024. However, Rental Plus' Customer Service has proven to be more incompetent than the attendant who worked at the store near Milan airport. I was HUMILIATED by a Rental Plus employee, in the worst experience of my life. Still, the treatment I continue to receive is even more humiliating, because Rental Plus refuses to respond to emails from me and Rent Cars, its vehicle rental partner. Do yourself a favor, never rent a car from this company. Don't make the same mistake I made. Don't put my suggestion to you to the test.

DO NOT USE!
Rented a car from them for a week in February, car was in good condition and worked fine. Customer service was sufficient. We had an accident whilst away and paid the required excess fee when we returned the vehicle, no problem.
We got given some documents including a damage report and a few photos but this wasn't enough for our insurance company. They wanted an incident report from the Rental Company otherwise they wouldn't pay us. I got in touch with Point Torino and they sent me a document listing the damage prices, instead of an incident report. Possibly a communication error.
Then I just got ignored. The last communication from them was in March. I have emailed multiple times since then. No reply. Still waiting on an incident report. Almost £1000 out of pocket because they wont reply to my emails.
EDIT: After my initial review they replied saying they were keen to resolve my issue. That was 3 months ago, and I have not had a reply from them since. I have still not had my excess returned. I would give 0 stars if I could.
EDIT EDIT: I have written to the email address given the RentalPlus. They have not replied.

Misdirection by Rentalplus staff resulted in extremely stressful car return and 500 Euro surcharge.
We strongly recommend AGAINST renting a car from Rentalplus. We rented a car for pickup in Naples, Italy and for drop-off in Brindisi, Italy. At the Brindisi drop-off we were charged an amount of 500 Euro additional to the agreed contracted amount of 338.23 Euro. This amount was described in the invoice as "cauzione". Our contract called for return of the automobile by 12:00 pm on September 30, 2024. However, we decided to return the automobile one day early, to the Brindisi Rentalplus office at Contrada Montenegro 1, Brindisi (not at the airport). At that office on the day before our contracted return date we were directed by the Rentalplus representative to return the automobile at the airport. We had an early morning flight from Brindisi on the following morning and endeavoured to return the automobile to a Rentalplus office at the airport the morning of the flight However, no such Rentalplus office exists on the grounds of the Brindisi airport. Since the time required to return the automobile to the Rentalplus office at Contrada Montenegro 1, which is about 10 Km distant from the airport, in the early morning, would have resulted in our missing our return flights to Canada. Hence, we left the automobile in an airport public parking lot and immediately emailed the GPS coordinates of the automobile to the Brindisi Rentalplus office. Presumably the 500 Euro additional charge is associated with our leaving the automobile at the airport, not at the Contrada Montenegro address. I concluded that our being directed by Rentalplus staff to return the automobile to the airport was intentional and represented fraudulent misdirection with the intent predatory profiteering by Rentalplus. BE VERY WARY OF THE ETHICAL PRACTICES OF RENTALPLUS AND PARTICULARLY THE BRINDISI OFFICE.

We booked a car three months in advance through Discover cars for four days complete with full comprehensive insurance for £110.82
Unfortunately our flight was delayed and when we arrived at their desk we were rudely told by their representative that our car had been hired to someone else and there was nothing he could do. He offered us no alternative car or refund and just blamed us as he said we didn't tell them what flight we were on but if that information was requested on the application form I would definitely have provided it. We were left stranded at the airport and ended up paying another £224.94 with another company. The warning signs were there about Rental plus when after booking they said they would need another 600euros deposit when we collected the car even though we had paid for their insurance.
The whole experience spoilt the start of our vacation and now we are reluctant to hire another car.
