Failed to turn up to repair an oven on two separate occlusions. No communication from the company or apology. Managed to speak to the engineer in one occasion and he had clearly been committed to too many jobs on the day. No communication following the first cancellation. On the second occasion the original morning appointment was changed at the last minute to an afternoon slot. Engineer did not arrive and there was no communication. I spoke to the company. No apology. They promised to call the engineer so he could speak to me but this did not happen.
A very unreliable company

I found Paul to be reliable, effective and he did an excellent job. He was also kind enough to reorganise his schedule to give me a morning appointment. This meant l did not have to wait in all day between 8-5pm. Usually it would not have mattered to me, but when l explained that my daughter was seriously ill in hospital he came first thing in the morning. This meant l was able to go and be with her.
Thank you

Engineer Paul has just left my property after completing a most efficient repair and service of my Rangemaster cooker. 10 out of 10 as far as I am concerned.

When I called Rangemaster, they referred me to Repairtech as my oven was out of warranty. They promptly charged me a single fee of £234 for call-out and parts. They told me an engineer would call me in 1-2 days. No call. So I called them and they said they'd follow it up. When I called the next day, having heard nothing from them, they told me that there were no engineers serving my area, York, any more. So, I expected a refund.
I called a week later, on a Monday, to ask where my money was. They said that they'd located an engineer on the previous Friday. Trouble was, they didn't actually call me then. So, having found an alternative engineer, I asked for my refund again. They said it would take 7-10 days and I told them that the clock started ticking when they told me they couldn't help the previous week. I'm still waiting for my refund. Funny how they can take your money in an instant, but pressing the refund button takes so much longer.
The alternative provider charged me £108 for all call-outs and, having arrived promptly, charged an additional £68 for the part. So, £176 vs £234.
If Rangemaster refers you to Repairtech, you might want to see if there's an alternative provider who may save you money.

Overpriced, incompetent, rude, took over two months to fix....
I am writing to complain about RepairTech's very poor service in relation to repairs for my Rangemaster cooker
Having been referred by the Aga Rangemaster Group I explained in my very first phone call to RepairTech that I could not find the serial no of the appliance needing repair. The cooker was bought in 2014 and the customer service representative agreed that with appliances of this age that does sometimes happen.
I was told that even though I was unable to provide the serial number I could pay £150 for an initial inspection at which an engineer would be able to identify the serial number of the oven and the exact parts that needed repair.
The engineer visited on September 6, identified the parts that needed repair and told me that I would receive a quote in between 3 to 5 working days.
When after ten days this quote failed to arrive I called Repairtech customer services again and asked what progress was being made. I spoke to someone who informed me that because the engineer had also been unable to find the serial number RepairTech had been unable to identify the part numbers needed and that this was why a quote had not been raised and that it would not be possible to do so. He said that he would look into the matter further and get back to me.
The next day I spoke again to Repairtech customer services. He agreed that following the initial engineer's visit and failure to discover the serial number the specific parts could not be identified and that was why RepairTech were unable to produce a quote. He did ask if the engineer had pulled out the appliance to find the serial number on the back? I told him that that hadn't happened. He wondered why. Me too.
Frustrated at this point at paying £150, a fairly premium price for a 20 minute visit and service that had singularly failed to do what it was supposed to- I asked for a refund of the £150. Customer services said that he would speak to his manager. He rang today and left a voicemail asking me to call him back. Apparently he had also sent me an email to say that they would not refund me but he had taken my email address down incorrectly so this never arrived.
I did call RepairTech's customer services again today and spoke to someone who having read the case notes and started by saying once again that the quote could not be generated because the lack of a serial number meant that the correct part numbers could not be identified. A couple of sentences later she seemed to contradict herself and suggested that the parts could have been identified and ordered but that the whole process had been stopped because I had demanded a refund before this could be done. Not true. She also said that if I had read the small print- not that any print, letter or documentation was sent to me, I would have known that a refund on this initial £150 visit would never be issued to me.
I really hope that you have a recording of the call. As well as lacking any customer care I would describe her tone as sarcastic and unhelpful. I did try asking to speak to a manager but none were available. I then asked for an email address to send through my complaint.
I felt backed into an expensive corner so went ahead to get the repair done with RepairTech. It then took multiple emails and calls over weeks to ask when the parts were coming, then more calls and emails to find out when the engineer was coming, then when he arrived the engineer told me that a key part for fixing the cooker was missing- then- no surprise now, took many further emails and calls and weeks to ask where the missing part was and when the engineer was coming. From initial call it took months to fix my cooker. Just terrible terrible- non existent customer service. Of note the engineers, third-party staff drafted in, were always very pleasant and to be honest seemed embarrassed by the rubbish service we were enduring.

An engineer visit was promptly arranged and my Rangemaster faulty element was replaced. All very satisfactory although I feel the call out charge of £150 was excessive particularly as it didn’t include any parts - which I feel sure it used to if the engineer had them with him. The engineer was ready to return until I pointed out to him that I was capable of replacing a knob once it had arrived! Over all satisfactory but on the expensive side!

On my initial call I explained that the problem with my AGA electric module was that it kept tripping at very random times. The engineer called the next day and was told the same thing. He came out and within a very short time decided that he couldn’t do anything as the problem was intermittent! He then left. I spoke to the office who were frankly not interested in the fact that I had paid £276 merely to have an engineer come and tell me what I already knew.Terms and conditions arrived only after I requested them and the engineer had left. All in all the service was disinterested, offhand and totally unsatisfactory. An expensive mistake that I will not make with this company again.
