I was a member for many years and always got cover at a fair price, and had good service when I needed it.

I moved away for two years because I got free breakdown cover with my new car. Now that has ended I can continue to cover my car, and my son's car too.

The company do not give anything by way of loyalty to renewing customers

Doing well - quick response by email to my questions; also little things like lost keys, flat tyres, wrong fuel all covered whereas other companies often don't as standard.
Not so well - trying to charge me for a renewal at double (yes, double!) that for a new policy. I thought that practice had been stopped.

Website is easy to use. You can add and amend as you go along with price change visible. Price for new customers is good. I've not used any service yet to pass comment. Hopefully, I won't need to use service.

Renewal over the phone was easy, quick and helpful

Recently had to call-out RescueMyCar as my car broke down 1/2 a mile away from home. I know this is correct because the digital trip meter on the dash always starts from zero for every journey. RescueMyCar refused to attend as they claimed I was still less than 1/4 of a mile from my home address. This is part if their T&C's but they measure the distance by a direct circle drawn from your home address and not the distance you have actually travelled on the road even when there was no other short distance you could have physically driven. BEWARE!
Also the recovery distance to a garage if greater than 10 miles will cost you over £5 per mile which is over twice that which independent recovery firms will charge. Another rip-off.
Lastly, and most important, you have to find the garage that will look at your car within a 10 mile circular radius again this is as per the crow flies not actual distance by road. You have to do this yourself! How do you do this at night time when every local garage is closed - I asked RMC this question and they could not answer it. BEWARE of this.
In general, this is a very cheap policy but it is cheap for a reason it that you are actually covered for very little and will end up paying extra to them in many situations. Cheapest is not always the BEST.
