I was skeptical due to the negative reviews but after using Respondent for 3 months, I am very positive. It is a great way to earn some extra cash on the side. I have been paid for the studies I participated in.

The only two points that are a bit annoying are 1) for studies where the payment is above $20 dollars, you get paid gift cards and 2) most available studies look for a very specific target group, so not many studies are available. I would say I am able to participate about once every two weeks on average.

Overall very positive experience! Would recommend.

Participated in a survey, I was initially accepted, then I completed he survey and only when completed the survey I was disqualified.
Contacted their customer service, they basically couldn't care less and sent me an automated response.
Avoid like the plagues

Avoid, there are so many fake listing trying to steal your personal info and asking to share your personal data, pension investment app screens and asking to open some dodgy links. I would never do such a thing. Becareful guys!

I cannot find where to send them an e-mail. here are my issues:
1. I had to update the status of my studies, no one at this company updates your participation studies.
2. You are not informed when you do not qualify for a study.
3. They make it almost impossible for someone to find where to send them an e-mail.
4. I am not wasting anymore of my time with this company.

I would have said 5 stars about a month ago because I got a few studies & the pay was reasonable, one study paid out $150 but most I got picked for were $5-10. However I got picked for a larger one again, $100 for 1 hour, and never received my incentive so I reached out to the support team & they basically told me they can't do anything, I have to contact the researcher directly, however Respondent did not give me any contact info, they said I had to message the researcher through their platform, which I tried to do but the study is listed as closed & will not allow any more messages to the researcher. I wasted an hour of my time on an extremely annoying & boring focus group about a horrible insurance mascot for some company I have never heard of, missed an hour of paid work at my job, and got nothing. Don't waste your time, go to L&E Research or ACOP or Focusgroups.org who I always get a payment from when I am chosen.

It seems to be a good company to work with. Assignments are interesting and varied and there are a lot of them. I would have easily given them five stars but their payment system now is horrid. I done some projects with them before when they paid via paypal. Now they use the company Tremendous that offers gift cards as payment. I do know the Tremendous offers a PayPal and a Venmo payout option but respondent has decided that they were not going to include that in their list of offerings. The closest you can get is a prepaid Visa card which is absolutely useless. I couldn't even use it on Amazon. There is a list of mile long of places that you are not allowed to use this card but then they tell you that it is accepted anywhere that the Visa logo is accepted. Which is just not true. Right now I have a couple hundred dollars of useless gift card because I can't seem to get anyone to help. Basically, I gave this company won't start because there is absolutely no point in trying to work with them if they are not willing to pay what they say they're going to. Don't believe you're doing a job for $250 because trust me you're not. If they'd like to change the pay structure back to something logical and stop lying about their payments and I would be more than happy to change this from a one until five rating. But until that happens I can't see this company lasting in the long run. Participants are going to run out when they realize there's no pay that's all useful.

Initially the idea of respondent was good to me as I could make pocket money for trips etc! But the reality was different!
In two occasions I have completed a survey and not been paid! Respondent don’t side with the participant! They tell you tough luck ! I completed a survey and asked to finish it by a certain date ! When requesting when I was going to get paid , I was told I wasn’t being paid and they gave an excuse as my answers weren’t suitable for the demographic they required ! My question to them was that they still had my answers so Please could they be deleted as I did not want them to be used if I wasn’t going to

Control of that ! On a second occasion I sat down on a Sunday afternoon and completed an AI questionnaire! Took around 35 mins and on getting to the end it said they already had enough participants! When checking two days later , I could still enter the questionnaire so I’m sure people were still entering this project not knowing they would never get their incentive! People are essentially doing research spending valuable time on projects without getting paid and respondent won’t do anything about it! It’s disgraceful! I’m from Saudi Arabia, and this is the first survey site I’ve genuinely liked. I actually earned $100 from a research interview about hotels and my experience with them.
The session lasted 60 minutes with the lovely researcher Anna — she was very kind and made the interview extremely comfortable. It was a one-on-one conversation, with no one else present. The questions were easy, and I didn’t even have to answer everything; I simply shared my opinions.
I highly recommend this platform!

I previously loved Respondent for the most part, but there's a couple areas they really need to improve in that have been frustrating as of late.

One is the limitation on the number of screeners we are allowed to take in a 24 hour period. This has got to go. Maybe you could limit by the number of screeners the person actually makes it through all the way, but when it kicks you out on the first question, 3rd question, or anytime before you successfully get to the end, which means you will not get selected for the study and it disqualified you, why should that count against someone's 10 allowed for the day. Today alone I think my first 5 of 10 screeners all disqualified me at some point which really sucks. That means I could have applied to 5 other ones and actually had a chance to make money on them but apparently I chose the wrong ones and now half of mine so far for the day were a total waste that I won't see a dime for. You have got to change this Respondent. You are the ONLY site that has a limitation like this and it's awful and serves literally no purpose other than to ensure people can't make money.

I'm starting to make more on other sites now that don't have this limitation and it's making your site less attractive.

The other thing that needs to change is your customer service. They are extremely slow to respond, do not follow up, and when you ask for an update you get a nasty gram that you need to be patient and wait.

You also do not protect the participants, you side with the researchers. You also do not honor your FAQ articles. I battled a payment issue for months and finally had to give up where I showed up and the researcher didn't. I had all the receipts and per your help article I deserved payment. You did not help me, you covered for the researcher.

You are doing the same thing right now on another one that hasn't paid me and I don't anticipate you will help me on that one either, and on that one I completed the assignment and have screenshots and proof just like I did on the other, which you are ignoring.

I'm also about to have another one that is past the 10 business day mark, which I will need to email you about and you probably won't help me on that one either.

You aren't doing your job, you're not protecting the participants and the money they rightfully earned, and you're not even following protocol for your own help articles.

I'm starting to get a little leery of the website to be honest. If there's no customer service or accountability that you will have my back and get payment from the researcher that they owe me, then why would I use your site at all? And it seems to be getting worse. You need to fix your problems. Quickly. It's borderline starting to feel like a scam. You owe me almost $200 right now.

i used it, and had many positive work, which showed me payment is done. but i never got my payment on the PayPal. so i would say, scam and sad for my time.

I wanted to make sure they were legit, so after I qualified for, then completed my first survey, I waited before I took any others. I did so because they said I would get paid within the next 14 days (I really don't understand this wait time when other companies pay immediately, but alright). I wanted to make sure they weren't counting on me forgetting and that they really would pay. After about 10 days, they paid me as promised. One problem. The survey was supposed to pay $5 but I only got $4. Well, maybe there's some kind of admin fee I didn't read closely enough about.
Still happy they kept their promise, I then began to try for their other jobs. So far, I haven't gotten any offers after I take the initial screening and now they're telling me I've reached the maximum amount of screenings allowed in a certain time frame. Seems like there's a lot of "Hurry up and wait" going on with Respondent. This slowdown isn't the best for people who are really looking for reliable extra income.

I’ve been a member for 10 days and completed 23 surveys, and got absolutely nothing in return. This is a BIG a scam. If you value your time, don’t waste it here. They don’t deserve your attention. I deactivated my account today and honestly regret every minute I spent on this platform.

I have been applying on this site for the past two months and have not had one acceptance to fill out a survey. In contrast I have made over 800 on dscout and at least 800 on users in the past two months in the same time. Period. I also have tried to get in touch with customers support and cannot even locate the way to do it.

Great platform allow I keep getting kicked off survey but I will keep trying

I have tried deleting an account five times. Four of those times directly by the Respondent team. It appears inactive, yet the information of that account isn't deleted. It is kept. Even after being guaranteed deletion FOUR TIMES in the last four months. You have the right to ask for withdrawl and deletion, sure. But is it done? Not in my experience.

We set up our survey and sent for review, after which it got rejected, but the funds were taken. When we fixed the issue and asked that they review and launch the survey, they did not respond, I followed up and still didn't get a response, till date. Now the chat option is no longer available. They really need to improve their communication.

I have nothing to complain about. I've done several types of surveys and have always been paid correctly.

For me, it would be a 5 because Respondent offers a great diversity of surveys, ranging from professional topics to hobbies.

This platform is pure crap! You never receive any jobs. Even if you might apply to an interview, it suddenly disappears, after you wanted to actually start it! Furthermore there are countless fake reviews (just look on Oct. 2nd, with dozens of very short positive reviews on the same day, that never happens on any serious site at all!) Hence, all fake! Just keep away from this site at all costs!
