Great product absolutely love it
Customized Nostalgia!
I found Retro Drive last September. I have a RetroPi but while great it was not able to play the games I really wanted. After communicating through email and getting the details down, I now have the Nvidia Shield with a custom 1tb HD and a library I hand selected making the machine unique. The Customer Service and Experience is Exceptional!
If you are serious about Retro Games, this is the spot to have your own unique Retro Drive System built!
Glitchy system
Glitchy system. Case not what pictured. Bait & switch tactic. Zero instructions. YouTube instructions just play video of game being played. Voiced my concerns, did get reply, but no word on solutions. Do not buy!!

Wireless controllers wont work if not…
Wireless controllers wont work if not plugged in and are supposed to be wireless and cords so short won't have brought if i would have know this

Great but Customer Service needs work
The product itself is absolutely amazing. I really missed playing these old games that I used to play all the time when I was growing up. The ONLY reason this isn't getting 5 stars is they could use some work on their customer service. Been trying to figure out how to get the Dreamcast games to work and still haven't heard any feedback. Otherwise, great product.

Tactile controller
The controller is quite tactile which I love!! Makes it feel more interactive

Best emulator
This is the best emulator I have ever played. The amount of games is insane. The only reason I give 4 stars is because a lot of the more modern games don't work. For instance n64, playstation

I had some problems with the first unit they sent. In order to get customer service you need to message then on Facebook. The are sending me a replacement unit so hopefully it works well.

I do not do this lightly, but I'm having major issues with the system I just paid over 200.00 for. I contacted and have been waiting 2 weeks now for a response as to what to do. If we can get this taken care of so the system works I would be thrilled and I would continue to buy product from this company because it truly is amazing to have all these games its like reliving my entire childhood. it would just be a lot better if I could actually play them.

Have not received my order
Have not received my order, nor have my multiple emails been answered. My order was placed early on in January, in the 7th a pre shipment label was issued but USPS has never received the package. I understand businesses get busy, but almost 2 weeks with no response is not acceptable.

Decent system...if it works. Less than stellar customer service.
The system was missing a cable when we received it, I contacted support and they told me the cable was shipping and would arrive in a few days and apologize for the delay - great.
Once we got the system hooked up we had more problems - only 1 of the 2 Bluetooth controllers will connect via Bluetooth, no working sound, system wasn’t loading games correctly. I reached out to the original customer service person who I talked to the first time around - after no response in 48 hours I contacted the customer support through the website - still haven’t heard back from anyone at Retro Drive. Through watching many YouTube videos and many hours of trial and error we FINALLY have the system working for the most part - sound works, games load correctly, but we’re still not able to connect the 2nd controller via Bluetooth, and cannot find how to adjust screen display size. The games are great when they work and seem to be accurate but the lack of response from Retro Drive for our continued issues is frustrating to say the least.

Started off well...went downhill fast (UPDATED)
I really struggled as to whether to give this 1 or 2 stars. I went with 1, the transaction started off well but went south fast. I ordered it on 12/12 and received it on 12/21, so no problem there. I had never purchased from them before so with it being a gift I wanted to plug it in and make sure it was working, and low and behold it didn't. So I emailed customer service and they responded quickly letting me know that it was probably the SD card so they would send a new one and I would have it on 12/26. So I was a little disappointed I wouldn't have it by Christmas, but still no big deal. And that was the last correspondence from customer service sent on 12/22. It is now 1/7 and I still have not received the new SD card and multiple emails from me have gone unanswered. They gladly took my payment and have now stuck me with a system that doesn't work. There is no phone number so the only thing I can do is hope that one of my emails will be answered. I have tried to be patient, but the complete lack of communication and caring is really leaving a sour taste in my mouth. I want to like this company, but it's starting to feel a little like a scam. I will update this review in the future if anything comes of this, but who knows if they'll even actually read this.
UPDATE: After a lot of communication attempts I did finally receive my new SD card and it worked exactly as advertised. I don’t know the exact date, but I received the card in late January after my initial order was placed in December. It was a very frustrating process at times, but I have nothing bad to say about the system itself other than some of the N64 games are unplayable due to the drop in FPS. But that’s forgivable due to everything else the system offers. Maybe it was just a rush after the holidays, but if you have a problem with your system make sure you keep on them about it until they respond. I’m not 100% sure I ever would have gotten this resolved if I hadn’t been persistent in emailing them and Facebook messaging them constantly. But overall it is a great product and I am enjoying it a lot.
