Shame you failed to put that we where helpful in sorting out your issues. I guess you're still confused.

Scammers

Scam people who double charge for courses. Shame on you. I hope you get busted. What you’re doing should be illegal. I wanted to change a date and they wanted £20 for that. Course cost normally £22,50 through CITB and you charged me £43,70. How ridiculous. I will write everywhere about your double charge scam

I wonder if you go into Waitrose and moan that things could be cheaper in Lidl?

You certainly, don't understand the pricing of the service fairly priced and purchased from us, ours is not subsidised by a levy or grant, it is a full price meaning you can claim it back in full there fore costing you nothing. Are you aware that in the time scale you want to change your test CITB would not have allowed you to?

But you didn't have this knowledge at the time of purchasing in a free market.

You enjoyed the advice sought, the conversations with a person who was able to help you directly, the £22.50 is a price where you don't get to speak to anybody with knowledge, have to do it all yourself, and hope you are selecting the correct test category, and hope you don't then get the wrong information on further training, or card application.

I'm sure you have heard the saying pay peanuts...

Also it helps you use your real name when leaving feedback so you can be identified and helped.

I do hope when costing all your jobs you take a leaf out of you own book and charge the most minimum of prices, and if anybody under cuts you make sure you reduce your prices.

Oh and calling us scammers, when we are not is liable.

Perhaps now you have some information, you'd like to consider your feedback.

I booked a CSCS test by phone believing…


I booked a CSCS test by phone believing I was booking directly with Pearson VUE.
At no point during the call was it clearly explained that this was a third-party booking service, or that the booking would become non-refundable because a voucher would be purchased on my behalf.

I only found this out after payment was taken, when I received the invoice. When I later asked to cancel (more than 72 hours before the test), I was told this was not possible.

The test itself may be valid, but the booking process is misleading and not transparent. If I had known I was not dealing with Pearson VUE directly, I would not have booked through this company.

I recommend booking directly with Pearson VUE to avoid confusion.

"I booked a CSCS test by phone believing I was booking directly with Pearson VUE." - That belief is your error as advised in your complaint response. From the booking call it is advised we are the Right Online Course Company 4 times.

"I later asked to cancel (more than 72 hours before the test), I was told this was not possible." - At first you claimed work emergency, then advised you have found an alternate provider. A full refund was not offered at your request but a partial one was in line with the terms and conditions.

"the booking process is misleading and not transparent.". - From the booking call it is advised we are the Right Online Course Company 4 times. You agreed to our price/terms and service.

The owner, Frankie Paul John Hipwell-Larkin, runs this in a way that feels exploitative. Courses are sold at inflated prices even though equivalent qualifications are widely available elsewhere for much less. i would give zero stars if i could.

If you’re considering paying for a course with this company, I strongly suggest looking at alternatives like cosac.co.uk. My experience trying to get a refund was met with hostility, including comments aimed at my family that were completely unacceptable (racially abuse your autistic son).

Your wrong about pricing, we are a NFP (Not for Profit.

Your are wrong about "cosac" as there courses have different shorter life spans and qualifications.

So wrong. You should now humbly apologise.

Their system failed to work properly…

Their system failed to work properly during my test—the timer continued running, but I was unable to answer the questions due to technical problems.
When I contacted customer service, they refused to offer either a refund or the opportunity to retake the test, despite the fact that the failure was on their end, not mine. This means I've lost both my money and my time.
Before booking, I wish I had read the many other negative reviews describing identical problems. It appears this is a recurring issue with their platform rather than an isolated incident. They were really unprofessional when I contacted them.

I booked the Level 1 online test

I booked the Level 1 online test, followed the process, and was failed afterwards for wearing headphones. But the real problem was what happened next. When I asked for clarification, instead of a normal explanation or support, I was met with an openly hostile reply. I was told it was “my loss,” that they would only deal with me through a solicitor or a court, and that further communication would be charged as “labour costs.” The tone was confrontational and unprofessional, rather than helpful or customer-focused. Whatever the rules may be, no company should treat a paying candidate that way when raising a reasonable concern.

We suggest you seek some medical advice, its seems you are unable to remember any facts.

HERE IS WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED:
You bought the course via a link on our website that sets out the requirements, On this web page it sets out system / hardware / requirements and a list of exam rules.
Once you completed the modules, you then has access to the exam.

You are shown the “rules” of the exam before starting THREE TIMES, you should have read these rather than skip them, in particular:

Rule 7: NO HEADPHONES (if your microphone is part of your headphones please take them off and leave them on your desk)

YOU HIT START.
To quote you “and was failed afterwards for wearing headphones”.

“But the real problem was what happened next. When I asked for clarification, instead of a normal explanation or support, I was met with an openly hostile reply.”
No you where given an explanation, you where set comprehensive emails to yours with screen shots.

YOU NOT US then began send abusive emails.
YOU THEN was asked not to be rude.

YOU THEN decided to get on your high horse and threaten legal action (without reason) you then decided to get an AI letter drafted as if you have some credibility.

YOU was called and asked, “What is your genuine gripe” you then decided to get abusive, you are met with like for like. (All calls are recorded).

YOU where then informed your behaviour at breaking the exam boards rules, and you abusive swearing tone will see you removed from the exam boards system, at this point you were told you would “your loss” if you didn’t change your attitude.

YOU continued to do so.

We told you have no credibility and no further emails as per your request would be answered unless through the courts or a legal representative.

Working here is generally a delight, until we get people like you who break rules, cheat, get caught, think it okay to be abusive, and then cry wolf looking for public support.

TO BE CLEAR ANY ACTION BY YOU TO RECOVER YOUR PAID FEE TO US WILL BE DEFENDED BY US IN COURT with any additional charges, fees and unpaid time.

Absolutely shocking - they are not approved only a third party company. DO NOT give them your MONEY for any of their courses. You will end up having to go with and pay with another company !!!

Hello, £43.70 is our price. As per our website and information provided on our phone calls "We are here to put all your eggs into one basket and charge an admin fee above the charges made by going direct. This charge is probably less than making multiple phone calls and arranging postage of revision materials etc and we think it only fair that you know in advance before booking with us." This price was chosen to be paid by you. The 22.50 is subsidised and cannot be claimed back on tax returns. Best of luck to your son on his retest. ROCC.

have now had to book another test with another company . dont waste your money with this company ,just look at the many negative reviews having exactly the same problem as myself. wish i would of looked at the reviews before booking with this circus . there system does not work and you will loose your payment.
they have told me they will not refund or restart my test yet the time ticks away but you cant answere the questions . a con women at the helm of a slowly sinking ship . put your money on a three legged donkey rather than waste it here.

Hi Peter, as per your email sent to us, your communications were unclear. "they have told me they will not refund or restart my test" - correct: We are unable to set you up with a new account (as a new customer) as you have already accessed part of the course. We have tried to support you with your exam but you called and did not follow the instructions and complained about the system on how to get a CSCS card instead. Due to your time wasting and the terms and conditions you agreed to you have still been offered support but at the chargeable rate. I think it needs to be clear that we have tried to help but you do not know your username or your password or which email you use or what device you use or what browser you use, there is only so much support we can offer/give to people who are unclear in their own actions. Good luck with the new company you are using, please be sure to contact them for support and not us. ROCC

Hi Jason, Your money was not "stolen". You paid to sit a Test in a Centre and an Online qualification course for a Green CSCS card. You sat both parts of the service you paid for and admitted to breaching the exam rules (Checking your phone during an official qualification exam). With this the Examining body banned you from the system meaning no retest can be offered due to your rule breach. This was advised to you along with the reason for not receiving a refund as you had used the service paid for. You are still able to obtain a CSCS Green card but as advised on the phone to you, you need to find another provider to offer this. If you have not had a CSCS card before you can get a temporary card valid for 6 months.

Booked a test for my son for a week later, got email back saying if that date is not available they will phone to confirm new date, they sent a email with one day notice which I never seen as wasn’t told to expect and left a voicemail with one day notice, no study info sent that was paid for, there customer service is shocking, avoid this company

Oh Dearest Lynn.

In short you made a request, we left messages, sent emails letting you know this requested date would not be available, you chose to ignore these communications.

The long version.

After close of business on the 7th of February you REQUESTED a test for your son for the 14th of February for his day off.

We administered this request on the Monday, 10th February, as per out pre Terms and Conditions you knew this was a request and the date chosen may not have been available.

You chose a test centre which is only open part time, in fact only one afternoon and one morning a week.
You say you go an email from us, stating if that day was not available someone would call to confirm a new date.

But this information is shown to you before booking and confirmed on line. So you knew in advance of paying the system.

You ticked the box agreeing that you understood this, and accepted the terms and conditions before making payment.

A phone call was made to directly to the Candidate (your son), as they would know availability better. A message was left, and we have a recording of the call.

An email was sent to you on the Monday 10th at 12:07. With an alternative date on when the test centre was actually open.

You say you gave both "mine and my sons phone numbers” because my son does have access to his phone during work hours which for him is 5.30 am to 6.30 pm.

A message was sent to him, and you where emailed as the purchaser.

YOU DID NOT READ THE EMAIL, until by your own admission Wednesday the 13th.

And your son did not listen to his phone message. (you said he cant at work, but you where happy to call him during the same times to discuss and alternative date / time of test when we offered them to you). Plus he could have heard it after work, and rescheduled.

It was then that you realised that you had missed the appointment.

We have you stating you had had the email since Monday but was at a hair appointment so did not read it.

You claim “how I was spoken to was disgusting” I think that you meant to say was “I was rude and abrupt to all the staff there and when the manager spoke to me he was firm and factual, but I still couldn’t get my way so I had a tantrum”

You have since ‘threatened us with trading standards, the ombudsman, and your bank’ we will now be shaking in our boots.

But the facts remain the same and you are in breach of our Terms and conditions of pre booking, please note any charges made against us such as admin fees will also be claimed from you via a CCJ.

We are always happy to refund in full if we make an error, in this case the error is yours and yours alone.

Applying for the CSCS can be tricky

Applying for the CSCS can be tricky, even bewildering. However, I found the process easy, and these guys held your hand, sorted out the exams, and were on tap when inevitably help was needed. 5 stars.

Yours isn't and the refund was applied in full.

Poor communications

Whilst I wanted a course at short notice, you emailed me back after 5pm once I had gone home for the evening to confirm a course for the next day. Unfortunately, when I was back at my office (Liverpool) and read the confirmation email for my course at 12 noon that day in Wrexham, my car was in for service and so not suitable. Had you emailed my confirmation before 5pm I would have seen the email and would have been in Wrexham (my hometown) to be able to attend. Please forward to me an alternative course day/time for next week please. I wasn't keen on paying for a course with not setting up the day/time there and then - this proved my feeling and not satisfied at all.

Hi Christian, As per our booking process and terms and conditions we request confirmation emails are checked, and that no appointments can be changed on the day of the exam. you paid on 10/09 and we contacted 10/09 requesting your preferred date, you requested 11/09 PM. This was booked and a confirmation email was sent 10/09 to confirm. Our phonelines are open from 0800-1800 (listed on our site) meaning emails can be sent anytime during this period.

You only need to take one look at their Trust Pilot Review Status to see that this company are failing to provide a recommendable
service .

I called this company by telephone looking to take a CSCS test , before paying for the test I specifically asked if they could send me the course details by text message , because I knew at the time that I would be unable to access my emails for 4 days . The Right Online Course Company said yes we can send the details by mobile text message , so I went ahead and payed for the test based upon this factor ….However ROCC did not send me the test centre location via mobile text message as I had requested and which they had agreed to do (verbally over the phone ) , and instead they sent me an email with those details attached , which at the time I could not access as I had already pointed out to them prior to paying .
I had no knowledge at the time that ROCC had sent me this email as like I had told them I could not access my emails at the time .

The CSCS test was due to take place within approx 48 hours from making the call to book the test, so I waited for the text from
ROCC regarding the test centre location time etc on my mobile which NEVER arrived .

When I tried to call ROCC to explain their error they were in complete denial and said that they had sent me an email with all the details and that I would have to pay for the course again . This was exactly the point I was trying to make but they wouldn’t listen to me , I had specifically asked not for an email but a mobile text message telling me where the course was due to take place prior to me paying for the course .

At this point I had to get my bank involved to try to get my money back because I thought that I was dealing with a bogus company in ROCC when they wouldn’t take on board what I was saying about their mistake , but since I got my bank involved to attempt to get me refunded (which I’m not actually even sure if I got refunded because my bank needed more information from me which I did not persue),
ROCC are now trying to take me to court in dispute of my attempted refund claim which I never persued …..to try to get even more money out of me for a service they didn’t provide . Aside of this I also received abusive emails from a memeber of their team when I attempted to explain their mistake via email , one of their staff wrote me an email saying :

“you must be a virgin and still live at home with your mother .”

I have noticed that this is not an isolated incident and you only need to read the replies to their other 1 star reviews to see that they repeatedly insult and blame customers who have had a bad experience in trying to use their service .

I only wanted to book a cscs test and now this company are trying to take me to court for hundreds of pounds , over their own errors.
They’ve already taken my money once and I’ve not had a fair chance to sit the test that I paid for , now they’re trying to get more money out of me for what exactly , I have no idea 🤷‍♂️

.….. A truly awful experience , I can only advise people to stay well clear of this company if they are thinking of booking a course or test of any kind .

If I could give a minus 5 stars review , then I would .

As you can see from their reply to my review here this company won’t accept fault and they treat you like an enemy rather than listening to you as a paying customer , they don’t have time to listen or understand their error and they think that they’re still right even though they are completely wrong .

This all boils down to my initial phone call , where I specifically asked before paying for the course if they could send me the course details via mobile text to which they agreed but didn't follow through with. Now they’re making every excuse under the sun and trying to justify themselves , if ROCC had informed me of the test centre location then I wouldn’t have had to try to guess where the test centre was , I actually ended up at their old premises which was an abandoned block of offices with a broken intercom system and no entry at ground level .

I will never use this company again and I advise that others choose to use a different provider too .

Their Trust Pilot Review says it all , it’s absolutely shocking!! I should have checked this before making my booking and handing over money . Making contact with this
company was a mistake from the very beginning 🤦‍♂️. Be warned !!

As addressed in your original complaint in August 2023. Sending a Text with the address is not a normal service we provide and costs us to do so. We took no extra payment for this request.
On every call when booking we always confirm that Emails contain Test date/time/location and to check this prior to your test date to confirm your details are correct, we find it hard to believe that you can google our number to call us but not be able to check your emails within a 3 day time period. We also confirm the address when booking on the phone giving you every oppourtunity to take note of this. The address is also listed on Google where you would have found our number.
We supplied evidence of the text sent via our messaging system to you.
The text was sent on 17/08/2023 for your test on 19/08/2023, as we sent and supplied evidence of the message sent the onus would be on you to call us and confirm this isnt received.

With regards to our email reply to you and other 1* replies.
We will be professional and expect customers to be also- when errors are made we correct them. In your case no error was made and this was shown, you then started abusing staff via email:
"Bunch of ass holes ! "
"You bunch of bandits !! "
"I’ve been speaking to a child regarding my problem"
"😂😂😂that’s the truth , have a good weekend you bunch of ass holes "
"…..muppets !!!"
"ROCC = 💩"
"bunch of clowns "
All of these quotes are from seperate emails you have sent. Plus when not receiving a response further from us you proceeded to email us full stops multiple times every minute.


Due to the administration with your booking, complaint, chargeback, abuse, calling to complain further and responding to this review we and the courts feel a fair service was provided and fees are needed to pay this.

I hope this is enough of a professional response for you. As per your original complaint response before you abused our staff.
