Dire customer service. Poor quality reproduction parts and worryingly badly reconditioned parts. As someone who's known and dealt with Rimmer Bros for more than 30 years, it was not like this in the o... See more

Delivery way too slow
The quality of the goods was very good, but the delivery took far too long. This is particularly disappointing, as it was expedited through Amazon, who are quick enough to deliver their own items

If you ever order something online and get something else by mistake, this company makes it near impossible to return it. additionally the freight is way to high.

I tried to buy a pair of rubber mats…
I tried to buy a pair of rubber mats for my restored 2 door Range Rover unfortunately when I opened the box it contained two left hand mats! I called Rimmer Bros and staff were excellent, knowledgable & helpful, and the phone was answered quickly! I returned the parcel via DPD and very quickly car credit card was refunded all without any fuss! Cost of Rimmer Bros mats was £114 cost of replacement pair from another supplier £172. I’ll attempt to use Rimmer Bros again it’s a shame we didn’t do busibess but thanks for looking after me with a bit of good old fashioned customer service!
Very helpful and easy to deal with
Very helpful and easy to deal with. Excellent delivery services and very helpful when any rare problems arise
Great source of hard to find parts.
Generally a good company with quality "hard to find" parts. They are friendly and helpful. Shipping info detail is a bit woolly - when parcels come in DPD it's easy but otherwise its hard to know where things have got to.
I have been ordering parts for my Triumph Spitfire
I have been ordering parts for my Triumph spitfire and there were issued with fitment on some of the parts however the customer service department did not give up and worked with the suppliers to resolved the issues with correct fitting parts. One has to remember that these are vintage automobiles and they rely on outside manufacturers to produce the parts in a correctly fitting manner. The days of the factory supplied Stanpart parts are gone. I give them 5 stars for there effort to find alternatives for so many parts to keep these aging British automobiles running from a time when British automobile designs were in many ways ahead of their time.
Expected delivery in 2-4 working days…

Bought a new mg tf le500 bumper listed…
Bought a new mg tf le500 bumper listed as new and primed, duly fitted and painted,3 months later the paint starts falling off in lumps as the primer was put over the top of factory paint with no preparation whatsoever, the response from rimmer bros was along the lines of it’s not our problem,
Recently ( on Black Friday )
Recently ( on Black Friday ), I placed my first order with Rimmer Bros. for Rover V8 parts and for MGB GT. The day after. The internet shop showed " all parts in stock" and the day after ( = on Saturday ), I got an email stating that my order is out. Leaving in Belgium, it took just a week for the parcel to reach me. This is OK... The packaging was very strong and with good protection for all pieces. So, to me. Good service and quality.
Excellent service from Rimmer Bros in the UK shipping to New Zealand
Excellent service from Rimmer Bros in the UK, I live in New Zealand and ordered a Terrafirma coil conversion kit for my P38 Range Rover, the service I got from Andrew at Rimmer Bros was excellent and helpful and the parts were picked up from Rimmer Bros UK on the 2nd of November and arrived at our door on the West coast of the South island of New Zealand on the 9th of November, that's only 7 days to our door, fantastic service as mail can often take up to a month internally around New Zealand, the parts are of excellent quality and I will be using Rimmer Bros as our preferred supplier for our Jag and Range Rover parts. I highly recommend them.

Excellent service
I needed to buy a large amount of parts for a Landrover, that I wasn't familiar with. I had excellent service and advice from the team on the Landrover section. I would thoroughly recommend Rimmerbros to anyone who needs parts for Landrovers.
Avoid like the plague
Wish I'd read the reviews before ordering. Ordered the parts I needed as they'd be with me within 4 days.....yeah right. 7 days and the order hasn't even been processed or picked! Maybe they'll arrive by xmas
RR Alternator: won't order again...
I telephoned as I wanted an alternator for a Range Rover Classic 1991 and it's always difficult getting the right parts. I gave my vehicle details and purchased one for £137.27. it arrived within a few days but was not the right one. I sent it back which cost me £9.95 postage and the Rimmers took £17.27 off me, returning £120.00 to my account. I then went to Premier Supply who had the right alternator for £70.00.
Not at all happy about the money taken from me, I see no point in raising the issue with Rimmer as it has on their invoice which came with the alternator that they can deduct - they did not tell me on the phone. I won't be using them again.
I bought a Defender bumper
I bought a Defender bumper - and it was dented - even though the packaging was OK - so it must have been put in like that by RB.
Asked for an exchange - offered to send the one I had back - and it seems they are happy to lose any future business for £69
Interesting that their overall rating is Poor.
Will never use them again.
Very bad experience
Very bad experience. Will never order again. Wasted 120% of my money. I've ordered headlamps. Vin nbr not checked by rimmer. Sent the wrong ones. Offered a refund but I had to pay returned shipping costs and to loose customs duties. I've insured the headlamps for brokerage. However Rimmerbros have stated right away that the parcel was not enough secured and despite the fact that before shipping I've checked my parcel with the carrier and labeled twice "Glass Handle with care" + "Fragile". Brokerage was due to pressure and bad handling.
Be very careful to double check your order if you still want to buy from Rimmerbros.
Great customer service.
I have just got off the phone with Rimmer Bros and feel that I should pass on my great customer service experience.
The Gentleman I spoke with is without a doubt an absolute credit to them.
I rang with a query that has stumped not only Westfield Sportscars (the builders of my Rover V8 engined car) but all of my local motor factors and 2 local Landrover specialists.
His knowledge of their stock and their applications is astounding and his ability to understand what I, a complete layman was talking about is most impressive, he found the part I needed in very short order and processed the sale seamlessly.
Ordered some gaskets from rimmer bros…
Ordered some gaskets from rimmer bros and they sent them dpd

Many thanks
I wish I had read the Reviews First
I wish I had read the reviews before i dealt with them. I would have been prepared for the deceptive trade practices they employ. Everything they said was a lie. When they would ship. What I service got for expedited shipping (ans: nothing). Whether they have the abiltiy to get merchandise that they sell. What shipping cost will be. On and on.
These folks do not do business as we Americans do. Everything is referred back to terms and contradicted by the terms. And, their people obviously know this as they know which loopholes to duck in and out of.
Bottom line, they use 2/3 of the Ross Johnson (Barbarians at the Gate) motto:
1. Never tell the truth.
2. Never do what you say you'll do.
Americans should avoid them becuase they don't operate fairly.
Liers
Liers, cheaters and frauds, straight up, and I will defend that statement in any court.
They quoted me 170-some pounds for a hood, with 25 pounds shipping, I HAVE documentation FROM THEM.
and accepted my payment. They then took an an unacceptable time to respond that the shipping was actually happening, but that it was going to be around 220 pounds.
When I questioned that, they responded that shipping would be about 267 pounds.
In the United States, they would have committed 2 Civilly liable acts, and 3 criminal felony indictable acts, and aside from being sued, someone would be going to prison.
This is unacceptable behavior.
I wish there wasn't an ocean and 2 governments between us so I could sue them and put someone in jail.
DO NOT TRUST THEM!
They claimed this was a website problem, but in the same sentence, acknowledged they were aware of it for some time, which leaves them criminally responsible.
Usually pretty good service
Usually pretty good service. Parts are delivered on schedule and advice is usually easily obtained.
Good range of products for older British cars - I rely on Rimmers and a select few other companies for keeping my projects on the road.
They'd get a 5* review if they hadn't ignored my recent request for information - so I ended up going elsewhere. I think the question was awkward because I was challenging the price. Their chatbot kept telling me I was connected to an agent (real person) - but that person subsequently disappeared. I left contact details and they did not follow up with me.
