Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Evaluating 191 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many people expressed dissatisfaction with the product, citing issues with game balance, outdated graphics, and a focus on monetization through skins rather than game development. The user experience is frequently criticized due to a buggy client, poor matchmaking, and a frustrating ranked system that often pairs experienced players with new or underperforming teammates. Customers also report significant problems with customer service, describing it as unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to communicate with, often receiving generic or unhelpful responses. The app itself is noted for being laggy and difficult to uninstall, while the staff are perceived as uncaring and prioritizing profit over player satisfaction. However, some customers were satisfied with the design and seamless experience of Teamfight Tactics, praising its animations and addictive RNG.

200 years of experience

16 years and they still have the same spaghetti client. They haven't combine the client and the game and have now added a client for Riot games you have to open, so you can open the League of Legends client, that then have to open the actually game. 200 years of experience

Riot to Player - How dare you experience our game

A brand-new player to League and trying to understand how in the world to play. Handful of games in, my game won't open the client. All of a sudden, I'm getting threatened with penalties and being made to say 'I will never do this again' to the system. Why be so aggressive to a player with less than an hour of time?? What is the purpose of threatening/scaring them off like that?? Now I'm off to find out what this game's issue is with opening the client that I've NEVER experienced with any other game/client, and hopefully Riot won't shoot me the next time their client window won't open.

They suck so bad

They suck so bad; penalize you for petty stuff, and then they can't even get their own game running properly; pathetic. They're a joke.... don't ever bother investing your time with them.

14-Day Ban for a Real-Life Emergency

I was playing unrated, which does not affect the other players' ratings. I had to leave due to an emergency and I asked my teammates to surrender, but they refused even though we were losing badly. According to Valorant's rules, you can only request one surrender per half. My teammates were toxic; I told them about the emergency, and they didn't listen. I thought, 'Since it's unrated, I'll only get a 1.5-hour ban,' so I just went AFK. When I returned, I had a 14-day ban. I was this close to completing the Battle Pass; now I will lose it, and all the time I spent in the game doing missions, etcetera, will be wasted. I am deleting this shitty game because of the toxic players and unfair rules. If developers are creating good games, then they should implement good rules.

Masters of defamation and toxicity.

Masters of defamation and toxicity.

For some weird reason, they defend racists and/or griefers ruining games for regular people. I still haven't figured out why, but when requesting reasons in tickets, they ignore them and avoid the subject.

I asked why they would sanction me and label me a racist for calling out a racist and intentional feeders and not the ones causing the trouble - got no answer.

Fraudulent company with a shady agenda.

And lets not get started with the state of their software. Good lord haha

Such a hassle to even play valorant

Such a hassle to even play valorant. Your vanguard system or whatever it is is awful. Takes so many tries to even get this game to launch without error 57 or 59. And even in game, there’s no control over the smurfs. Such an incompetent system

Use you brain.

Rank reset after shard transfer – no warning given

I requested a shard transfer in Wild Rift because my Legendary Queue hours didn’t match my timezone. Riot Support approved it, but never told me that my rank would reset completely. I had just reached Challenger last week, and after the transfer I was dropped all the way to Iron IV — now I can’t even play Legendary Queue at all.

When I asked for help, Support just told me to “climb back” and said nothing can be done. This wasted weeks of effort, made my situation worse instead of better, and hurt the experience for lower-ranked players who now have to face someone who was just Challenger.

Very disappointing customer service. At the very least, Riot should clearly warn players about rank resets before doing a transfer.

Matchmaking, player support & overall technicals are frustrating

I contacted the riot player support because of a misplaced automated penalty (not being able to play ranked) with clear explanations and screenshots as well as using OP-Score of reference. I did not receive a constructive response, but instead a manipulative answer, additionally stating that the penalty is being placed correctly. In my second attempt to speak to the support to recheck the case, they ignore the given screenshots, general game stats and the core message: they talk about terms of service, but the support itself do not consistently act in terms of service. Finally, I realize that they ignore the player´s point of view, using copy-paste responses and most importantly they do not act in terms of service. Clearly, this is a disloyal and disrespectful behaviour towards players and does not reflect what they promise. Luckily, I do not spend much money on this company. Let the trolls out!
