This is undrinkable unless you like a mix of vinegar and maple syrup. That is seriously what it tastes like. Until we can do better, I’m drinking the real stuff, I’ll just cut back.

Enjoyed the Ritual Zero Proof Rum, Whisky and Gin alternatives -- but the Aperitif Alternative tasted slightly worse than the cherry cough syrup I remember from my youth. The same chemically bitter t... See more

The whiskey alternative is horrendous and more so a Scotch alternative than a bourbon alternative. Super smokey on the noise, SWEET, and horrendously spicy for no apparent reason other than to emulate... See more

Tastes absolutely horrible

Tastes absolutely horrible! There is nothing relatable to whiskey at all. Heavy on cinnamon and vanilla with a touch of "burn" of cinnamon at the end. I wish I could return it.

Not ready for "Prime Time."

Not ready for "Prime Time." I wish I were able to say otherwise.
I ordered all 3 Zero Proof products. In my opinion none met the expected taste test. To me, the taste, of each was not even close to the "real thing." Very disappointed. So had hoped a zero alcohol product had finally reached the level some zero alcoholic beers had achieved. Keep working. I have a belief that a really good product is possible. It's just a matter of chemistry...Bob A

This stuff is so disappointing

I am quite disappointed with this. I was very hopeful, especially after reading the over-the-top hype on the website and the 5-star reviews. I purchased both the Whiskey alternative and the Tequila alternative. These products are very expensive for what you get, and do not come very close to replicating the flavor of these spirits. Both have and unpleasant smell. The alt whiskey is overly floral and doesn't have any of the rich toasty vanilla/caramel of real whiskey. It has a weird herbal taste with watery mouth feel. I attempted to make a Kentucky mule with ginger beer and lime - it was not good. The tequila is even worse. There is none of the roasted agave taste or smell, but more of a earthy-pasture aroma. There is an attempt to get 'the burn' with pepper, which is exactly what happens. The finish is an overly pronounced burn on tongue and lips. It's a pepper burn. I am not sure why I am even giving it 2 stars...maybe for a good intention. But we need to be honest here - this stuff tastes nothing like the real thing, either as a sipper or in mixers. I am disappointed I got sucked into the hype. It's not worth the price. I am more satisfied with just drinking a coke or virgin margarita that pouring this expensive, poor tasting stuff in those mixers.

Disappointed

Disappointed. I have been contemplating buying this for a couple months as I'm pregnant and really missing margaritas. I got sucked in with a free shipping email and decided to finally try it. I tried several recipes and all of them were undrinkable. I'm very disapointed. The tequila alternative is VERY spicy which I was not expecting. I don't feel like it added anything to the flavor of the other ingredients I added it to except for spice. I definitely won't be trying any of the other flavors. I wish it was available in smaller sizes so I wouldn't be out $26 and stuck with a big bottle of this stuff.

I bought the sampler pack

I bought the sampler pack, it was a great price and the bottles were not small. I love love the gin and whiskey. My gin and tonic was amazing and so was my Irish mule. Highly recommend trying this product I’m hooked. Also I have tried other brands but this brand is the best so far. The tequila is the only thing I’m not so sure about. It’s good but not my favorite however I’m gonna keep playing with it.

Good liquor replacement, mixes well

Really quite good. Both the tequila and the gin replacements mix well in cocktails. The gin is a little spicier than I usually like but paired with some citrus and a little simple syrup it’s a nice mocktail! The tequila is quite smooth and makes a good “Paloma.”

Love it

Love it. Tastes just like a good whiskey when mixed in a drink. Love being able to have the flavors of a good cocktail without the effects of alcohol.

I haven’t had any real liquor for more…

I haven’t had any real liquor for more than 30 years because of my intolerance of alcohol drink. I was pleasantly surprised by how good this Ritual Zero Proof tequila is in my opinion. This thing makes great Margarita. My wife and I enjoy it very much. This is my second bottle.

Whiskey and Gin

The whiskey is a little too sweet, but it is very good with club soda. The gin doesn't make for a very good martini, but I'm sure it will be fine as a gimlet or gin & tonic. I will definitely order both again.

I am sorry but I tried the sample pack…

I am sorry but I tried the sample pack and they were just plain horrible. The gin tasted like soapy water and left an aftertaste like getting your mouth washed out with soap, and I didn't even swear. The tequila was no better. I had high hopes but it fell far short.

I tricked my whiskey connisuer friend…

I tricked my whiskey connisuer friend into trying this and didn’t tell him what it really was. His first commend was “smells expensive” and upon tasting it he said “tastes high end”. He had quite a look of shock when I told him it wasn’t real!! I am 6 months pregnant and being able to drink pretend whiskey sours is fun. The spices used to make this taste so real. I am SO impressed. Shipping was super fast as well and it came in a nice thick cardboard case. I have tried the Tequila and it was a little too smoky for me but if you like mescal, you would enjoy it. Thanks Ritual!!!
