Incredibly expensive
Whilst fairly easy to use, it is VERY expensive - buy SIMs locally in the countries you visit, much much cheaper! cost me over £60 for a month in Thailand for data, my girlfriend got an unlimited SIM for less than £20 when we landed in the airport (would have been half the price had we gone to a 7eleven outside the airport). RIP OFF!

Thank you for your review.
Roamless works on all 3 major networks in Thailand (AIS, dTac, True Move) --offering very strong coverage across the country. And the per GB rate on the 20GB data plan currently is $0.97 (for users who need larger buckets of data with a cheaper per GB rate).
Having said this, local, physical tourist SIM cards can be cheaper (per GB), especially for large data plans; you are right of course.
The core tradeoffs with physical SIMs are:
- having to swap SIM cards (or carrying a second device since most flagship devices either have 1 SIM slot, or like iPhones, no physical SIM support these days),
- being relegated to a single network/operator (with no alternatives/option to switch if needed),
- and of course not having the flexibility to use the same eSIM and balance on future trips to different destinations (and wasting unused data on the physical SIM if your data requirements are not high or if you're having a shorter trip)

If you're moving across borders, or manually changing networks in your current location, new network connections and data sessions could take around 1-2 minutes to establish (especially if you are connecting to a network for the first time in your destination). This is normal.
However, if there is a different pattern or delays you are seeing/observing, it could be a device-side setting that may need adjusting, so please reach out to our support team from in-app chat and they will be able to assist you.

The absolute worst experience false…
The absolute worst experience false advertising. Very difficult to use. I tried getting a number in Japan and got charged another $28. Now I have a $46 credit US and I cannot use this and no one is calling from support to help me reverse the charges. I emailed Support and no one responded to my email. False advertising very difficult to use. Don’t waste a dollar on this app. I would say this is the biggest scam ever..

Thank you for your review. Our current pay-as-you-rate for Egypt is $3.95/GB, but for larger data needs, we also have 20GB data plans available (valid 30days) that reduce this rate to $2.45/GB.
Also, if you believe your device is consuming your data faster than expected, we recommend checking the below settings on your device to make sure that iOS is not using your eSIM for background services or other apps are not using cellular data for cloud backup (and consuming your balance faster).
1. Set your Roamless eSIM to "Low Data Mode" (iOS)
This setting will ensure that your eSIM is not used for iOS background tasks and "system usage" of mobile data is minimized, conserving your Roamless balance
- Go to Device Settings > Cellular (or Mobile Data) > scroll down to SIMs > Roamless eSIM > Data Mode
- Select "Low Data Mode" from the list
2. Turn off "iCloud Backup while on mobile data"
This setting will ensure that your account is only backed up to iCloud when you're using a WiFi connection, and not when you're using mobile data on your Roamless eSIM, conserving your Roamless balance
- Go to Device Settings > Apple Account, iCloud > iCloud Backup
- Turn off the toggle "Backup Over Cellular (Mobile) Data"
3. Additional Tips:
Most streaming apps have settings that allows for content download using mobile data, or cloud backups using cellular data (e.g., Photos app)
It is recommended that you check these app settings (e.g., Netflix, Spotify, Photos) to make sure that you have the desired 'offline mode' or 'content download' settings, turning off mobile data usage as needed.
