Damaged and faulty
Dear Sir/Madam
I received my eagerly awaited RocwooD lawnmower today but unfortunately it is faulty.
Firstly, the plug for the battery recharge was broken.
Secondly, the mower makes an awful noise when started. The blade must be positioned wrong as it’s catching on the inside, underneath. So much so, it’s made a mark. It also dug chunks out of my law . I turned it off immediately.

I purchased a 21” lawn mower in March…
I purchased a 21” lawn mower in March 2025, the body of the mower had split and the engine was falling off by August 2025. I emailed RocWood customer service in August advising of my situation along with a photo showing the problem, I was told I needed to return the mower at my expense. The next communication I had with the company was April 2026 when I asked for a replacement body, which seems impossible for RocWood to fulfil, as they couldn’t find one until today. I would never purchase anything from this company again and I advise you to do the same. The customer service team are absolutely useless and have now told me it is user error and wear and tear so would not come under warranty anyway. Avoid this company at all costs.

After you initially contacted us regarding the mower body, we requested that the machine be returned to our workshop for inspection so that our technicians could assess the issue and determine the most appropriate resolution. Unfortunately, the mower was not returned to us for inspection at that stage.
When you contacted us again in April 2026, we spent several weeks investigating whether a replacement mower body could be sourced for your model and kept you updated throughout the process. We were ultimately able to locate a replacement body and offered this as an option.
We appreciate that you were frustrated by the requirement to return the machine at your own expense. As outlined in our warranty policy, after the initial 60-day period, the cost of returning larger machinery for inspection becomes the customer's responsibility.
We are genuinely sorry that we were unable to reach a resolution that met your expectations and appreciate the feedback you have provided. We continually review customer feedback to improve both our products and our service.

We can see your order was placed through eBay , rather than our own site.
As advised in our messages to you , the parcel was marked as delivered by the courier. In situations where a customer advises that a delivered parcel has not been received, we are required to follow the courier’s claims procedure. This involves completing a denial of receipt form so that we can open an investigation on your behalf. This is standard procedure for many couriers in these circumstances.
The form is provided digitally and can be completed electronically. Unfortunately, we are unable to print and post paperwork as per your request, as all claims are handled through the courier’s online system and need to be completed as swiftly as possible .
We did try to assist throughout the process, however without the completed form we are unable to proceed with a lost parcel claim or further investigation, this was advised to you in our communication.
We are sorry that you felt our responses were not satisfactory, though we do feel some of the comments made in your review are unfair, unrelated to the matter itself, and appear to single out an individual employee in a way that feels quite personal.

Faulty items, poor customer service, would not recommend.
I’m extremely disappointed with both the product quality and the customer service of Rocwood.
I purchased a petrol pressure washer which turned out to be faulty on its very first use. The electric start didn’t work, the machine misfired and made popping sounds. It was clear that something wasn’t right from the outset.
When I contacted the company, I was asked to carry out quite technical diagnostics on a brand new machine (including checking fuel flow and spark plugs), which I don’t think is reasonable for a customer.
After confirming the issue, I requested a return. However, I was told I would need to arrange and pay for the return myself due to it being over 60 days—even though the item was faulty on its very first use. Given the size and nature of the machine, this would have been costly and inconvenient.
Because of this, I felt I had no realistic option but to keep the item and sell it on for spares, leaving me significantly out of pocket.
Overall, the experience felt very one-sided. I did not feel supported as a customer, and the responsibility for resolving a faulty product was effectively placed on me.
I would not purchase from this company again and would encourage others to look carefully at how issues are handled before ordering from here.

These are also routine maintenance checks that are typically required periodically during ownership of petrol-powered equipment.
These checks were intended to help identify whether the issue could be resolved quickly before arranging return and inspection.
As advised in our correspondence, the machine would need to be returned to us for inspection so our technicians could determine whether the issue related to a manufacturing fault or another cause. Unfortunately, the item was ultimately not returned to us for assessment, which meant we were unable to inspect or verify the reported fault before the decision was made to dispose of the machine for spares.

RIPPED OFF
After the return of the faulty pressure washer that they had only given 12 hours to get it ready and that they were informed that I could not empty the fuel tank due to the warranty status and that there was no actual means to empty it. They claimed that the engine was unusable due to it being flooded by the oil that had been left in it. They ripped me off £125 and refused to supply any proof of that. There is no way an engine can be flooded with less than 1/2 ltr of oil.
Avoid at all costs as it will cost you more than you think.
Small claims court action will be taken.

We did provide a prepaid return label as soon as we heard of this, so the item could be inspected and resolved. However, the return was cancelled and the item was not sent back to us.
For safety reasons, couriers are unable to transport items containing fuel, so we advised that the petrol would need to be emptied prior to return, which is standard practice. You advised you did not wish to do this and wished for us to pay for the petrol.
This case was also reviewed through eBay, where it was found in our favour as the item was not returned despite efforts to get this resolved.
As the item has not been received back, we have unfortunately been unable to investigate or resolve the issue further.
You advised this would be reported to external authorities , and we shall await this update.

Professionals Opinion? "Utter Trash"
Please do not use this company or buy their products. Bought the RocwooD 51cm / 20" Self Propelled 173cc Petrol Mulching Lawnmower for £246.99 last summer. Straight away the cord pull was jamming, but I hoped it just needed bedding in and would become more fluid. Big mistake. I was able to eventually get it started for a couple of mows. Then it completely locked.
Unfortunately, this was now outside the Rocwood 60 day warranty and they would only help once I paid to dismantle, drain and ship it back to them. The instructions made it pretty clear that Rocwood would use any excuse not to collect the mower from the depot (traces of oil or petrol - in a petrol mower!). I wrote it off at that point as just a bad buy and bought another from a reputable company, which has been superb.
My son in law needed a petrol mower this year and thought he would try it. When he phoned the local Garden Machinery company to arrange a service the owner just laughed as soon as he heard 'Rocwood'. He said he would look at it, but was unlikely to charge for a service as he described previous experiences with Rocwood as "utter trash". My SIL persevered, took it to them but the chap in the shop would not accept it for a service after he checked it, as he believed it was a waste of time and money even attempting to repair this mower, or indeed any Rocwood products.
I don't want any sort of refund, I write this purely to warn other potential buyers that these mowers, whilst cheap and flimsy, are not worth approximately £100 an hours worth of use before they give up the ghost. Warranty is a joke and customer service is pathetic. Please avoid.
