Very easy to order, arrived as expected, great mower!

After purchase I used the mower for the first time there seemed to be a fault as the electric cylinder kept cutting out. I emailed Ron Smith and had a response from Steffan virtually straight away. I was informed that the tension belt is not always checked at Alletts factory and Steffan emailed over a simple fix in the form of a YouTube video. Whilst this is a brilliant little mower the handle end caps will need gluing on, and the handle releaser for folding/storage could be of a better quality. This is a lightweight mower, easy to manoeuvre and is perfect for our lawn which is about 50-60 sq metres.

I have to say that the X450 (Alfred - Batman’s butler) is all it was rumored to be. It really is plug and play meaning the auto mapping function is well thought out with no need to adjust anything on a very complicated set of gardens. We have 4 quite separate lawns of 7500 sq/ft on a hilly farm in Wales with a ramp, gravel and some tight passages between. It was pre ordered and delivered, after a bit of a wait due to the first shipment of them arriving from China, at 1pm and we had all lawns cut by 4. The software will improve as he tends to retrace steps unecessarily with overlapping routes to different gardens. You will need to wait for ahile to get RTK reception as he probably last looked at the sky in China so wait it out and he will get there in the end. Alfred’s is getting wet whilst his garage is on the way but a temporary home made one is giving some protection at the expense of good satellite reception meaning you have to take it off and let the mower acquire position before trying to mow. We get all lawns done on 100% charge but opt to charge to 80% to hope to preserve the battery life. RS kept us advised of likely delivery dates. Delivery on a pallet was good as we know the palletways chaps always to a good job. Its early days yet but so far it’s a 10 from me.

My mower package (Stihl RMA 235 ) was competitively priced . Ordering was a breeze , communication throughout was superb . Product arrived very well packaged and on time . Mower is very quiet and cuts beautifully have done 2 cuts do far ( small garden ) and not even dropped 1 bar one the first battery ! If you are considering a cordless mower then I would wholeheartedly recommend both Stihl and Ron Smith and Co hence 5 stars .

I wanted to replace my Stihl robot mowers with Husqvarna. Anthony from Ron Smiths came out to advise and installed a new 430V Nero. It is so much better than the old machine. It was an excellent service all round, from advise to install.

First class service

Ordered a Stihl RMA 235.1 lawnmower + AK20 battery & charger at a very competative price online on 16th April. Order number sent and then heard nothing so rang on 22nd and was told would ring me back. Nothing heard so rang later the same day and was told it should be collected by courier this afternoon with following day delivery. Actually turned up on Friday 24th.
Used the lawnmower on 3 occasions now and the front right hand wheel has fallen off (not usable at the present time) - definitely not what you would expect from a Stihl product. I know thats an issue with Stihl but will be interesting to see what Ron Smiths customer service is going to be like !!! I will update the review once there have been any developments.

Contacted Ron Smith and asked for an email with the problem and photographs to show the issue. Rang me up within 30 mins and told me not seen this issue before with this model of lawnmower. They have ordered a part from Stihl which they will post out to me as soon as it arrived. Customer service good so now gone up to 4 stars from the original 2.

I recommend Ron Smith. Really helpful, prompt replies and good stock.
