After trying Duolingo for my son's Spanish lessons, I felt he needed something more accurate (soo many bugs on that app!) but with less pressure. He is really enjoying Rosetta Stone, especially having... See more

We are still in the first week of Rosetta Stone but so far so good. We paid for the three month package to help our high school son. Most collages require two years of a second language. Learning a se... See more
So far so good. We did have a little hiccup when trying to have two different students on the same computer. It would be nice if there was the option to have it under only one email address instead... See more

Lack of transparency with information / detail about product
The first four people we talked with when ordering and answering questions about the product seemed to tell us things to sell the product that were not accurate. We believed them and purchased the product. When we found out the information was not true (mainly about how worksheets, tests, and grades worked), we were still given inaccurate information. When we talked with the fifth person, we were given a true statement that the worksheets from former versions did not work with this version, there is no school year schedule, and no accurate way to keep a grade that we can transfer to a portfolio. If this true statement were given to us early on, we would not have bought this particular program.
I am using Rosetta Stone for…Homeschool second language (Portuguese)
I am using Rosetta Stone for Homeschool, we have 3 school age children and my greatest disappointment is our $100+ family membership doesn’t allow for more than one “student” profile. It’s excellent content and teaching model however it’s difficult to make known and visible record or process having each student use the same profile and start progress over each time. I highly recommend an option for families with multiple students or even multiple adults (marriage) to have an option to create individual profiles within the family membership. I believe many more people in the homeschool realm would intimide this option!
Very impressed
Great layout in that each lesson clearly tells how much time should be expected to spend on each portion of the lesson in the unit. Great to help students budget time and utilize time management skills. Easy access to grades for parents.

Usually we love Rosetta Stone but since it was changed and now you have to subscribe online and use it in your website, it worked for a couple weeks and now it won’t work anymore. It’s very frustrating to pay for it and then have it not work.

My eight year old has been using the program for around 6 months. I have seen an improvement in his pronunciation and understanding of the spanish language (I'm hispanic and live in the US). However, I have noticed very often a low quality on voice recognition and technical issues as well. In the app, the writing lessons are not available, he must use the website. He completes some of the lessons and then they show up as non completed. He gets a bit frustrated some times.

Learning Spanish has never been this fun.
Not happy with it.
A little glitchy
I thought I would be emailed an update or progress report so often since this is the homeschool version. Also the voice recognition part is very glitchy, it usually prompts my son that he is pronouncing it wrong when he is clearly saying it correctly. But overall a good program.

I bought the Spanish lessons for my 9 year old son. He loves it! I usually sit near him when he is taking his lessons. It is very clear and easy to use.

The ap itself works well for my highschool student, but I wish there were more support materials for moms and that the website was more user friendly and informative.

Easy to use and teaches a lot of information with plenty of repetition.
VERY DISAPPOINTED
I chose Rosetta Homeschool Spanish hoping to fulfill my child's high school foreign language credits. I love the interactive way of learning a foreign language vs learning from a book. However, I have been greatly disappointed in the program. First, we have had a lot of problems with the voice recognition. Either my child's voice is not heard and the credit is not given, or other times it credits words that are completely wrong. For example, in a moment of frustration with the program because it had not been recognizing the word attempts, my child said, "I want a cheeseburger" and the program gave a perfect score. Clearly, not Spanish. We worked with a representative for nearly an hour via chat trying to diagnose the speaker problem when we were disconnected. While the representative reached out through email afterwards, both myself and my child dreaded another wasted hour. My child eventually tried the program through an app vs the computer. The app made a big difference and my child no longer has the voice recognition issue. My second complaint would be the fact that this program is labeled "homeschool." I assumed this would be a program recognizing the needs for grading/accountability since it wasn't distinguished as "homeschool" vs the regular program. This is NOT the case. There are progress points but no way to assess grades!!! When I contacted the customer service I was given short, quick answers that never answered my questions about grading. The rep sent a link to activities from a PREVIOUS Rosetta version, yet there is no easy correlation or time table as to WHEN I could even use these activities for grading. I signed up for a 24 month subscription and I am very disappointed as it seems that my subscription will either be a waste and I will need to purchase an actual homeschool curriculum or I will otherwise need to do a TON of legwork to print and monitor and administer activities.
Not happy...
When we signed up for Rosetta Stone we were supposed to get another subscription for free. I never heard from anyone about how to access that free subscription.
My daughter does not like the program. She says it is boring and the program doesn't seem to have a good flow. She prefers another program instead.
This program is horrible!!
This program is horrible!!! Not recommended for anyone who hasn't learned a foreign language before. It only makes you repeat things verbally. It doesn't tell you anything about tenses, conjugating verbs, pronouns or anything! I wish I could get my money back, but it's too late. Stay away from this if you want to actually learn HOW to learn a language.
Overall excellent
Overall, this is an excellent program. Have problems with vocal recognition occasionally. Usually have to exit and try again later or the next day.
Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service! Terrible software platform!
This has been a great program
This has been a great program. The only complaint I have is that the family plan is only for three people.
The language learning is great. Reporting and monitoring are inadequate.
Homeschool edition is not much different than the regular edition. It misses a lot of the controls and interfaces that most homeschool families require.
The language learning modules are great. Reporting and monitoring are inadequate.
