Emma Hodges is brilliant

I found Emma Hodges to be extremely helpful and answered my questions with far more accuracy and efficiency than some of the installers I have spoken to about Roseview windows. She double checked Ona couple of points and even found a subject matter expert to answer questions I had about external finish. I can now speak to my installers with confidence about getting exactly what I want. Thank you Emma.

Genuinely really happy with Roseview

Genuinely really happy with Roseview, the windows are excellent quality and arrived promptly as per the plan/comms.

One thing that has prompted the review, is the after sales support we've received. Our builders fitted the windows themselves, it seems slightly incorrectly. When we discussed with Roseview they've been very supportive and have even suggested/implemented some work-arounds to help us out. Not something that I expected considering Roseview didn't fit the windows themselves(!), genuinely helpful after-sales is a real reassurance.

Thanks to Sophie and Brian for the help!

Delighted

The website was very clear and informative and the windows, which were installed by a recommended local fitter, are brilliant. We are delighted with the look and functionality and everyone thinks they’re authentic timber sashes.

Fantastic experience & products

Fantastic experience and incredibly pleased with the end result.
Roseview were easy and efficient to deal with from the planning stage through until after installment.
The window quality is superb with compliments from several local neighbours around how authentic they look. The quality of the product and all the features surpasses and of the alternative brands we viewed.
The literature provided for maintenance/cleaning of the windows is also well laid out.
Would 100% recommend.

I had an initial problem with my windows. I had a delightful conversation with a customer service manager, Mrs McGloughlin who I have to say went over and beyond to resolve my issue speedily and thoroughly. I would recommend this company to others, based on her professionalism.

Customer Care Manager

Awful CSM. Spoke to her a few times and has never resolved the issues I have had as she didn’t know much about the product at all. Product was not acceptable and should not have been sold in the condition it had been sold in.

Excellent from start to finish

Excellent from start to finish. Everyone I dealt with was knowledgeable and so patient. (I self measured and had a local builder fit them so needed A LOT of support). The windows are of exceptional quality and you wouldn’t know they are not wood, I’m in a conservation area and the appearance really mattered.
They have made such a difference in warmth and soundproofing inside.
Wholeheartedly recommend roseview

Poor product. Poor service.

Short:
I had Roseview sash windows installed on my Victorian terraced house in Feb 23 and it’s been an absolute nightmare from the start.

The Roseview sash windows let in significant drafts, the sash cords have detached (leaving the top sashes unsupported), the painted finish has scratched off and the external window trim has separated allowing water into the insulation surrounding the frames.

Roseview failed to resolve these issues over a period of 7 months before giving up. Their efforts included: sawing holes into the frames of all 10 windows to retrofit vital parts they left out during manufacturing; removing the sashes to reattach the sash cords (which subsequently fell out again); installing thicker, unsightly draft brushes around the edge of each sash to try and reduce the drafts; and respraying the painted finish (twice) to repair manufacturing defects and the extensive scratching caused from the normal opening/closing of the windows.

Roseview have now relinquished all responsibility, blaming everything on the installation undertaken by their own “respected and approved installer”. Conversely, the installer (who still operates as an approved installer for Roseview) blames the issues on Roseview’s product defects - leaving me stuck in the middle with no apparent recourse. All of this has caused me a significant amount of stress and inconvenience and I’m left with poor quality windows that are totally unfit for purpose.

Long:
Poor thermal performance - The windows let in significant drafts around the edges of each sash and frame, making the rooms feel cold and causing me to have my heating on a lot more over the winter. I can feel a constant cold draft when sitting near the windows and the drafts are almost strong enough to blow out a candle.

Poor quality parts - The sash cords on 3 of the windows have detached, leaving the weight of the top sashes unsupported by anything other than a catch. I’m now reluctant to open the windows in case I can’t get them shut again and I have concerns over their safety and security. Also, staff beads constantly fall out and catches are loose.

Poor quality manufacture - Vital parts of the sash mechanisms were found to be missing (confirmed to me by Roseview’s own engineer). The engineer had to retrofit these parts by sawing holes in each side of the frames of all 10 windows. The engineer also discovered tape had been left on the edge of one of the windows before factory spraying, which inevitably peeled off and revealed an unpainted area.

Poor quality appearance - The paint finish applied to the windows (including the sash channels) easily scratches off when the windows are opened/closed. Roseview appointed a paint specialist to respray the windows but the scratching reoccurred. The windows have been resprayed twice already with a third respray required to try and cover up damage caused during the second respray.

Poor quality design - The draft brushes around the edge of every sash only come in white/grey so if you have coloured windows (I had black) there will be a thick white/grey line around the edge of each sash. This totally ruined the heritage look of the windows, made worse by the need to fit thicker brushes to tackle drafts (which failed). Also, four of the windows have mandatory trickle vents that seem to be poorly designed – essentially just holes cut into the hollow plastic frame, with no sealed ‘channel’. When the trickle vents are closed, cold wind is forced into the hollow plastic frame and leaks out of joins, causing additional drafts.

Poor customer service - I raised a complaint to Roseview’s “respected and approved” installers in Apr 23 but they were completely unhelpful so I complained to Roseview directly. Whilst I received an encouraging initial response from Roseview’s MD (Richard Burrells), I then spent a considerable amount of time calling and emailing Roseview over the next 7 months to try and get the issues resolved. My complaint has never been actively managed – Roseview have been consistently slow in arranging and undertaking remedial work, have failed to communicate key details of the property/work to engineers involved (causing more delays) and have not been proactive in keeping me informed, resulting in a lot of stress and inconvenience.

In Dec 24, Roseview agreed to re-appoint the specialist to respray the windows (third time) but it’s now mid-April and I’ve had no contact from Roseview since.

Update after RV’s reply: A ‘product recall’ has not been mentioned before. At no point have I withdrawn permission for a visit. I have kept meticulous records of all interactions - I spoke to Roseview’s CSM at 9:10 on 08/12/23 and asked that the 3rd respray take place in January and she agreed to contact me in early January. No contact since.

We’re sorry to hear that you remain unsatisfied with your window installation.

As you are aware, your contract and guarantee is with the installer of the windows, rather than with us. They specified, measured and then installed the windows for your home.

However our engineer has been out to replace parts that were subject to a product recall from the component manufacturer, and to assess other issues to see if they were manufacturer defects or installation issues.

As per our report sent to you and the installer in August 2023, the paint scratches and unequal sash gaps have been caused by the windows being installed out of square and bowed. The external trims coming loose is also down to the installers (we don’t supply trims on the windows).

Despite having advised that the installation issues can only be corrected by the window installers, we have tried to help wherever possible by installing thicker brushpiles and arranging – at our cost – paint repairs. Technically this should have happened through your installer, but we were and continue to be eager to help. However until the root cause of the issues is corrected by the installer, there is no more we can do.

We want to revisit your property to complete the replacement of the parts covered by the third-party product recall. Unfortunately you have withdrawn permission for us to do this. We would also urge you once again to contact your installer about correcting the issues caused by out-of-square fitting. We are happy to repeat our offer to attend site at the same time as the installer, to run through our findings. Your installer can contact us to arrange this.

We want you to be as happy with your sash windows as the tens of thousands of other satisfied homeowners who have windows installed. We have and will continue to do all we can to help, but as the problems you have faced are not caused by manufacturer defects, this needs to revert to your contract and guarantee from your installer.

Amazing windows

Amazing windows, sturdy with a great period look. Clear focus on quality, and amazing customer support - there was a minor bit missing in one of the windows and the team sent the item very quickly.

I particularly recommend the Roseview Ultimate, which is the one I had installed.
