I have paid my TV licence (To be honest I don't know why, perhaps to stop strangers knocking on my door). RTE is a disgrace, not sure how there have been no arrests. This country is run by who you know. When will Ireland stand up to this corruption and opportunism. Tried to watch a rugby game, impossible, spinning wheel. Funny ads work perfectly. And you fire people with 400,000 + euro. You all belong in prison

RTE player absolute joke just like the rip off amateur company it is its self....why do we even put up with it ???

RTÉ player is always skipping Stalling, buffering.. Pure hopeless. I pay my TV licence.. It is a pure insult when other media providers have ZERO issues.. It's not my broadband is the issue. . Netflix, Disney Plus, Amazon Prime all play perfect on my TV... RTÉ player is hopeless in comparison.

It is the most infuriating platform to watch series on. Ad after ad, glitch after glitch and you can't fast forward without watching the same idiotic ads again and again. They have decent programmes worth watching but instead of an enjoyable viewing experience, we wind up throwing the device out the window in frustration. Sort it out RTE!

The RTE player is unwatchable! Why are we being forced to pay 160e for such a poor poor service. The programmes are decent but you actually can't comfortably watch any of them. Why even bother trying to have the Player service at all?!

Trying to watch the scot/wales match😬, Slow, glitchy, grainy, buffering constantly, but the ads are crystal clear, well done rte for consistancy for years in a BS streaming system

It's constantly buffering. A lot of ads. It stalls It's a product that clearly nobody on the delivery team cares about. With all that is going on with RTE, throw in the towel on the player. Updating as of Feb 17, in fairness the new Player launched a few weeks ago is very good, credit where credit is due

Brilliant watchlist but no comfort watching anything. Between all the unnecessary ads and then going blank screen after ads that you can t watch rest of programme you are watching as just moves onto next episode and then same again. Tried fast forwarding to spot where left off and starts at beginning again and then blank screen. It s very frustrating and wondering why rte player bothers with such unthoughtful watching comfort. It s a nightmare to navigate and have given up. It badly needs more thought and alot of work to makethis app more desirable for viewers !!

RTE player is not fit for purpose...how can a state funded provider that also 'force feeds' advertising and unsolicited commercial content becso inept incompetent and unprofessional.... i really think my licence fee is totally undeserved.... weak government mouthpiece..with very few trustworthy journalists ...shame on you....

I wish I could give it ZERO stars. It's terrible and glitchy and extremely non user friendly. Shocking.

Typical Irish . Too many ads and a terrible app

RTE complete waste. Streaming while out useless and yet can watch other channels. Watching the URC constant streaming issues. TG4 no streaming issues. Virgin media no streaming issues. They need a complete overhall and no more taxpayers money
And to the person who wrote that most people who complain ding pay their TV licence. Don't tar us all with the same brush. Either sort it out or get rid.

Purely government propaganda. Zero talent and overpaid throughout. It'd be no loss to make it pay per view. Scandals yet to come I'm sure pure muck and good riddance when it eventually does fail 🙏

After the riots in Dublin the rte coverage or lack or it was a discrace they are clearly a propaganda machine for the current government. Along with many other story's that were dropped passed over or completely ignored rte should be scrapped at this point. It is sad to say I got a more information from news channels not based outside Ireland.

The mark little show last night tomorrow tonight was the greatest load of rubbish and fear mongering garbage I've ever seen.

Personally, I don't get all of the shade RTÉ gets. I understand some but the vast majority is just people angry that they have to pay a tv licence, and let's be honest, most people complaining don't pay it anyways. However RTÉ's funding model is fundamentally broken, not only has it not seen profits for years, not only does it not even fund RTÉ enough, it also makes the public angry about the fact they have to pay €150 a year. I think that it should be funded by the government like the Australian ABC. RTÉ should get enough money to be able to expand, not cut back. If RTÉ is funded well and has enough money, it's output on television, radio and online (RTÉ.ie and RTÉ Player) will significantly improve.

5 minutes a night twice a week, these morons have the rest of the week to make sure their lotto machines are working correctly, yet Saturday 21st October,

they have to cancel it because of "technical issues". In light of their previous behaviour giving underhand payments to so called "Celebrities " they should be closed down permanently, they will not be missed.
