Don’t work for them!!Clients don’t book the staff as they get money from you but they don’t want pay the staff. They ripping off staff by not paying them. Don’t use them, Rubbish company

If I could award a sub-zero rating for this appalling service, I would. We hosted a wedding on 3rd August 2024 for our friends; the day was perfect in every conceivable way with the exception of the "bar staff" hired from this outfit.
Of the five who attended, only one really worked or showed any understanding of what running a bar actually entails. She was a diamond throughout a long day and night and deserves to be name checked - Libby, you were wonderful, thank you.
Now to the rest. in summary, these comments reflect our experiences of the remaining members of the team.
Late arrival meaning we had to organise reception drinks ourselves.
One was sullen, did not smile or engage once during the entire event. Did not know how to pour a gin and tonic and had to be showed how to use a bottle opener.
Told guests we had "run out" of diet coke, of wine, of beer when they had been shown multiple times where the fridges for restocking were.
Asked for a tequila shot. Did not know what tequila was. When shown the bottle promptly poured a half pint.
Failed to serve the top table.
Could not master the simple idea of taking bottles of red and white wine to each table and serving.
Bowls of fresh garnishes - lemons, limes, oranges, cucumber, mint, strawberries - left untouched.
Had to be instructed to make sure each table had fresh water - which prompted a delivery of plastic pint glasses filled with water. Clearly the crystal water glasses laid out ready did not suit.
Myself and a fellow guest had to get behind the bar and take over to make sure our guests at least had one drink with their food.
We had ordered extra staff to ensure we still had cover while they took breaks. They couldn't even organise this. Instead they asked for food which was intended for guests and then helped themselves to desserts left but which were to have been kept for guests who couldn't get there till late. The crusts of the pizzas they were given were simply thrown on the floor of the bar which we all had to clean up the morning after. The floor was awash with spillages and leaked bins, but clearly using a mop and bucket was too much to expect.
We worked with caterers, florists, photographers - the usual wedding requirements - and without exception, they were outstanding.
But this lot? Seriously, take any money you were considering spending with them, take it outside and burn it. At least it will keep you warm for a minute or two. But it certainly won't buy you service or quality and will certainly take the shine off an otherwise perfect day.

DO NOT HIRE THROUGH THIS COMPANY THEY WITHOLD PAYMENT FROM STAFF

I have worked 2 events with ruby lemon and both times were last minute bookings with not all staff showing up

First event the events manager did not show. 3 staff (including myself showed) with no clue what was happening. Luckily we were experienced and were able to run the event smoothly.

Second event, required 10 waiters with only 4 showing. 2 were not experienced in any way and made the job more stressful than necessary.

Now they are not replying to me to pay for my transport which they agreed to pay.

Absolutely rubbish company.

Do not use for weddings. Didn't turn up for my sisters wedding which could have completely ruined the day, luckily the family pitched in and helped.

But honestly, imagine booking servers for your wedding and most of them not turning up without notice and the ones that do are possibly doing their best, but completely unprepared to manage with being understaffed and one couldn't speak English.

Would not book these for anything important.

I had a team from RubyLemon last weekend. I couldn't be happier with the bar and cocktail staff they provided. From start to finish, the team was professional, friendly, and exceptionally skilled.

The bartenders were great, I highly recommend Sheryl and Jess!

How I wish I’d read the one star reviews. We booked waiting staff with ruby lemon for our wedding day through add to events as well as being recommended them by our tipi hire company.

75% of the staff didn’t turn up. One of the ones that did barely spoke English and did not care that she was serving a wedding - she was slow and unhelpful. The one guy who was competent was so stressed.

Ruby lemon didn’t provide a contact number and didn’t tell us most of the staff didn’t turn up. This completely ruined our day, with family and friends having to pitch in to serve food and drinks, do the transitions of furniture for day/night etc.

DO NOT use ruby lemon. Horrific experience, and clearly this is a regular occurrence with how many reviews cite this issue. If you want a stress free wedding day - choose another provider.

I hired servers for my wedding. The servers were not dressed foe a wedding event. I expected that they would at least have black pants and white shirts. One server had the nerve to show up wearing a do rag on her head and when asked to take off the do rag she got an attitude. Throughout the wedding event they didn't have a clue as to flow through the day. Once the food was blessed one server took it upon their self to asked guests to line up to be served even though the Bride and Groom were not served their meal. The bridal party had not been served either. During dinner two of my guests had to step in and replenish water on guests tables as well as remove empty dinner plates from guests tables. Now here's the kicker, once the cake was cut the servers were supposed to cut the bottom two layers of the cake to serve to guest. My cake was totally hacked up into large chucks and they even hacked up my the top layer of my cake which is supposed to be saved for my one year anniversary.

I will never do business with Rubylemon again. I would have done better hiring anyone off the street and they would have done a better job.

Rubtlemon servers are the worst. Unprofessional and untrained!!!

I hire server from RubyLemon for my daughters quinceanera. The party started at 6pm. I requested that the employee pick up the food at 5pm and have it set up by 6pm to serve. I paid for them to stay for the entire event to refill and keep the area clean.

They picked up the good at 6pm and only because I called asking why the good hadn't been picked up at 5pm. They dropped the food off at the left. Did not make contact with anyone. Left the food in the containers and left the event.

I had no one to set up the food, serve and refill the food. I called and they replied that they did not know why the employee left. They could not send a replacement and would refund me my money. Because of their actions my daughters party was pushed back 1 1/2 hrs during a 5 hr party. Our family couldn't enjoy themselves because they had to pick up where RubyLemon failed.

They provided an excuse in the response below but they took the job and should have followed through. There was no safety issues with picking up food, setting it up and refilling it. It makes no sense what you are saying. The restaurant called me at 6:00pm saying no one showed up to pick up the food. The food was suppose to be picked up at 5:00pm. So initially the person was already one hour late.

We were fortunate to have two members from Rubylemon help us at our daughter's engagement party. Thuy and Renard were amazing. They arrived on time and were eager to help in anyway. Because of their experience, they took care of things thoughout the event so my husband and I could enjoy meeting family and friends at our daughter's engagement. It was not just us they notice the other guests did as well. They just fit in so well. I would certainly work with them again if another opportunity comes up.

I worked several events and was commended for my hard work. Then, one day prior to an event Ruby Lemon asked me to do a different event in a town that was 55 miles away, and I agreed. Two hours before this event, I was asked to pick up food from another town which was 15 miles away from the destination. Still, I agreed because I am a team player and a hard worker. When I arrive to the restaurant, it was over 100 pounds of food that I had to lift by myself into my car, drive to the venue, unload, and then load it into the kitchen. This goes against OSHA laws for lifting weight over 50 pounds without a team lift, then I was continually harassed by two different people at Ruby Lemon when I was trying to work . I walked out of the job two hours early because I strained my back and I was tired of being harassed and treated rudely by staff. I said I expected to receive payment and I was told via text message that I would of course be paid. The next day my account was suspended. I sent four emails to different staff members at Ruby Lemon, I called, texted, and did not receive response nor did I receive payment for what was three hours of my time, plus driving 200+ miles, plus having suffered physical injury. I I never complained about two other events, one of which I was running late and texted my contact person and having already driven 40 miles was told not to go, and I did not get paid at all. On another occasion, I cut my hand, they do not have a first aid kit, they DO not provide gloves, I had to drive myself to a Pharmacy and buy first aid supplies for myself, and continue working.

DO NOT work for this company, they are UNFAIR, exploitive, and ruthless.

As a wedding planner, I am so happy we hired RubyLemon to help out with my client's wedding. Their team (Marco was our lead that day) went above and beyond with bussing, setting up appetizer/drink stations, table settings, cleaning up rentals and much more. They were easy to work with and was on top of any needs I asked of them. Highly recommend!

RubyLemon provided 5 staff members to help run our wedding a week ago. They did everything from setting up the space, to replenishing food and drinks, to bussing tables, to cleaning everything up after the event. Throughout the whole event, the staff was friendly, efficient, organized, experienced, and just a pleasure to work with. They were really attentive and constantly made sure that my (new) wife and I had what we needed during the event, bringing us food and drinks proactively throughout the evening. We couldn't have asked for better event staff!

The overall experience of hiring two waiters for our wedding was great, communication was clear & the invoice service was easy!
The two staff that came were great, nothing was to much and just two lovely girls, worked really hard and generally really pleased with the service!

We've had Ruby Lemon for our corporate summer events and they are F A N T A S T I C. Ladies who attended were on time, friendly, approachable and really got involved in the Festival vibes we were giving our staff, everyone looked great and they were able to get through so many people the entire festival was covered in glitter - would highly recommend!

The team were great! Got into the swing of things really quickly and great communication throughout. Took away any stress during our wedding day!

Holly was extremely helpful and easy to work with and her ideas and costume design on such short notice were amazing, we will 100% be using rubylemon again! Kayley and Lauren were very professional and after a small brief took to their stilts and made their way around our massive car show to entertain the crowds for the day.

I had a great experience with Ruby Lemon. They supplied two entertainers for my 40th bday party, who did stilts, fire performance and disco ball dancers. The performers who came were lovely and Holly was so amazing to deal with. Thanks guys for making the party! I will be recommending and using you for my next party! Thank you!
